Ramadan - The Month of Mercy.
2007-09-18 10:03:00
"Ramadan is a month whose beginning is Mercy , whose middle is Forgiveness and whose end is freedom from the fire."-Hadith of the Prophet (pbuh)Mercy > Forgiveness > Freedom from FirePonder on the inherent logical sequence ( subhanAllah ) of the above! We cannot be exempt from fire without first being forgiven. And to be forgiven, we must be graced by Allah's mercy. The first one third of Ramadan (10days ) is MERCY from Allah1. Can we expect to receive mercy if we only deprive our bodies of food and drink? Of course not. Because Ramadan is meant for SPIRITUAL development through fasting. Physiologically, by fasting the body eliminates toxins efficiently and the mind becomes clear for "power thinking" so that one may ponder on the meaning of the Qur'an, Hadith and the necessity of Zhikr. One must also do some self-analysis to monitor and correct one's behaviour if necessary. With meditation the mind becomes quiet and so should our tongues!2. Allah is looking for a sincere commitment...

Ramadan: Month of Holy Quran
2007-09-14 12:22:00
Fasting in the month of Ramadan , like Namaaz (prayers) is a divine command. Allah says in the Holy Quran , "O you who believe! Fasting is prescribed for you, as it was prescribed for those before you, so that you may guard (against evil)." (2:183)It was reserved for Islam to formulate and perfect a form of spiritual purification for every one of its followers, notwithstanding the state of society they belonged to, and which could be performed without interfering with their normal avocations and callings in every day life.Whatever calling or vocation he is engaged in, does not hinder a Muslim from carrying out this annual requirement of the Faith, the fast of this month of Ramadan, which incidentally, is also one of the five cardinal points of Islamic tenet. The Muslim fast means a complete abstention from eating or drinking between daybreak and sunset. The sighting of the thin sickle of the new moon of Ramadan heralds for the Muslim the beginning of a month of glory and of spiritual e...

Welcoming the Ramadan
2007-09-14 07:16:00
Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) Sermon on welcoming the month of Ramadhan. O People! The month of Allah (Ramadhan) has approached you with His mercy and blessings. This is the month that is the best of all months in the estimation of Allah. Its days are the best among the days; its nights are the best among the nights. Its hours are the best among the hours. This is a month in which he has invited you. You have been, in this month, selected as the recipients of the honors of Allah, the Merciful. In this holy month, when you breathe, it has the Sawab/thawab (heavenly reward) of 'Tasbeeh' (the praise of Allah on rosary beads), and your sleep has the thawab of worship.Your good deeds are accepted in this month. So are your invocations. Therefore, you must invoke your Lord, in right earnest, with hearts that are free from sins and evils, that Allah may bless you, observe fast, in this month, and recite the Holy Quran.Verily! The person who may not receive the mercy and benevolence of Allah...

Those who Fast will be Called from the Gate of al-Rayyaan
2007-09-12 12:31:00
From Islam Q&A, by Sheikh Muhammed Salih Al-Munajjid (http://www.islam-qa.com/)Praise be to Allaah.Firstly:Allaah has enjoined upon the Muslims fasting the month of Ramadaan, and He has promised a great reward to those who fast. Because the virtue of fasting is so great, Allaah has not specified the reward for it, rather He said ? in a hadeeth qudsi ??? except for fasting, for it is for Me, and I shall reward for it.?The virtues of the month of Ramadaan are many. For example, that which Allaah has promised those who fast, namely the gate of al-Rayyaan. This is the name which was narrated in the hadeeth whose authenticity is agreed upon. Sahl (may Allaah be pleased with him) said that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:?In Paradise there is a gate called al-Rayyaan, through which those who used to fast will enter on the Day of Resurrection, and no one but they will enter it. It will be said, ?Where are those who fasted?? They will get up, and none will enter...

2007-09-09 08:24:00
The news in Emails, online Forums is spreading like fire all around that Astronaut Sunita Williams accepted Islam recently after visiting on the Moon. Sunita Williams is the first women from Indian origin visited on Moon.Well...this may be rumor, as if she would have accepted Islam, then it would be a main headlines on the news channel. But one thing is very interesting that... When the scientists at NASA, took the pictures from their space satellites, whole world appeared to be dark except Makkah shareef and Medina shareef.Have a look here:My appeal:As there is no such news from official sources, I request my muslim brothers to do not spread this rumor that she embraced Islam... coz Islam itself is against spreading rumors.

