The flame of blame
2008-05-03 19:13:00
I don’t know about the rest of you, but past months have had some wild emotional swings to it, and some days I’ve felt as depressed and dark as I have felt in my life. It doesn’t help that my mobility is very limited by this illness which continues, of course! One big issue of ...

Balancing the centers of your body, part 2
2008-04-28 17:13:00
This is second of a two part series. For the preceding article, see part 1. To summarize the previous article, having an imbalance of centers will restrict the perception of what choices are available. If you are imbalanced towards one center, you will only see possibilities based in that center, even if they are ...

Balancing the centers of your body, part 1
2008-04-28 03:51:00
This was part of a work I started for a workshop in Tuscon I helped lead with Karen. This is slightly different than what I’ve written about in the past, but related enough! This is also on the channeling wiki site as well as Karen’s professional channeling site. Centers and Balancing Them Centers are a ...

The man who kept talking
2008-03-12 00:39:00
Karen Murphy does channeled messages every month, and this one was wonderful: a parable with a lot of meaning attached to it. I thought I’d celebrate her new website by posting it here. The new website is orders of magnitude more friendly, professional, welcoming, and has a lot more channeling organized. ...

I ?should? heal and grow.
2008-03-05 19:50:00
I’m in my own process now, getting physically sicker, and wondering why there’s no shifting in this. This led to the following channeled question (from me, channeled by Karen Murphy) which I think is rather universal, so I’m posting it here. Question: I am really frustrated at my progress towards inner peace and balance. ...

I love you, you?re perfect, now change. Happy Valentines day!
2008-02-18 17:56:00
We?ve all heard that you cannot love another more than you love yourself. What I?m saying is you cannot love anything more than the permission that exists to not love it.

True Rest

Slavery in our lives - Martin Luther King Jr day
2008-01-22 05:03:00
In the United States today is Martin Luther King day. This man, through the work of millions of other people, has come to symbolize human rights and a desire to end slavery’s legacy in all forms. He understood, as do others, that slavery still exists in different forms even now. It ...

What is enlightenment?
2008-01-17 04:28:00
The following was a question received from Mary which is wonderful and brings a lot of common ideas out into the open: Question: I’ve come across the topic of enlightenment so often lately that I’d like a clear perspective on it. I find the idea confusing because it seems to be a worthy aim for ...

What is healing, exactly?
2008-01-14 02:12:00
Healing, then, allows those parts of you to revert to their ?normal? state: A state of rest, a state without conflict, a state of peace.

Letting go
2008-01-08 12:15:00
The paradox of surrender is that the more you surrender to uncomfortable experiences, the more you will rest in joy. This is not truly a paradox, but merely an expression of what joy is. Joy is your natural state; a state of not resisting. Whenever there is no resistance, no matter what is the experience, there will be a quality of joy.

The essence of compassion part 2
2008-01-03 03:13:00
It is impossible to be accepting of trauma happening to others without accepting the possibility of it happening to you. This is empathy. Denying this possibility of pain and violence to yourself may temporarily create a sense of safety in your mind, but it also disconnects you from others who have this experience.

The essence of compassion (channeled)
2007-12-29 21:19:00
Let us speak to you today on the topic of compassion. Understand that when we use this term, we would like to refer to it as ?an expression of Love?. Compassion is, in our perception, a melding of one?s energy with another?s. A combining to create something new that didn?t exist before. This new creation of energy as a combination of yours and another?s unites you, creates a bond between you. Over time, this act of creation between two people takes on a life of its own in some ways. But regardless of the length of time of the melding of energies, there does exist to varying degrees an understanding, awareness, acknowledgement, and acceptance of the state the other is in at that present moment. This acceptance for the state of another, whatever state that may be, is what we see as compassion.
Trusting Perceptions and Higher Communication
2007-12-26 17:21:00
One of the most fundamental aspect of any growth or spiritual path is the trust in your own perception. There is no question it is incomplete; so long as you have a body, you will not see even a miniscule fraction of the totality and even your Self. But it is still your perception. It is the basis for growth, for if you rely on someone else?s eyes, you are not living your own life, discovering your own Truth, but are being a guinea pig for other?s experiments with Truth.

