Why Have Standards?
2007-06-16 22:44:00 ?Set ye up a standard in the land?? (Jeremiah 51:27). The wording in this Scripture is nearly considered archaic. What does a standard mean? A standard was an ensign that would be lifted up above the camp of the tribes of Israel that clarified identification. Each tribe had her standard as illustrated by this passage: ?Every man of the children of Israel shall pitch by his own standard, with the ensign of their father' house: far off about the tabernacle of the congregation shall they pitch? (Numbers 2:2).In ancient Rome, the troops would always go into battle with the standard-bearer. He would be a brave soldier who would make himself an imposing figure on the battlefield by draping animal skin such as lion or bear over his helmet and flowing down his back. Scientific Errors In The Qur'an

By "factual errors" we mean errors that can be physically examined. We are not talking about contradictions between scientific theories and the Qur'an. We are talking about hard evidence that can be checked out.But first, there is a question we must answer: "is it legitimate to judge the Qur'an?" By that I mean that it is God's perfect will for everyone to be saved, baptized, and united with a New Testament church. Baylor has Lost its Religion

This school was the place of education for such preachers as Lester Roloff and J Frank Norris. These men in their day won multitudes to Christ and are still having an effect in various ways today. Both of these men also made a strong break from the university. So why would these men break with this Baptist university? Baylor University was often criticized for teaching evolution and modernism, but the scriptures teach that "wisdom is justified of her children" (Matthew 11:19). So what is going on at the Southern Baptist school today?A professor at the university has recently been denied his tenure to teach. Many close to the situation have pointed out that the professor is very conservative on issues such as pro-life, gay marriage and intelligent design. A Creationist's Challenge To Evolutionists

Parenting Yourself
2007-05-23 22:19:00 Today, I read in II Chronicles, chapter 24. This chapter talks about King Joash and Jehoida the priest. If you will notice verses 2 it says, "And Joash did that which was right in the sight of the LORD all the days of Jehoiada the priest." Notice the last part of the verse. It says that Joash did right "all the days of Jehoida the priest". If you skip down to verses 15-18, you will see that as soon as Jehoida is dead, Joash immediately turns his back on God. He even kills the son of Jehoida the priest (who had helped him become king!). The problem was that Joash had never learned to "parent" himself. He had to have someone watching over him in order for him to make right choices, but when that person was taken away he immediately turned to sin. Many, many young people today have to have their parents continually tell them to do right. Their Backs Toward The Temple

Spence, makes this greatly enlightening statement : "Though Fund amentalism has endeavored to be strong historically in ecclesiastical separation, one of its great weaknesses from its beginning has been its lack of personal separation." This can be found in the June-July 2005 issue of the magazine in an article entitled "Ask for the Old Paths." This statement helped me make sense of the changes in many of the "camps" of fundamentalism. The leaflets contained the words of the 1611 King James Bible. The conclusion of the matter is that the Bible itself is hate speech and must be banned. How long before the word of God in the King James Bible is banned by the land that gave it to the world? What Is Biblical Predestination? - God's Eternal Purpose
2007-05-08 00:26:00 Biblical Predestination GOD has an "eternal purpose" in all that He has done. GOD, in absolute sovereignty, carries out this "eternal purpose." The one theme that runs through the entire Bible is the glory of GOD. Creation, man, CHRIST, salvation, Christians, the Church, etc. all, in fulfillment of GOD's "eternal purpose," will glorify His name. GOD created man in His own image but man fell and thus separated himself from GOD. Man, as a totally depraved sinner, cannot, in himself, bring glory to GOD's name. GOD DOES NOT SUFFER DEFEAT! Despite sin, His "eternal purpose" will be accomplished. GOD has made certain that His "eternal purpose" is accomplished. HE HAS PREDESTINATED IT! To clearly understand what the Scriptures teach about predestination it is necessary to have a definition of the word. The dictionary states that "predestination" means, "To decree beforehand."