The Significance of Shabe Baraat
2007-08-28 15:00:00
The Significance of Shabe BaraatThis night is called Shabe-Baraat ( the night of freedom ) because Allah frees all His sinful servants who were destined for Jahannam (Hell). The Quraan has called it a blessed night.Nabi has said in a Hadith regarding this month. "Shabaan is my month and Ramadhaan is the month of Allah."This month is an introduction to Ramadhaan, like Shawwal hail the end of Ramadhaan.Allah Ta'ala 's mercy decends during this night.During this night, beginning at sunset Allah Ta'ala 's special attention descends upon the first sky. He proclaims:Is there anyone seeking forgiveness, that I may pardon him?Is there anyone requesting sustenance that I may provide for him?Is there anyone afflicted with difficulty (so that he may ask for assistance) that I may help him?Is there anyone with any other need?Allah Ta'ala showers His mercy the entire night up until Subah Saadiq (early morning - dawn).Nabi was so mindful of Sha'baan that he did not give the sighting...
Sunnat and Mustahab actions during the 15th of Sha'baan
2007-08-28 14:36:00
One should stay awake and perform Salaah (Namaaz/Prayer), keep oneself busy with Zikr, recitation of the Holy Quraan and other worship. Do also recite the Masnoon Du'a of this night excessively. (Dua on para # 7).To ask Allah Ta'ala for forgiveness, health, happiness and all our needs for this world and the Hereafter. To busy onself with Ibaadat (worship) during the entire night of Shabe Baraat. It is Mustahab (preferable) to fast on the 15th of Sha'baan. Our predecessors did so too.One should visit the Qabarastaan (graveyard) and make Du'a and seek forgiveness on behalf of the deceased. It is stated in a Hadeeth that Nabi said "One who performs Esha salaat with Jamaat and Fajr Salaah with Jamaat, Allah Ta'ala will grant him the reward of staying the night." There are glad tidings for the weak and those engaged in business, that if they are not able to stay awake the entire night, they should try to remain awake as much as possible and to perform Fajr and Esha Salaatwith Jamaat, s...

Description of the Prophet
2007-08-16 08:43:00
In order to understand the message of Islam, it is first necessary to acquaint ourselves with the prophet of Islam. You cannot, as the popular saying goes, separate the message from the messenger. It is therefore only natural to wish to study the life of Muhammad (pbuh), his manners and his morals, and to see how Islam manifested itself in his person as a living example for all Muslims till the end of time.Abu Hurairah described him as follows:"He was of medium build, closer to being tall. His skin was extremely white, his beard was black, his mouth was pleasant, his eyebrows were long, and his shoulders were wide"Ibne Malik said:"I never touched silk or any soft fabric equal to the softness of his palm, and I never smelled a scent more pleasing than his."Hind ibn Abi Hala (the son of Muhammad's wife Kadijah) described Muhammad (pbuh) as follows:"The Messenger of Allah was of consecutive sorrows, continuous thought, never finding rest, long in silence. He did not speak without caus...

Al-Aqsa Masjid, Jerusalem
2007-08-11 14:57:00
Masjid Al-Alqsa also known as Dome of the Rock of Jerusalem is the beautiful shrine built over the rock more than 1300 years ago by the Muslim Umayyad Caliph AbdulMalek bin Marwan. It was completed in 691 AD, 6 years after building commenced. It is the second oldest masjid in Islam after the Ka'ba in Makkah, and is third in holiness and importance after the Masjid in Makkah and Medina.Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa is an Arabic name which means the Farthest Masjid. To understand its name, and its importance, it must be remembered that the roots of Islam began in the Arabian Peninsula (Saudi Arabia today). Ten years after the Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) received his first revelation, he made a miraculous night journey from Makkah to Jerusalem and to the Seven Heavens on a white flying horse called Al-Buraq El-Sharif in 623/624 AD. During his interval in Jerusalem, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) stopped to pray at the rock (now covered by the golden Dome), and was given the commandment to pray five time...

The Last Sermon of Prophet Muhammad (SAW)
2007-08-11 06:42:00
"Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you. Remember that you will indeed meet your Lord, and that He will indeed reckon your deeds."This sermon was delivered on the Ninth Day of Dhul Hijjah 10 A.H. in the 'Uranah valley of Mount Arafat' (in Mecca). After praising, and thanking God he said:"O People, lend me an attentive ear, for I know not whether after this year, I shall ever be amongst you again. Therefore listen to what I am saying to you very carefully and take these words to those who could not be present here today.O People, just as you regard this month, this day, this city as Sacred, so regard the life and property of every Muslim as a sacred trust. Return the goods entrusted to you to their rightful owners. Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you. Remember that you will indeed meet your Lord, and that He will indeed reckon your deeds. God has forbidden you to take usury (interest), therefore all interest obligation shall henceforth be waived. Your capital, however, is yours...

