Christ’s Loving Sacrifice
2007-02-14 17:24:00
Romans 3:23-25 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Chris t Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God.” Today is Valentine’s Day. Many husbands will attempt to show their love to their wives through buying flowers, candy, a card, or by taking them to dinner. Last year, an estimated $13.7 billion was spent on Valentine’s Day gifts. Even though this is a lot of money, Christ paid a price far greater to show us His love for us over two thousand years ago.Although the gift of salvation is free to all who believe on Christ, there is a price that Christ had to pay. He left Heaven and His royal throne to come to earth and die for our sins. He did not deserve to die, but He did so out of love for us. He was beaten, mocked, and crucified so that we may one da...

Living Guilt-Free
2007-02-13 17:11:00
1 John 3:19-21 “And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him. For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.”There was once a young boy who became excessively fearful during the great New York blackout of 1977. When his parents questioned their son, he confessed that at the exact moment the lights went out, he had kicked a power line pole. As darkness engulfed the city, he thought he was to blame and would be punished. This boy had been living with the guilt of starting this blackout. As children of God, God wants us to live guilt-free. He wants our hearts to have peace, knowing that we are right with Him. The only way we can have such peace is if we have a conscious free of guilt.First John 1:4 says, “And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.” Christ wants our joy to be full. Our joy cannot be full if we ar...

The Lord’s Protection
2007-02-12 15:33:00
Isaiah 43:1-3 “But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee.” In our world today, there is much emphasis on protection. We have national protection through our brave soldiers, for whom I am greatly thankful. Then we have personal protection—whether it be through some form of martial arts or even a can of mace! There is also home protection with alarm systems and neighborhood watch programs. But as we see in today’s verses, God offers a protection that is greater than these. There are times in each of our lives when we ...

The Blessed Book
2007-02-10 18:14:00
What is the Blessed Book ? It is the Book that has all the answers. It is the Book that is hated and despised by America more than it ever has been before. It is so hated that it has been kicked out of the schoolroom. It is so hated that it has been neglected in the church house. It is so despised it has been forgotten in the home. People read newspapers far more than they read the Word of God and then we wonder way America is in the mess she's in today. This is the Book that made America great, but since it's been kicked out, we've seen America go under and down. The Bible is a DIVINE REVELATION. You can't get it any other way except that God give it to you. The natural man receiveth not the things of the spirit of God "Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be." (Romans 8:7).It is a SALVATION book. "These are written that you might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might hav...

Facts About the NKJV
2007-02-09 15:13:00
Many people use the New King James Version today. It is admittedly not as bad as those versions that completely depart from the Masoretic and Received Texts of the Hebrew and Greek Testaments. However, it still has the modern liberal approach to translation. This approach is as much the problem with new bibles as is the text they use for translation. Even versions that claim not to use the modernistic approach are very effected by this philosophy. Let me explain this in different words. Not only is there a problem with using the wrong original language texts, but there are also different ways to translate from one language to another. The approach of the King James Bible is to keep the language as close as possible to what it is in the original languages. Many of the ways of saying things in the King James Bible come directly from the Hebrew or Greek phrases.Another approach is to give the same meaning in modern words. Scholars call this approach dynamic equivalence. This sounds g...

Finding God's Will in the Hedges
2007-02-08 14:54:00
Read: Job 3:13-26Job continues his initial complaint to his friends. He is one of those men who “long for death, but it cometh not” (v.21). He seeks for the peace and rest that he expects death to bring. He questions why light and life continue to be given to him.“Wherefore is light given to him that is in misery, and life unto the bitter in soul” (v.20)? “Why is light given to a man whose way is hid, and whom God hath hedged in?” v.23).He still has light. That is, he still has his wisdom. He still sees and understands many things. But his own “way” (v.23) is hidden from him. He does not understand why he is going through such a trial. (Perhaps, this is your experience when you can see what God is doing in the lives of others but cannot fathom what He is doing in your own life.)One of Job’s complaints is especially interesting. He claims to be one “whom God hath hedged in” (v.23). What does it mean that God has hedged Job in? A small lesson in Bible ...

Give Me that Old Time Religion – I'm Tired of the New Stuff!!!
2007-02-07 18:23:00
This tract is written in protest of the modern day, passive, sissy-fied, and noodle for backbone, watered down religion.People claim the name of Christianity without being Christian at all. The word Christian means to follow in the ways of Jesus Christ. As I look around and see the spiritual shape our churches are in I can't help but feel that this isn't what Christ had in mind.Today the gates of hell do not have to prevail against the Church because hell is being invited into the Church. Churches across the country are having Super Bowl Sunday so those that are not comfortable in church can come watch the ballgame. When are they going to allow those who are not comfortable watching the game without beer to bring their own beer? Or even more repulsive, to have the beer on hand? How long is the judgement of God going to be postponed before God has had enough?I talked to a lady not long ago that asked, "Why do the ladies in your church wear dresses? We have Casual Day at our church!"...

