Recipe to make the world blind
2008-03-03 06:54:00 An Eye For An Eye Will Make The Whole World Blind . - Gandhi... Whoever destroys one life is considered as if he had destroyed the entire world, and whoever saves one life is considered as if he had saved the entire world.. Jewish text Mishnah Sanhedrin 4:5 .... God did prescribe to the Children of Israel that whosoever slays a soul, unless it be for murder or for corruption in the land, it is as though he killed all men; and whoever saveth the life of one, it shall be as if he had saved the all mankind; and certainly Divine messengers came to them with clear arguments, but even after that many of them certainly act extravagantly in the land.. 'the holocaust' thats present today
2008-03-02 07:47:00 The Gaza 'Holocaust ' has begunWhat a shame, what an irony! The nation of Israel which is founded on the wound and being a victim of holocaust is continuously manifesting as a source of horrible holocaust of present day.Friday, Israel's deputy defense minister, Matan Vilnai promised Gaza would experience a "Shoah," and today the Israeli Defense Forces made good the minister's promise, raining tank shells, rockets, bullets, and bombs into the walled enclave, home to as many as 1.5 million Palestinians."Shoah is the Hebrew word for Holocaust, adapted from its biblical definition, "calamity." Literally, as Wikipedia defines it, the term is derived from the Greek word holokauston, meaning completely burnt, as a sacrificial offering to God. But which god would demand the broken and charred bodies that lay dead beneath the rubble of Gaza today? Sufi Shrines in America
2008-03-01 09:05:00 Shrines (also known as Dargah, Tomb, Mazar or Maqam) of highly evolved noble souls, spiritually enlightened ones and saints of God are place of Baraka or special spiritual blessings. They symbolize not only the memorializing of an insan kamil of past, but also become a sacred center of pious visitation or pilgrimage (ziyara). Such sacred space become, as reminds Osho the mystic: "... where the currents are flowing from the body towards the soul, where the whole atmosphere is charged; from where people have achieved samadhi (supra-conscious mystic state), from where people realized their enlightenment. Such places have become specially charged."Yousef W. Meri writes: "Historically, holy men and women - those revered for their exemplary piety or learning or both - have been memorialized in many forms throughout the Islamic world in North Africa and Andalusia to the sub-continent and Southeast Asia from the first century of Islam to today. Some examples of sacred centers of ziyara inclu... 1st Sufi Saint and Muslim Shrine of America
2008-03-01 08:11:00 "You must place your faith in the one indestructible, imperishable God. To do this, you must stop depending on the kings, forces, and armies within you. When you give up all this and stand defenseless and alone, saying, O God, it is all Your will! The sheikh (spiritual guide) will stand by your side. It is only when you surrender to God that the sheikh, who is the explaining wisdom of the Qutbiyyat (Divine Gnosis, Primordial Buddha nature) which guides you on the path of God, will come to stand by your side. 'Son' he will say, 'Now you are ready. Come, let us go'." - Bawa MuhaiyaddeenSome 40 miles from Philadelphia, among the rolling hills and tall trees of Chester County, is a Mazar (a shrine), the resting place of Muhammad Raheem Bawa Muhaiyaddeen, the Sufi saint and founder of the Bawa Muhaiyaddeen Fellowship, who left his physical body in 1986.This video is a 2 part series for Voice of America explores this Muslim shrine, the first in the United States. Az-Zuhd: Islamic approach on Asceticism
2008-02-28 10:08:00 Be in this worldas if you are a traveler,A passerby, with your clothesand shoes full of dust.Sometimes you will situnder the shade of a tree,Sometimes you will walk in the desert.Be a passerby always, for this world is not your home.- Prophet MuhammadFor the family of God, Az-Zuhd means to leave this world for the world-to-come, the hereafter (al-akhira), which is the true state of al-Islam; this Islam being the inner state of your life, rather than an outside one. It also means to leave this world and the hereafter for the King (al-Malik). Here you are in the station of surrender to God, which is the station (al-maqam) of Abraham, may Allah?s peace and blessings be upon him, in which all your speaking, all your time, and everything that you have will be toward Allah and for Allah alone. By this, you will reach the station of belief (al-maqam al-iman), leaving the questions of ?Why?? and ?What?? and ?Where?? and leaving the desire for either heaven or hell, and the state of your hear... The Poverty of Prophet Muhammad
2008-02-27 08:54:00 Faqr FakhriPoverty is my pride- Prophet Muhammad Ali Eteraz writes beautifully worth sharing here:(...) the abject poverty that afflicted the Prophet Muhammad . Here was a man who was subjected to such a long series of painful episodes, and survived them all so miraculously, that it was almost if God put him here on earth to disprove despair. That you could lose your parents within your first eight years and still become a man; that you could lose your family and their protectioin and still become a leader; that you could lose numerous sons in that age in which children are the most innocent and still be compassionate; that you could have stones thrown at your head till pools of blood accumulated in your shoes and still not give in to vengeance; that you could have your uncle impaled upon spears and his heart literally eaten and still forgive the killers; that you could sleep on mats of hay and still be regal; that you could be so lonely that rather than sitting in the city circles you...