"Religion is very easy and whoever overburdens himself in his religion will not be able to continue in that way. So you should not be extremists, but try to be near to perfection and receive the good tidings that you will be rewarded." Sahih Bukhari, Volume 1, Book 2, Number 38"It is better for a leader to make a mistake in forgiving than to make a mistake in punishing." Al-Tirmidhi, Hadith 1011" '...what is the best type of Jihad [struggle].' He answered: 'Speaking truth before a tyrannical ruler.' " Riyadh us-Saleheen Volume 1:195"...you should show courtesy and be cordial with each other, so that nobody should consider himself superior to another nor do him harm." Riyadh-us-Saleheen. Hadith 602."Anyone who believes in God and the Last Day (of Judgment) should not harm his neighbor. Anyone who believes in God and the Last Day should entertain his guest generously. And anyone who believes in God and the Last Day should say what is good or keep quiet." Sahih Al-Bukhari, Volume 8...

Hadiths: Sayings of Muhammad (SAW)
2007-08-08 12:57:00
Definition of "hadith:"Hadith s are regarded as a narration on the Sunnah (lived example) of Muhammad (SAW).M.M. Azami formally defines "hadith" as follows:"According to Muhaddithiin [scholars of hadith] it stands for 'what was transmitted on the authority of the Prophet, his deeds, sayings, tacit approval, or description of his sifaat (features) meaning his physical appearance. However, physical appearance of the Prophet is not included in the definition used by the jurists.' ""Thus hadith literature means the literature which consists of the narrations of the life of the Prophet and the things approved by him. However, the term was used sometimes in much broader sense to cover the narrations about the Companions [of the Prophet] and Successors [to the Companions] as well."The Qur'an says:"And whatever the Messenger gives you, take it, and whatever he forbids you, leave it. And fear Allah: truly Allah is severe in punishment." The Messenger refers here to the Prophet Muhammad. Th...

The Creator's Signature
2007-07-30 11:19:00
The scriptures are not the only mathematically composed creations of God where the number 19 is the common denominator. It is profound indeed that Galileo made his famous statement: "Mathematics is the language with which God created the universe." A plethora of scientific findings have now shown that the number 19 represents God's signature upon certain creations. This divine stamp appears throughout the universe in much the same manner as the signature of Michelangelo and Picasso identify their works. For example: 1. The sun, the moon, and the earth become aligned in the same relative positions once every 19 years (see ENCYCLOPEDIA JUDAICA under "Calendar").2. Halley's comet, a profound heavenly phenomenon, visits our solar system every 76 years, 19x4. 3. God's stamp on you and me is manifested in the fact that the human body contains 209 bones, 19x11. 4. LANGMAN'S MEDICAL EMBRYOLOGY, by T. W. Sadler, is used as a textbook in most of the Medical Schools in the U.S.A. On Page 88...

"Quran Alone" Mathematically Coded
2007-07-27 11:23:00
The 19th occurrence of the word ?Qur'an? is in verse 17:46 of the Qur'an. It is used in reference to the ?Quran alone." The 19 verses that contain the word "Qur'an" till 17:46 are:1. [2:185]2. [4:82]3. [5:101]4. [6:19]5. [7:204]6. [9:111]7. [10:37]8. [10:61]9. [12:2]10. [12:3]11. [13:31]12. [15:1]13. [15:87]14. [15:91]15. [16:98]16. [17:9]17. [17:41]18. [17:45]19. [17:46] We place shields around their minds, to prevent them from understanding it, and deafness in their ears. And when you preach your Lord, using the Qur'an alone, they run away in aversion.If we add the numbers of verses where the word "Quran" occurs including the 19th occurrence, we get 1254 (19 x 66) [185 + 82 + 101 + 19 + 204 + 111 + 37 + 61 + 2 + 3 + 31 + 1 +87 + 91 + 98 + 9 + 41 + 45 + 46] If we multiply each chapter number by the verse number then add all the results, we end up with a total that is also divisible by 19: 118...

Forgiveness In Islam
2007-07-25 12:38:00
By: N. Ali(Adapted from: Al-Noor, Vol 1, No. 6, Jamadi Al-Thani, 1412 A.H. - Dec. 1991 A.D. pp 10-11)This subject has been discussed in a booklet entitled "Pardon in Islam " published by Be'that Foundation. In many verses while using different modes of expression, the Holy Qur'an has recommended moral issues to us and praised the prophets for possessing such merits as patience, adherence to promises, forgiveness, modesty and good manners.Forgiveness is an attribute which has received due attention in Islam and which has been extensively discussed in the Holy Qur'an, and hadiths (Islamic traditions). The forgiveness desired by Islam is that we forgive when we have the power to take revengeForgiveness signifies overlooking the offence and sin of a person who has purposefully or mistakenly done you wrong, such as insulting you by his words, beating you up or exacting your property. Ignoring all these issues and not committing this wrong is called "forgiveness".Forgiveness is of two typ...
