2007-02-15 05:42:01 Happy Valentine s Day everyone. I wrote an entry awhile ago about the lovers and figured I would repost it today. The entry was entitled "When The Love rs Just Don't Make Sense". We all understand "The Lover s Of The Major Arcana" & "The Two Of Cups" represent love interests. However, they do sometimes appear in a reading and they just don't fit into the love category. When This happens you can use this as an alternative. You will find the article below the picture I posted. Sometimes The Lovers card can be a tricky one to read. It often pops up in a reading and you know it has nothing to do with love or relationships. So outside of the obvious "I see a new relationship brewing", "marriage on the horizon" or "the reckindling of romance" lets look at The Lovers card in a different light. When this King arrives upright in a reading it usually means a business partner, lawyer, or powerful person that will be of benefit to the querent. This could be a coming business deal, or some type of legal matter. This King in the upright postition is a good omen for people with questions about business partners or legal representation. In the reversed postion, the King will likely represent someone that is about to do a disservice to the querent in matters of business or law. 2006-12-09 16:55:05 Here's the storm update. It would seem the storm just about missed us. We got very little effects from it. I guess we still have another one on the way , but my readings show no signs of the Five Of Pentacles. I am still going to post that card in this blog every time it appears. 2006-12-02 16:50:02 There is a lot of information about tarot cards out there. It leaves the beginner with the question of where to start? The first thing you need to do is get your own deck of tarot cards. There are a lot of decks out there, so pick one that you feel comfortable with. I choose the Rider Waite deck based on a suggestion from a friend. The cards seem very easy to read based on the symbology of both the major and minor arcana. Most places that sell cards will have a sample pack you can look at. If you shop on the internet, you can usually see a few pictures of the cards in the deck. Pick a deck that calls out to you and you can relate with. The next thing you need to do is study your cards. With 78 cards in the deck that?s a lot to ask of anyone. If you take reversals into account that?s 156 meanings to memorize. Your best bet is to pick one card out of the deck each day to meditate on. Although we should always be grateful to Spirit, God or whatever you want to call your higher power, we often take our abundance and good fortune for granted. On this day we give thanks for blessings both big and small. We can appreciate a family meal, good conversation, good food, wine & beer, football, the new flat screen TV and all the other wonderful things in our lives. I thought it would be nice to go through the cards and pick out the ones that remind me the most of this holiday. So here we go.... The Wheel Of Fortune brings success, abundance and good fortune into our lives. We should always be thankful for a positive turn of the wheel. 2006-12-02 16:50:02 There are lots of sites that do internet readings on there websites. One of my favorites is BYZANT.COM.This site has a pretty good online tarot program that gives free readings. I originally started playing around with online readings as a way to help me learn card interpretations. Its also a good way to learn some different types of spreads. I found byzant.com to be easy to use, have good interpretations of the cards, and they have a number of different spreads to choose from. Are online readings accurate? To some degree they must be. If we look at a random number generator the same way we look at shuffling the cards there must be some type of accuracy in the cards selected. If you focus on your question and press the read button to cut the cards it technicly is the same thing. Is it as accurate as a human reading? A computer program really can't give you the intuitive reading a human can. You recieve a strictly by the book reading.If this cards here in relation to this positio... 2006-12-02 16:50:02 O.K. from now on when the Five Of Penta cles shows up in a personal reading I am going to post it immediately to this blog. If you go back to the October readings, when the Five Of Pentacles showed up we got hit with a major storm. Last night I did a past, present and future reading and again the Five Of Pentacles showed up in the future position. This was the same position it showed up in the last time in the exact same type of spread. Once again a major storm is forecasted for this area. I am preparing for the worst. The last time this card showed up in this position we got slammed with a storm that knocked out power to over 300,000 people. In the Rider - Waite deck the Five Of Pentacles shows two homeless people trudging through the snow. Now I always read the Five Of Pentacles as a card of financial ruin, or at least in it's upright position a fear of financial loss. 2006-12-02 16:50:02 One thing I have found researching tarot, there are as many ways to read the cards, as there are interpretations. Many people read reversals different. Some people ignore reversals all together. Others give credit to some reversals and ignore others. Which way is correct? When it comes to the subject of reversals I don't think there really is a correct way. I think with all things tarot related, we should always trust our instincts. A good tarot reader not only reads the cards but also relies heavily on intuition. Try and look at reversals in this way. If the cards have been thoroughly shuffled they should be in some sort of a random order. Some cards are upright others get shuffled upside down. This should give you a decent amount of reversals in the deck. The spread is laid out from the shuffled deck and just about every card in the spread is in its reversed position. I thought it would be appropriate to talk a little about the Death card. There seems to be a bit of confusion surrounding this card of death. I recently paid a visit to a site that said "death means physical death and that?s that! ". I really don't agree with that statement at all. I felt today would be the perfect day to shed some light on this dark debate of the Death card. When reading the death card I think it's very important to really look at the cards surrounding it. 2006-12-02 16:50:02 I've always had a hard time reading some of the court cards. The Page s and Queens seem to give me the most trouble. Today I would like to focus on the Page of cups. I interpret the Page cards to have the personality and characteristics of a teenager entering adulthood. The Page could be someone you know or highlight aspects of your own behavior. He usually arrives in a reading as a messenger bringing great news. The Page carries with him the main characteristics of his suit with a child like quality. Don't let the Page fool you , he may be unsure of himself from time to time but he has the strength, courage and enthusiasm to live up to any task.