Movie | Bab'Aziz - The Prince Who Contemplated His Soul
2008-02-26 06:04:00 to find the beloved, one must have faith - Bab'Aziz, the Movie (2006)A visual poem of incomparable beauty, this masterpiece from Tunisian director Nacer Khemir (Wanderers of the Desert) begins with the story of a blind dervish named Bab?Aziz and his spirited granddaughter, Ishtar. Together they wander the desert in search of a great reunion of dervishes that takes place just once every 30 years. With faith as their only guide, the two journey for days through the expansive, barren landscape. To keep Ishtar entertained, Bab?Aziz relays the ancient tale of a prince who relinquished his realm in order to remain next to a small pool in the desert, staring into its depths while contemplating his soul. As the tale of the prince unfolds, the two encounter other travelers with stories of their own ? including Osman, who longs for the beautiful woman he met at the bottom of a well, and Zaid, who searches for the ravishing young woman who fled from him after being seduced by his songs. Sufis of Kosovo and greater Balkan Europe
2008-02-23 20:07:00 Congratulations to Kosovo ! now the youngest nation on earth. Last 17th February 2008 Kosovo declared its Independence from Serbia. Following the declaration by the Kosovar Assembly several countries such as United States, Turkey, Albania, Austria, Germany, Italy, France, United Kingdom, Australia, etc. announced their recognition. Kosovo is going to be a 2nd Muslim majority Europe an nation after Turkey with more than 90% population are ethnic Albanian.Interestingly the history of Sufis m in Balkan region, including that of Kosovo is very rich. Describing Sufis | Bhai Sahib Radha Mohan Lal
2008-02-22 03:39:00 "We sufis are lovers of beauty. Because we have renounced the world, it does not mean that we should look miserable. But neither do we want to stand out and attract undue attention. We do not wear special robes, because that might create a barrier between other people and us. We behave like others and dress like others. We are ordinary people, living ordinary lives. We are smart with smart people, simple with simple ones, but we never give bad example. We will always lead a life of the highest morality. We will always obey the laws of the land in which we live; but in reality we are beyond the laws of men, for we obey only the Law of God. We surrendered somewhere; we are completely free!"- Bhai Sahib, Radha Mohan Lal. the sufi master of Naqshbandiyya Mujaddidiyya lineage from India. Secret of "why sufis don't grow old"
2008-02-21 08:49:00 for some years Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee's teachings in terms of his writings and audio, videos freely made available through Golden Sufi website have been a prominent source of inspiration for me. if i can remember correctly i am familiar with him through Golden Sufi site since 2005. but it was only last 17th February at Berkeley during Global Oneness Project event i had the honored chance to see him for the first time face to face. it was wonderful to be in the presence of someone whom you loved and followed for such a longtime remotely without seeing him really. so when i saw him on the stage the first thing that was striking to me was how young he looks compared to all his pictures and videos of past years.later in the day, at lunch table his son Emmanuel, Founder & Director of Global Oneness Project was mentioning that earlier after Llewellyn's talks someone came up to him and commented, you have a nice brother! Thoughts on carrying and transmitting consciousness | from laymen to king
2008-02-19 06:40:00 1.when it comes to carrying and transmitting consciousness, depending on the nature of the message, on the nature of age and the target audience - the transmission can be different. obviously a consciousness destined for grandness eventually reach a grand audience. but interesting to note from world teachers of humanity that there are examples where consciousness is first transmitted to the kings rather than the laymen or it can work in parallel.the mighty prophet Moses was inspired and commanded to go to the King of Egypt first to carry and speak the consciousness to and to deliver the message. instead of the ordinary / lay people it was a contrast to observe. for most of the world teachers, the carrying and transmission of the consciousness started with the ordinary. Jesus started his ministry by calling ordinary fishermen in a fishing community near the sea of galilee. his followers during his lifetime where all these ordinary people of the society. the early community of the fol... Dr. Hussain writes:... Haiti where poverty and starvation are forcing the poor and the destitute to eat mud cookies called terre made from yellow clay, salt, and vegetable oil.Haiti is not, by any stretch of imagination, the only country in the world where people are starving. Poverty and hunger are worldwide phenomena and these numbers attest to that assertion. Each year more than 80 million people die worldwide because they cannot afford to stay alive. More than 1 billion