No King in Israel
2008-04-18 18:55:00 Judges 21:25 In those days there was no king in Israel : every man did that which was right in his own eyes. Proverbs 12:15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but he who is wise listens to counsel. Proverbs 21:2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes..." Those passages have been on my mind lately. I've certainly seen it prove true in my time on this spinning rock. People will do all kinds of sinful, wrong things and find ways to feel justified or even at peace about those things. I guess we could call it compartmentalized thinking or even sociopathic. But it's more of a journey than that. It's interesting that, as I said in another article, I recall learning in a sales training session that people buy things based on their emotions. They emotionally want something so badly that they find a way to justify it rationally. It might not really be rational, and usually isn't, but it will give them that feeling of peace about what they want to do. It might be for pride in b... More About: King
Barack Obama: The Novelty Candidate
2008-02-18 23:29:00 I took a sells training class years ago that left me with one valuable lesson: When it comes down to it, people make most decisions emotionally and then attempt to justify that decision rationally. A German research study last year confirmed it as well. So that means we'll find excuses for buying the new car even though it might put us into debt with silly interest rates for several years. And the salesman can't wait to show you how you can rationalize it all. So he'll tell you that the monthly payment will be low on that car so that you're just fine with paying $15,000 over the sticker price after the interest is added. Or, to note a current economic concern, some people might buy a house they really can't afford but want very, very badly. People were told they could have the house of their dreams and the justification was that the payment would skyrocket a few years later....but by then they would have found some way to come up with all the money they needed. So why not go ah... More About: Barack Obama , Barack , Obama , Novelty , Candidate
Thompson, Romney... I Mean Huckabee!
2008-02-08 18:30:00 Originally I was for Mike Huckabee but learned some things about Huckabee that wasn't great. Though I still personally liked Huckabee and figured he was a descent choice, I felt like my views aligned more with Fred Thompson , though Romney came in a very close second. When Fred dropped out, it was easy for me to go with Romney. Now that Romney has dropped out, I'm faced with a decision. So I'll do like James Dobson and go back to Huckabee. So, yes, I'm a Huckster now. Again.
Romney Drops Out of Race
2008-02-07 21:02:00 Well people have been asking my thoughts on Romney dropping out of the race and I'm seeing panick, frustration--all kinds of negative responses at the thought of McCain being the nominee.I don't really have a lot to say at this point. It is what it is. We don't have to decide anything for nine months. I can't decide if McCain is better for America than Hillary. I do, however, think he's better for America than Obama.Either way, I feel like I'm being force-fed McCain and I don't like that. Romney had some good things to say in his speech. He warned against America becoming the France of the 21st century, with its neo-socialist policies and called on conservatives to rise to the occasion of the challenges ahead. And boy do we ever have challenges ahead. More About: Race
John McCain is Not One of Us
2008-02-07 05:44:00 By "us" I mean conservatives. By us I mean those who value the Constitution of the United States and those who believe in the people controlling the government rather than the government controlling the people.Allow me to explain. There's a special interest group out there that some say is in the wrong party. They are called, "Republicans for Choice." Choice in this case refers to abortion which is a procedure where an unborn baby is killed by means of being sliced up or poisoned. They think people should have the right to make that choice about another humanbeing who has a beating heart, flesh and blood. I don't think anyone has that right because in addition to my deeply held beliefs about God and how He commanded us not to murder, I also believe in the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights and the Constitution of the United States. The Founding Fathers of the United States wrote that "no one shall be deprived of the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."... More About: John , John McCain
Vote for Mitt Romney
2008-02-04 23:42:00 I'll make this quick and simple. Do not vote for John McCain unless you want to pay higher taxes and see more illegal immigrants taking American jobs and trafficking drugs to our children. Ditto on Mike Huckabee, but in a less extreme way. Vote for Mitt Romney who will not raise taxes (he didn't as Governor) and will secure our borders (even chastized for his "hard-line" on illegal immigration).Don't take my word for it. Read these conservative leaders:Ann CoulterRev. Lee PetersonRev. Rob SchenckSean Hannity said, "I'll tell you right now, and I've not announced this, but I will be voting for Mitt Romney in this campaign. It's the first time I've stated it publicly. I'll state it now." (Sean Hannity Radio Show, 1/31/08.)Darlene Wagner (prolife leader)Mark LevinRush Limbaugh - "I think now, based on the way the campaign has shaken out, that there probably is a candidate on our side who does embody all three legs of the conservative stool, and that's Romney. Roe Vs. Wade Anniversary: 35 Years of Holocaust
