An allegory is a story that has two levels of meaning: the obvious, literal one and an underlying symbolic, figurative meaning. Both levels are important, but those with wisdom are able to see what is presented and hear the message. Why did Jesus use them? Recently while going through Hebrews, I started taking a closer look at this person Melchizedek.He is called the king of (Jeru)-Salem and priest of God most high Heb 7:1This great high priest is linked to the Christ, however, in Heb 7:1 it says that he met Abraham returning from the defeat of the kings and blessed him and Abraham gave him a tenth of everything. The chapter goes into greater detail about the patriarch Abraham gave him a tenth of the plunder. How is it possible for Jesus, the Christ to have received physical gifts from Abraham, the patriarch from the Old Testament.In Genesis 17:1-5, we learn that Abraham's former name before God changed it, was Abram.Melchidezek brought out bread and wine after Abram returned from defeating Kedorlaomer and the kings allied with him. In case you were wondering, prayer is something that has to be done daily in the Christian life. There can be no other way around it and it is the gateway to the spiritual life. With the commencement of the prayer life, your experience a spiritual re-birth and so are born again(of your spirit). When your prayer life dries up your spirit becomes dormant after a short space of time. You cannot stay born-again if you quit the spiritual life. It is especially imperative to understand why prayer must be done nightly. Each time a man goes to sleep, he enters the spiritual realm. He is no longer in flesh, but in spirit. Because of the dangers which lurk in the spiritual realm, it is vital that he enter with a prayer covering that requests protection and healing/deliverance. The will is the helm, so to speak, of our lives. Passivity of the will originates from a wrong concept of what full surrender to God means. When a believer thinks that a surrendered will to God means no use of the will at all, then he ceases to choose, determine, and act on his own volition. The serious effect of this, is that the powers of darkness do not allow him to discover his state, for at first the consequences are trivial and hardly noticeable. In fact, at first, it may appear to be most glorifying to God. The strong willed person suddenly becomes passively yielding. He thinks that God is “will-ing” for him in circumstances and through people, and so he becomes passively helpless in action. After a time, no choice can be gotten from him in matters of daily life, no decision or initiative in matters demanding action. He is afraid to express a wish, much less a decision. Total onslaught against the ministry

In earlier postings I mentioned the ongoing Satanic warfare against the saints who are entrusted with the knowledge of salvation. Some of these people are not even close to being in the ministry, yet are so chronically ill and depressed that there is virtually no hope of them reaching their potential. The have no idea who they are or why they are on earth. They have fallen asleep in Christ. Many of them feel suicidal and because they feel lost and without purpose there is a huge tendancy for these people to seek relief from the gnawing inner pain, by indulging in drugs, alcohol and other sinful activities which allow evil spirits to lead them further and further away from God. Christians are as open to deception by evil spirits as other people. In my opinion possibly more so in some cases because they can have an attitude of infallibility bordering on arrogance. In the majority of cases they have unknowingly fulfilled the conditions upon which evil spirits work. When I was at school, religion was drummed into me by repetition. I went to an Anglican college where daily services were mandatory, except for Saturdays and Tuesdays.Only geeks and goody-goody's attended voluntary services and I was far to cool for that.Although I never felt close to God at the time, there was certainly a tremendous atmosphere in our large but stark Byzantine-styled chapel. Huge domed ceilings, thick columns and a massively reverberating organ all contributed to heighten the sense of grandeur and ceremony. I knew there was a God, even then. Somehow it was inextricably linked to my religious routine.I used to love singing psalms and hymns with my fellow classmates, especially psalm no. 150, which used to make me break out in goose bumps. If you are already in paradise, how does it get better? However there is something that he doesn't have much of and that is human fellowship. I feel that I have spent so much time listing my thoughts that I have not really stopped to find out if there is anyone who is dealing with spiritually complicated issues.Although some of the things I have said seem unreal or far-fetched, they have all proved to be true in my own experience. I might not be able to answer your questions, but perhaps I might be able to give you a different view, or shed some light on things that you are finding difficult to deal with.I have walked a very painful walk and having come from the brink of death, I know how tough it can be. I have discussed this with a few Christians and the general consensus seems to be that the fallen nature is something which has become ingrained in our biological makeup. I feel very strongly that we are erroneously looking at sin as something which we just have to accept as being part of our humanity. This is totally untrue and we must face the consequences of our own actions. What I'd like to bring to people's attention, is that constant engagement is sinful activities is much more to do with the fact that we do not see the direct results of a sin on our spirits. This is where the problem lies. Let me explain myself better; God created the universe and set it in motion through the establishment of divine laws. It is especially important that believers keep an open mind to new knowledge. You can't simply ignore something because it pushes you out of your comfort zone. Much of the time, believers are doggedly hanging onto rigid church-induced mindsets. Growth is unpleasant because there is discomfort involved and we don't like to admit that we were wrong about something. It is crucial for believers also to understand that they should have the discernment necessary to distinguish between contrary powers. Many are simply surrendering their wills to the powers of the unseen world and are therefore at risk because they fail to take into account that there are other powers in the spiritual realm. Blind obedience to the spirit of God has also resulted in the complete destruction of many of God's children because it allows deceiving spirits to gain a foothold It would be wise for believers to be careful with certain scriptural passages which at first glance seem to imply passive obedience. In her book, “War on the Saints”, Jessie Penn-Lewis looks at some of the dangers facing the church in these times. Although I am going to add my own experience later, I sincerely feel that believers need to take a good look at the background theory which has inspired me and provided a priceless foundation to my own deliverance walk. She states that “In the special onslaught of the deceiver, which will come upon the true church of Christ at the close of the age, there are some who will be attacked by the powers of darkness more than others. The NT scriptures allude to Paul being a prisoner during phases of his Christian life. Although he certainly was put behind bars for disturbing the peace in many of the places he preached, there is more to the word prisoner than first meets the eye.In the scriptures there is mention of Paul having an illness. The purpose of each Christian is to become purged from sin spiritually. The saints, are simply those people who have become sanctified by the work of Espiritu Sanctus (The Holy spirit) Once Christ became Sanctified, he could sanctify others and in the process, make them Holy also.