people, 1 in every 6 persons, live on less than $1 a day and a great majority of them go to bed hungry and get up hungry. There are reasons and causes galore for poverty and being lazy or unmotivated are ... She is also the author of two biographies of the Prophet, Muhammad: A Biography of the Prophet and Muhammad: A Prophet of Our Time.Quoted below is from her article: An inability to tolerate Islam contradicts western values:"In the 17th century, when some Iranian mullahs were trying to limit freedom of expression, Mulla Sadra, the great mystical philosopher of Isfahan, insisted that all Muslims were perfectly capable of thinking for themselves and that any religiosity based on intellectual repression and inquisitorial coercion was "polluted". Mulla Sadra exerted a profound influence on generations of Iranians, but it is ironic that his most famous disciple was probably Ayatollah Khomeini, author of the fatwa against Salman Rushdie. This type of contradiction is becoming increasingly frequent in our polarised world (...)(...) the cartoo... Responsing evil with hateful ignorance | Danish newpaper republish Muhammad
2008-02-13 22:58:00 No sane, intelligent person, be it muslim or non-muslim will support the handful fanatics' reaction of the willing to harm and kill the cartoonists who depicted the caricature of Muhammad . Obviously the cartoons and the caricatures were wrong in the first place as they were done with political bias with no fair understanding of Islam or the teachings of the Prophet. Those who drew such cartoons stupidly equate a handful of terrorist with the teaching of Islam, which condemn such behavior in the slightest degree let alone killing innocents. If it is terrorism, which all people of the whole world condemn, then it made much more sense to draw Osama Bin Laden instead of the Prophet. Instead of drawing caricature of Osama Bin Laden (who was infact an ex-CIA agent and supported by America while fighting the Soviets in Afghanistan not so long ago), when cartoons of a religious figure is drawn knowing the sensitivity of the faith, its no brainer to understand the lack of intellect.Danish po... 2008-02-13 08:47:00 When our beloved Prophet was asked by Allah Most High, in the secret shrine of his heart whether he would prefer to be a king prophet or a servant prophet, he answered with the fullness of divine wisdom:?a servant prophet.?Therefore we call him Muhammad Abduhu wa Rasuluhu, Muhammad the Servant and Messenger of the All-Merciful Source, may Allah?s peace be upon him forever. He declared of his own life, ?fakhri fahri - poverty is my pride.? The mystic masters interpret this to mean poverty on all levels.Outwardly, he distributed everything to the needy of his community, so that he owned nothing. He declared that if he received a mountain of wealth in the morning it would be given away by nightfall. On the inner level his poverty was also complete, and here is the true meaning of faqir. Vision of wholeness and oneness | Irina Tweedie
2008-02-10 11:56:00 THE REALIZATION that every act, every word, every thought of ours not only influences our environment but for some mysterious reason forms an integral and important part of the Universe, fits into it as if by necessity so to say, in the very moment we do, or say, or think it - is an overwhelming and even shattering experience. The tremendous responsibility of it is terrifying. If all of us only knew that the smallest act of ours, or a tiny thought, has such far-reaching effects as to set in motion forces which perhaps could shatter a galaxy...If we know it deeply and absolutely, if this realization becomes engraved permanently on our hearts, on our minds, how careful we would act and speak and think. How precious life would become in its integral oneness. And this, I think, is as far as the human mind and heart can go. It is as far as I can go at this moment in time where I am standing now. And I think that this is the ultimate Goal of Mysticism. This experience can become only deeper... More About: Vision , Irina , Wholeness , Oneness
Muhammad | the praised one
2008-02-09 21:02:00 The name, Muhammad means the praised one. The term also appears in Hebrew Bible. In the Song of Solomon (5:16) it reads: "Yea, he is altogether lovely" in English translation which in original Hebrew Bible, the word is "Muhammad-im".The image of Islam's Prophet among Muslims originates from explicit Qur'anic proclamations, such as, blessed (33:56), mercy towards all creations (21:107), emancipator of humanity (7:157), etc. According to Ibn Durayd's (837CE-933CE) Kitab al Ishtiqaq, Muhammad means one who is continuously praised. Muhammad's other name Ahmed (61:6) has similar meaning. And the Qur'an declares Muhammad to be raised to the station of praise and glory, that is, ?Maqamam Mahmood? (17:79). Still Muhammad is human (17:94) of the noblest moral character (68:4).Muhammad also became widely known in Europe by diverse forms of the name such as Mahon, Mahomés, Mahun, Mahum, and Mahumet (all French), Machmet (German), and Maúmet (Old Icelandic).Muhammad's ?sacred names,? whic...
