Costume shops in St.Louis.
2007-10-22 18:16:00
Check out the Vintage Haberdashery on South Grand Avenue about two blocks south of Arsenal. This boutique is open all year and has rack after rack of unique, if not a little pricey, vintage clothing. Head into the back room and you'll find a large selection of costumes that are perfect for a Halloween dress up. Some of them are for sale, but if you're only going to wear the thing once a year, it's much cheaper to rent. Wigs for rent are in the $20.00 to $45.00 price range and costumes run from $25.00 to $200.00 for a lime green 1920's zoot suit. Johnnie Brock's Dungeon has 7 locations throughout the St. Louis area. Their main (and best) location is in Hampton Village on the corner of Hampton and Chippewa. Johnnie Brock's started out as a greeting card shop and they still carry a full line of Hallmark greeting cards and decorations for all of the other holidays, but over the years their Halloween business grew and grew. All of the other six locations as well as a haunted hous...

Nebraska state senator sues God
2007-09-21 06:10:00
The defendant in a state senator's lawsuit is accused of causing untold death and horror and threatening to cause more. Turns out he can be sued in Douglas County, the legislator claims, because He's everywhere.Yahoo reports that Senat or Ernie Chambers sued God last week. Angered by another lawsuit he considers frivolous, Chambers says he's trying to make the point that anybody can file a lawsuit against anybody else. I just read about this......what a ridiculous waste of the courts time and the taxpayers money. Is this guy for real??!! I cannot wait until common sense becomes a priority in america again. I understand that there is an issue with another case and he's trying to prove a point, but this is a ridiculous way to do it. He is an adult. Read more about it here.

Life: Explained
2007-09-09 02:45:00
A boat docked in a tiny Mexican village. An American tourist complimented the Mexican fisherman on the quality of his fish and asked how long it took him to catch them. "Not very long," answered the Mexican. "But then, why didn't you stay out longer and catch more?" asked the American. The Mexican explained that his small catch was sufficient to meet his needs and those of his family. The American asked, "But what do you do with the rest of your time?" "I sleep late, fish a little, play with my children, and take a siesta with my wife. In the evenings, I go into the village to see my friends, have a few drinks, play the guitar, and sing a few songs. I have a full life." The American interrupted, "I have an MBA from Harvard and I can help you! You should start by fishing longer every day. You can then sell the extra fish you catch. With the extra revenue, you can buy a bigger boat." "And after that?" asked the Mexican. "With the extra money the larger boat will bring, you can buy a ...

What if the ASPCA earned a penny every time you searched the Internet?
2007-08-31 16:44:00
What if the ASPCA earned a penny every time you searched the Internet ? Well, they do, thanks to GoodSearch.com, a search engine powered by Yahoo! that donates half of its revenues to charities. Simply visit GoodSearch.com to start making a difference and check out how the numbers add up. If 500 people search four times a day, roughly $7,300 will be raised in a year—without anyone spending a dime. So far over $4,200 has been raised for the ASPCA in 2007 alone. So be sure to visit GoodSearch.com and add your two cents (or three or four) to animal welfare!

Mehran: He's been living in an airport since 1988
2007-08-27 00:11:00
Mehran Karimi Nasseri, also known as Sir, Alfred Mehran (yes, including the comma), is an Iranian refugee who has been living in the departure lounge of Terminal One in Charles de Gaulle Airport since August 8, 1988. After he was later imprisoned, tortured and expelled from his country, he applied for asylum in many European countries without luck. When he decided to go to the United Kingdom, he claimed that he was mugged, and his shoulder bag stolen while waiting at the RER platform to go to Charles de Gaulle Airport to take a flight to Heathrow. Nasseri managed to board the plane, but when he arrived at Heathrow without the necessary documentation, Heathrow officials sent him back to Charles de Gaulle. Nasseri was unable to prove his identity or his refugee status to the French officials and so he was moved to the Zone d'attente (waiting zone), a holding area for travellers without papers. Nasseri was reportedly the inspiration behind the 2004 movie The Terminal. Unlike Tom Hanks...