Interconnectedness of being
2007-12-08 07:08:00
If you look at life like a poet, seeing beauty in the simplest things, you do not need to go anywhere to find beauty. You can see that within manure, a flower is waiting to be born. It is not in the future as an abstract concept; it is there now, in its fullest potential. Within an acorn lying on the forest floor is a magnificent flowering tree. If you listen closely, you can feel the tree whisper to you from inside the acorn, with its majestic tranquility. Within a storm inflicting damage on a community is also the breathtaking beauty of sun squirming its way through the clouds to a new dawn, bringing new energy and a re-creation of what we thought was perfect, but has new perfection to expand upon us.
Emotions as beauty itself
2007-12-03 05:41:00
For this post, I’ll include more of my personal journey: that of dealing with emotions. I’ve always been someone who has had had very intense emotions to deal with, especially those related to my past sexual abuse. Because of this, many emotions have come at any and all times, without apparent “reason”: at work, in relationships, light social times, and with family. Without any visible reason or sense, at least in the immediate context, it’s easy to hold judgment about strong emotions in our culture. It can appear to make others uncomfortable. This isn’t particular to sexual abuse; it is quite common to anyone sensitive and emotionally open, dealing with pain in any way. Emotions are emotions. They don’t make sense. If they did, they would be thoughts, not emotions. The heart has reasons the mind knows not of, and never will. Our need to make sense greatly depends on how allowing we are of the emotion. A grand sense of joy flittering like butterflies across ...

Breaking through the chains of identity
2007-11-24 01:25:00
Identity is central to the perception of isolation and separateness that human beings are subject to. If you hardwire your perception of Self to be a fixed collection of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, then you will automatically disconnect from all beings that are not this collection. You may see this in such actions as politics; the identity is so strong, so dependant on connections with others of like mind that the disconnect then it is quite likely that those on the ?other side? are disconnected from to such a degree that their humanness is no longer seen. When taken to its natural extreme, this can cause violence and wars.a

Knowing Self and knowing others.
2007-11-16 05:20:00
In this dance of intimacy, which can also be termed ?knowing the Self?, I've identified two fundamental forces and motivations based in Love: * Knowing Love through interconnection. This is the desire to know one?s wholeness and completion through seeing how fundamentally interconnected we are with others. We connect with others via sharing ideas, emotions, and space, and feel the joy that comes from this experience of oneness in whatever form it takes. It is a desire to fully experience the knowledge that you are not separate from anything in the universe. * Knowing Love through autonomy. This is the desire to experience wholeness simply by being exactly who you are in this moment. In other words, it is the sure knowledge there is nothing lacking in you, and that nothing can be found in another that cannot be found in the Self. There is thus no empty need for connections with others. There is nothing you can ?get? you cannot find already there, and so there is no need for...

Loving Awareness : A Journey to Wholeness There is so much we can learn from children. Most of us are disconnected from that childlike quality inside ourselves, that innocent state of joyful wonder that makes love for children so natural. In fact, we can think that that the only way to experience that state is vicariously through our children.

The Void
2007-11-12 07:39:00
The void is the absence of all expectation and a complete immersion into all that is the present. This ?all? must include, of course, all your dreams, desires, pain, love, and humanness. So a complete acceptance of all these things takes place for one to take place in the Now. SHARETHIS.addEntry({ title: "The Void", url: "http://www.loving-awareness.org/2007/11/ 11/the-void/" });

Children, in their simple wisdom of being who they are, have tremendous amounts to teach and remind us. How easy it is to break down in tears when a child touches your cheek after noticing some held back sadness. Being silly and unrestrainedly playful around a child is the most natural thing in the world. They remind us what is truly important in life. And what they teach us, via the characteristics they model, can be applied to all of life, not just our interaction with them. To help see this, I?ve listed a number of characteristics young children have that we could all learn from. It is these characteristics that epitomize Love . Moving from control to freedom

Connecting With Nature
2007-10-28 19:54:00
Nature is simply ?there?, and our day-to-day awareness doesn?t often extend to a real connection to nature beyond, say, noticing the gorgeous deep velvety reds of the Japanese maple trees, or the clearness of the autumn blue sky that provides a backdrop to the clouds in a usually overcast sky. We notice these things, notice their beauty, even perhaps notice their perfection, but fail to go that extra step and really connect with it: feeling the trees and their dance of interconnectedness, bursting into bloom yourself along with the geraniums in the pot on your windowsill, becoming the bird intent on seed-gathering to acquire energy to store for the cold winter ahead. We don?t usually feel what it is like to BE an aspect of nature, even though we are an aspect of it ourselves.