2008-01-22 16:27:00 This is a sad day in American history. Today marks the day that the Supreme Court of the United States decided that certain people were not entitled to the "life" part of "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" that is supposed to be the right of all according to our Declaration of Independence.Mother Theresa lamented this day when she said, "Your decision in Roe v. Wade has deformed a great nation." She was right. Since then, millions have become desensitized to what is actually happening in that precedure we've disquised with the name "abortion." I remember a time when I posted pictures of aborted babies on a Christian message forum I frequent. There had been a debate about it where pro-abortion people were telling us that it really wasn't that bad. But then when confronted with the truth of the matter in actual pictures, they were offended. How dare I post such offensive pictures on a message forum! To this day I remember how stunned I was that they were more offended by p... More About: Anniversary , Holocaust , Years
Barack Hussein Obama's Church Beliefs
2007-12-28 00:18:00 Barack Hussein Obama claims membership at the Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago Illinois. Note what they say on their "about us" page:We are a congregation which is Unashamedly Black and Unapologetically Christian... Our roots in the Black religious experience and tradition are deep, lasting and permanent. We are an African people, and remain "true to our native land," the mother continent, the cradle of civilization. God has superintended our pilgrimage through the days of slavery, the days of segregation, and the long night of racism. It is God who gives us the strength and courage to continuously address injustice as a people, and as a congregation. We constantly affirm our trust in God through cultural expression of a Black worship service and ministries which address the Black Community. The Pastor as well as the membership of Trinity United Church of Christ is committed to a 10-point Vision:A congregation committed to ADORATION. A congregation preaching SALVATION. A co... More About: Beliefs , Barack
What's So Great About Christianity?
2007-12-02 06:11:00 Well I'm finally getting to see it. I'm writing this from Alaska and I must say it's even more beautiful than I imagined. I find it hard to believe that anyone who can read and write could see this wild land and assign its origin to anything but God. I was asked to review Dinesh D'Souza's new book, "What's So Great About Christianity ?" and on the flight up here I nearly finished it. When I first learned about the book I made a mental note to buy it when it hit the shelves. A few days later I had an email offering me a review copy and I accepted. It's very hard to know where to begin with this book. But I'll start by telling you that the chapters are so individually stimulating that if they were all individual books I'd go out of my way to convince you to read each one of them.Among other topics, D'Souza presents recent scientific discoveries that are causing a number of scientists who were formerly atheists to believe that a higher power created the universe. He also quote...
Democrats Clinton, Obama and Edwards Demand Pro-Abortion Judges
2007-11-21 19:27:00 Just in case anyone out there wondered where they stood, all possible Democrat candidates for President of the United States said that they would only appoint pro-abortion Supreme Court judges if elected President.Doesn't sound very diverse from a party who seems to put "diversity" above anything else. Nope, they receive a free pass from the media in discriminating against certain people on this issue. Sure, they'll remove freedom of choice from businesses by demanding they hire a certain number of people only based on specific race or a gender in the name of diversity, but when it comes to your belief on whether a mother can kill her child, they insist you share their sick view. I've heard the rare Christian Democrat defend the party by saying that not every Democrat is pro-abortion. True, while about ninety percent of elected Democrats are pro-abortion, there are about ten percent who are pro-life or who have voted positively on some sort of pro-life bill. But let's be honest,... More About: Abortion , Obama , Judges , Clinton

Pat Roberson Endorses Giuliani; Lee Wilson Endorses Huckabee
