New Dates For Our New Ambergris Caye Property Tours
2011-09-21 01:40:00
We’ve just finalized the dates for our brand new Ambergris Caye Property tours and put the finishing touches on our itinerary. We’ll be running the tours on the following dates: November 25-27 2011 and December 2-4 2011. No question, a real estate tour, where you get to see a choice of property options, selected by in-country experts, is a prudent way to get a handle on this market. There is something here for everyone – and all of it best-in-class: Beachfront condos, income generating units, luxury resort hotel property, dive real estate, eco-inspired communities, Belizean style villas, functional ‘casitas’ and beachfront property. These properties appeal to both head and heart. You’ll first connect on an emotional level, then you’ll run the numbers – as we have done – and see the hard logic of the investment. Click here for the details.

Belize property: could now be the perfect time to buy?
2007-12-23 21:20:00
“Belize: buy before the Europeans!” is the headline on the International Living December 2007 Magazine. By late 2008 it will be possible to fly direct to Belize City from Europe.  This is big news for Belize and its real estate market.  The Europeans, armed with their strong currencies, will start to arrive to this English speaking country in numbers.  They will no longer have to transit through the US. They will come for the classic Caribbean experience, the world class diving, the jungles and rainforests, the Mayan ruins, the waterfalls and rivers.  And the real estate dollars will follow close behind. We have seen the effect of new flight routes on real estate markets before.  Dubbed the “Ryanair effect” (Ryaniar is a major European low cost airline).  Wherever Ryanair has started flying, the Irish and the Brits have followed and real estate markets have flourished. There are also rumors that direct flights from Canada will also start. Timing is everything in real e...

Belize Real Estate Could Be in Your Retirement Future
2007-11-21 21:16:00
The U.S. National Association of Real tors® (NAR) is over 1.2 million strong in membership.  When an association that size opens a strategic relationship with another organization, is worthy of note.  NAR did just that when they announced in November 2007 that they were initiating a joint reciprocal relationship with the Belize National Association of Realtors® in recognition of the growth of the Belize real estate industry. NAR is recognizing the growth of the real estate market in Belize, and there are a number of reasons for it: English as a native language – Belize has adopted English as their native language.  The country is a former British Colony known as British Honduras. Foreign citizen tax breaks – retirees in Belize can apply for special status that provides tax breaks on retirement income and import of household items and furnishings. This bodes well for investment in Belize real estate. An expanding economy – the gross domestic product of Belize ha...

Is Belize ?the next big thing? in Caribbean real estate?
2007-02-18 19:01:02
Belize is managing to combine the opportunity for investors to participate in both a rapidly growing tourism market and an emerging second home retirement destination. Although more affordable than other Caribbean destinations, this is not at the expense of local amenities and services - something that sets it apart from more speculative offerings elsewhere. Certain regions could be described as a ?mezzo market? - a term coined by International Living to describe markets that are not quite emerging; not quite developed. The risk/reward profile is perhaps more comfortable than purely speculative real estate markets elsewhere in Central America. As you might expect, continued growth in tourism, environmental preservation and infrastructure improvement are important factors in the future success of the real estate market in Belize. Indications are good. The country has a progressive Tourism ministry that has been successful in putting Belize firmly on the map as a tourism destination....

San Pedro Sun - San Pedro Street Project A Reality
2007-02-18 19:01:02
The road conditions on Ambergris Caye are improving starting with two major sections in downtown San Pedro . Original Story: http://www.sanpedrosun.net/07-051.html San Pedro Town, a beautiful piece of paradise situated in the Caribbean is blooming with beauty and charm. Nevertheless, the rainy season leaves the streets filled with potholes and mud, while during the dry season the air is thick with dust. However, those issues will be a problem of the past. On January 29th, 2007, the San Pedro Town Council called an urgent town meeting. The purpose: to discuss the street rehabilitation projects and the details pertaining to their visit with Prime Minister Said Musa and Financial Secretary Carla Barnett, which took place on January 25th, 2007 at the Prime Minister?s office. Although attendance was minimal, the head table had good news for the community; both the Southern Road and Barrier Reef Drive will soon be restored and both will be cobble stoned. Sitting at the head table wer...

Belize ranks third for online searches for real estate
2007-02-18 19:01:02
If you wanted a rough-and-ready way to calculate investor interest in real estate in different countries, type a commonly used search term into a tracking service. Then repeat, using the same search term, for comparison countries. What you are looking for is not the absolute number of searches (something, incidentally, that can be hard to find) but the relative results between counties. Have a look at the graph below for countries in Central America for searches made inDecember 2006. Costa Rica tops the bill. This is not altogether surprising. Costa Rica is the most established market in the region, has the largest number of US citizens as residents, and has been a popular real estate destination for many years. Panama and Belize rack up the second and third spots for Internet searches followed by Nicaragua in fourth position. It is impossible to know exactly how this translates into investor confidence or relative real estate sales volumes for the different countries. Data on sal...
