2008-03-13 10:57:00 I watched an hour-long video of an interview that Guy Kawasaki , the Apple guy, did with Steve Ballmer, the Microsoft guy at a Microsoft event, no less, called Mix 08. It was a painful dance to watch Guy interview Steve and ask a lot of really difficult questions, many of which Steve struggled to answer. ... More About: World , Steve Ballmer , The World
Tim Stevens perspective on leadership
2008-03-12 10:19:00 Tim Stevens is the x-pastor @ Granger Community. He had this great perspective on how far this whole “leadership thing” should expend into your life. I think that leadership translates beyond your professional career. A real leader pays attention to his/her marriage, gives time to his/her kids, and invests in relationships that matter. A real ... 2008-03-11 16:14:00 ?It is extraordinary power from God, not talent, that wins the day. It is extraordinary spiritual unction not extraordinary mental power, that we need. 2008-03-08 14:04:00 Attending church tomorrow ought to be a decision you’ve already made. Fosterism:
2008-03-05 10:29:00 “A mission that can attract missionaries is a movement. 10 Ways Angry People Change the World
2008-03-04 08:44:00 Things change. But whether they change for the better or not depends on what people do; not just any kind of people, but angry people. Yes, you heard it right. It?s angry people who change the world. Comfortable, satisfied, stuck-in-a-rut, trying-to-protect-my-turf people don?t change the world. They nurse the status ... Yet Another Christian Leader Calls for Christians to Pull Out of All Public
2008-02-21 20:27:00 I read this week that another so-called Christian leader says the time has come that all Christians should abandon public schools. His excuses are the same as the others. The schools are too far gone, too ungodly, and too immoral to be redeemed. Therefore, the only thing a true Christian can do is retreat ... More About: Public , Calls , Leader

Today @ The Gathering - February 17th
2008-02-18 02:29:00 Today @ The Gathering we started our brand new series, “Angry In America.” During the next five weeks we’ll deal with the question, “If we have it made in America, why are so many so angry so often?” . In today’s installment we dealt with the five most misleading myths about anger. These are supposedly the truth statements about anger that make anger some mysterious emotion that we don’t really know how to deal with. The five anger myths are: 1. Anger is avoidable. 2. Anger is bad. 3. Anger is always destructive. 4. Anger should never be expressed. 5. Anger can be managed. The rest of the talk dealt with the three ways we express anger. And last, how we can calmly, rationally, and with maturity address our anger. This was a great start to this new 5-part series. If you know someone who can benefit from this subject, make sure you give them a personal invitation to either our 9:00 or 10:30 service next week when the message will be, “I’m Angry Bec... Five Guys Serve a Lot More Than a Great Burger; An Even Greater Attitude
2008-02-11 18:23:00 There’s a new restaurant that recently opened in the Green Hills area called “Five Guys Burger s.” I wasn’t that impressed. It didn’t look very inviting. But I kept hearing really good things about them, so I decided to check them out. When I went in I was overwhelmed with how clean the place is, and while it was simple, it was inviting. People who waited on me were happy, well informed, knew exactly how to give me what I needed, and when I ate my food I was very satisfied. Great burger, great fries, great everything. The thing that really topped the experience off was when I went to get my drink I saw a sign on each one of the soda fountains. It was a “thank you” note to the customers. A “thank you” note? I’ve never read a “thank you” note in all the places I’ve eaten and all the times I’ve gone out. They actually thank me for coming in? They actually thank me for giving them my money? Wow, what a concept! What a cutting-edge marketing ploy to... More About: Attitude , Serve
Today @ The Gathering - February 10th
More articles from this author:2008-02-10 23:51:00 Today @ The Gathering we completed our series “Finding My Motivation” with the message, “The 4 Essentials of an Energetic Life: How to keep what you’d pay a fortune to get back once you lose it.” . Like our creator, we are a trinity. We have a body, which houses a soul and a spirit. Those are the three parts. We’re not a single unit. And any time you have more than two of anything, alignment is critical. So today we talked about bringing our lives into alignment with the way God created us. We began the talk today with the three worldviews that relate to material things. We talked about the Greek influence, which is expressed in the word “bad.” Basically all material things are bad and lead to evil, and cannot be controlled and therefore they are to be ignored and just simply let loose. The Roman influence which expressed the view of material in the spiritual combination as “big deal.” Neither one really matter. The material world is there to be exploited...