2007-11-07 16:58:00 I must admit I'm shocked by the recent news of the well-known evangelist and conservative Pat Robe rson endorsing Rudy Giuliani for President of the United States. You can read about the story here but as unbelievable as it sounds, he actually did it. I honestly can't follow his logic. Giuliani supports abortion being a "right" and, at least at one time, was a cross dresser. In addition to that, he supports homosexual "marriage." Even if you don't agree with Pat Roberson on his Christian beliefs, it's curious why he would endorse a presidential candidate so opposite his morals. What happened to voting on the issues and values that we hold dear? Has that concept been replaced by voting for whoever we think can most easily beat the other party? The Republican party certainly has the most anti-abortion voters of the two major parties and I have to wonder if they'll buy into this tonic as well. What about solid prolife candidates like Mike Huckabee or Mitt Romney. John McCain would ha... More About: Wilson
The Abortion Ticker
2007-10-11 17:47:00 Did you know that 3,589 babies are killed each day in the United States by what people refer to as "abortion." That's 1.3 million per year just in the United States alone!I recently had a forum conversation with a pro-abortion person who claimed that prolife people were hypocrites for publically objecting to abortions because that supposedly showed no "grace" for those wanting abortions. He also said that Christians did not realize that there were more people involved than "just the baby.I replied to that person with the following:"'Just' the baby? Well you are inconveinant to me right now so what if I come abort you? Cause it's "just" you and there are more people involved in the world. And don't you dare get all hypocritical and try to defend yourself or have other people there defending you. They would just be being unmerciful and ungraceful to me, your abortionist.Your 'logic' (and I use that term very loosely) is truly a circus. To quote Mother Theresa, "It is a poverty ... "House" Sees Abortion For What It Is
2007-09-19 15:56:00 Fox's hit show "House M.D." has been one I watch on increasing occasion. I have to be in the right mood to watch Hugh Laurie portray the clinically brilliant yet cynical Dr. House, but when I am the show is usually very intriguing and entertaining. This past Thursday night I wasn't particularly in the mood to watch but something kept me watching despite what I thought was only an average beginning for the show. The show typically begins with a short scene that sets up the medical mystery Dr. House will attempt to solve. In this case a woman appeared to have a stroke while taking pictures at a photo shoot. Though that didn't seem terribly mysterious or interesting to me at the time, I did not turn the channel. As the show developed I realized that I had to see how it ended. You see, the woman who had the stroke was pregnant and supposedly the stroke was caused by her baby. The first recommendation of Dr. House was to "terminate the pregnancy." The mother, however, used a totally di... More About: Abortion , Sees
Funny Video by Ken Fox
2007-09-11 20:07:00 The video below was made by one of my best buddies--Ken Fox. He is attempting to get on a new reality show that pays a large cash prize to the winner. Each person who views it basically counts as a vote to get him on the show. So please take a look and forward it on if you think it's funny....and you will. The video is "tongue-in-cheek" and even sarcastic in places. He's a good guy who loves his family so take a look. More About: Video , Funny , Funny Video
Expelled: New Ben Stein Movie
2007-08-29 20:01:00 There's a new Ben Stein Movie out called, "Expelled : No Intelligence Allowed." It's exposes the thought police in "BIG SCIENCE" and American public schools. The movie shows how schools police thought by teaching the THEORY of no-Creator evolution as if it is absolute fact. And if you dare question it or have thoughts about an alternative then you are a trouble maker.I don't mind no-Creator evolution being taught in schools as long as it is taught as a conceived possibility and NOT as fact because, afterall, it is still a THEORY. And I think that the alternative theory of intelligent design should be taught as well because science should be about looking at all the information and making up your own mind, right? I mean, what are they afraid of? If life started from absolute nothingness with no higher power than we can look at both theories and see that, right?I know why some scientists don't want kids to see another possibility--because scientists left and right are jumping off t... Another Day Older
2007-08-27 19:40:00 My little boy started kindergarten today. I still remember my first day of kindergarten, though it's much more foggy in my mind than today.Last week he and I were in a music video that will be out soon and is by a wonderful singer and song writer. I would share her name, but I'm not sure she would want me to before the video is out. When it is out, I'll have it here with a link to her website because I have really come to appreciate her music. (Update, see the Turpentine video by Brandi Carlile)My little boy was a little me in the video. A little girl portrayed the younger version of the artist performing the song. They played together and pretended to be us in flashbacks.I remember thinking to myself, "When did I stop being the little version of me?" Adults used to tell me that time flies but it never did when we were driving to grandpa's or waiting on our pizza. Time has a sneaky way of only flying by when you look back at it.This morning as I kissed him on the cheek and walke...
What? No Separation of Mosque and State?
2007-07-27 00:04:00 While some American schools rush to ban "Christmas" parties, cross necklesses and Bible clubs, others are going out of their way to allow and even promote Islam. In San Diego, an elementary school added an extra recess for Muslim children to pray. The University of Michigan has gone so far as to provide facilities for Islamic students to wash their feet before prayer--all at taxpayer expense! In California, another school hosts a curriculum called "Becoming a Muslim" as part of world history class. Can you imagine the outcry if any of those things happened with a Christian slant? Can you imagine if Christians were given an extra recess to pray? Or if a public college built a facility for Christian children to conduct a worship service? Or, perhaps most revealing of the double standard, if a public school offered a history class called, "Becoming a Christian"?When the families of the seventh graders who had to take the "Becoming a Muslim" part of their history class sued the school f... Reverse Phariseeism
2007-07-18 20:20:00 You've heard of reverse racism, right? That's when a group of people, a business, or college give special treatment to someone solely on the basis of them being black skinned or any other skin color but white. I don't know why it's called "reverse" racism because it's really just plain racism. There have been many cases where black children who grew up in wealthy homes were given government aid or scholarship directly from the college simply because of their black skin while white children who grew up in poor homes were rejected because of their white skin. If we're going to have government programs that pay for college tuition (or anything else for that matter), it should be based on economic situation and not skin color. But that's another topic for another day of enlightenment from your's truly.Today I'm talking about reverse phariseeism. Perhaps you've met someone who is a reverse phariseeist. The hit TV show "My Name is Earl" featured a reverse phariseeist. It was Ea... More About: Hari
Tiny Tablet Shows Old Testament has Credibility
2007-07-16 21:41:00 Good. Faith is great, but God also gave us brains to be logical and acquire facts. So it's nice again to see that the Bible is correct on even minor historcial details. I'm talking about the report at http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtm l?xml=/news/2007/07/11/ntablet111.xmlMich ael Jursa, a visiting professor to the British Museum from Vienna, was looking through a collection of 130,000 Assyrian cuneiform tablets dating back 5000 years. According to the report, "He made what has been called the most important find in Biblical archaeology for 100 years, a discovery that supports the view that the historical books of the Old Testament are based on fact."Basically, the tablet is a bill of receipt acknowledging Nabu-sharrussu-ukin's payment of 0.75 kg of gold to a temple in Babylon. How does that give credibility to the biblical record you ask?The tablet is dated to the 10th year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar II, 595BC, 12 years before the siege of Jerusalem. Burned Out
2007-06-03 05:33:00 Note: This post was on my myspace blog and written during a work day a few weeks back.Yesterday I read about a college football player who quit his team. He was a highly sought after player coming out of high school and had the elite programs recruiting him. As a freshmen, he saw time on the field and made some amazing hits.I was excited about this guy because he played for my favorite team. But he quit because, as I've been told, he was "burned out" on football. I can't blame him. I remember feeling the same way about football when I was in high school. I also felt it at times for basketball and golf because I had played them since I was so young that I can't even remember the first time I played any of them. I quit two of them my senior year of high school because I was simply burned out.Burn ed out. What a phrase. When we say that are we saying it was the flame itself that burned up everything we had to give to something? Or was it that the very flame that led me to p...
Using God as a Trump Card
2007-06-03 05:29:00 If you have never played Rook, a trump card is one that beats all the other cards. So we're clear on that. It annoys me when someone tries to use God as a trump card. An example: "I know that this is right because God laid it on my heart." What can you say to that? Honestly? I've known of an adulteress to say, "God just wants me to be happy." Or "God led me to this man, so I can't go back to my husband." So God led you to break one of His commandments and the vow you made to your husband? Talk about self justification! Then there are people who say that God laid it on their heart to do this or that as far as a business decision, what car to buy, school to attend, etc. And again, there's no arguing with them because in their minds you are arguing with God. So if their plan falls through, then was God wrong? So the point is this--don't use God as a trump card. God gave us brains to think. That way we can make our own decisions without blaming Him when we make the wro... More About: Card , Trump