(Taken from Dial-the-Truth Ministries)The Presence of Sin . . .When Adam and Eve disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden, sin invaded the human race."Wherefore, as by one man (Adam) sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, FOR THAT ALL HAVE SINNED:" Romans 5:12". . . for there is no difference. FOR ALL HAVE SINNED, and come short of the glory of God;" Romans 3:22b-23"If we say that we have not sinned, WE MAKE HIM A LIAR, and his word is not in us." 1 John 1:10"If we say that we have no sin, WE DECEIVE OURSELVES, and the truth is not in us." 1 John 1:8The Penalty of Sin . . ."For the wages of sin is DEATH; . . ." Romans 6:23aNot just physical death, but something far more serious — SPIRITUAL DEATH — in hell!"But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: WHICH IS THE SECOND DEATH." Scientific Facts in the Bible???!!!
2007-02-04 01:45:00
Earlier this week our site was bombarded with many hits and many comments after the post on our site of January 20th (Evolution Isn't Even Logical) was linked on several secular news-sites. Many comments were vicious, hateful, rude and cruel...to say the very least. We did not force anyone to come to our site; each visitor to our blog comes on their own free will, yet many said we were forcing our beliefs on others. We enjoyed the fact that many lost people were coming to our site and we prayed that many would read other posts, with God speaking to their hearts from His word. Several people commented that the Bible was written by men and had no scientific basis. We totally disagree with this statement. Although the Bible isn't a scientific book, there are no false statements about science within its books. Please look at the following information and see where God pointed out scientific facts many, many years before man discovered them.Luke 17:30, "Even thus shall it be IN THE DAY...

Effectual, Fervent Prayer
2007-02-01 23:25:00
James 5:16b ...The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.> Pray er in the strictest sense of the word is simply asking.> When we pray, we are asking God for something. Effect ual prayer is prayer that gets results.> As we learned in earlier weeks, there are several ways we ought to communicate with God that prepare us for prayer. These are things that get God's attention and pave the way for answered prayer.1. Praise - Thanking God for what He has done2. Worship - Thanking God for who He is3. Confession - To say the same~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Presenting Your Case To God > Now then, we are ready to pray.> However, effective prayer is not just determined by the amount of time spent in prayer. Matthew 6:7 "But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking."> Effective prayer begins with planning our argument.> Once we have planned our argument then we ...

God's Love For You
2007-01-31 16:23:00
Dear Friend,Welcome to our blog. It is no accident that you are here. We believe God sent you our way because it is for you we have prayed. While you are here, we would like to give you something to think about. First of all, we want to tell you that God loves you. No matter who you are or how unloveable you think you may be, He still loves you! The Bible says in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."Secondly, we would like to ask you a question. If you were to die today, are you 100% sure you would go to heaven? Death is reality, my friend, and is not respector of persons or age. We can see that just by looking in the obituaries. For this reason, we ask each of you to look ahead for a moment to your final days here on earth. (They may come sooner than you anticipate.) As illustrated in our previous post, to what are you holding? In what or whom have you plac...

To The Unbeliever...Something To Consider Dying Testimony of Unsaved - Part
2007-01-30 19:03:00
"YOU GAVE ME NOTHING TO HOLD ON TO" In a country village of Pennsylvania there lived an infidel physician, who by infidel books persuaded a young man to deny his Savior. In about 1875 this man died, aged fifty years. The infidel teacher was his physician. When his end was approaching, the doctor told him to die as he had lived - a rejector of God and Christ: "Hold on to the end," urged the doctor. "Yes, doctor," said the dying man, "there is just my trouble; you gave me nothing to hold on to." The doctor did not reply. (taken from "Dying Testimonies of Saved and Unsaved") When you come to your final days here on earth, in what will your hope be placed? Titus 2:13,14 "Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works."

"...it shall not return unto me void..."
2007-01-30 16:09:00
Just over a week ago, we became aware that our post "Evolution Isn't Even Logical" had been linked on another small site. Realizing the beliefs of this person and his readers, we made the decision to begin our series of testimonies. It was our prayer that the Lord would use these to move in people's hearts. Little did we know just HOW God would use them!!Our site normally receives 20 plus readers in one DAY. Yesterday, God allowed approximately 1,000 visitors to view "The Good Report". We realize that their sole purpose for coming was to read and then "bash" our article on evolution. However, we also know that many of them have taken some time to look at other posts and for that we are so thankful! Please pray with us for the convicting power of the Holy Spirit to move on these people's hearts.~Joshua & Caleb~Isaiah 55:11 "So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper i...

Dying Testimony of Unsaved - Part 4
2007-01-30 00:58:00
THE AWFUL DEATH OF SIR FRANCIS NEWPORTSir Francis Newport was trained in early life to understand the great truths of the gospel; and while in early manhood it was hoped that he would become an ornament and a blessing to his family and the nation, the result was far otherwise. He fell into company that corrupted his principles and his morals. He became an avowed infidel, and a life of dissipation soon brought on a disease that was incurable. When he felt that he must die, he threw himself on the bed, and after a brief pause, he exclaimed as follows: "Whence this war in my heart? What argument is there now to assist me against matters of fact? Do I assert that there is no hell, while I feel one in my own bosom? Am I certain there is no after retribution, when I feel present judgment? Do I affirm my soul to be as mortal as my body, when this languishes, and that is vigorous as ever? O that anyone would restore unto me that ancient gourd of piety and innocence! Wretch that I a...

"MADGE IS DEAD AND DAVID IS CRAZY" In the spring of 1891, while Rev. C. B. Ebey was holding a meeting at Colgrove, California, two young ladies and their brother, who had been regular attendants at the meeting, were brought under deep conviction, but would not yield to the Spirit. The youngest was a bright, healthy young girl of fourteen years, named Madge. One day Bro. Ebey said to her, "Madge, I believe this meeting is being held for you." She felt that she ought to give her heart to God, and decided to do so, but was persuaded by her brother David not for awhile longer. Her brother dearly loved her, and knew if she got saved that it would end their wordly pleasures together, so he persuaded her to to wait a few years, and then they would both get saved. The meeting closed, and they had both said to the Spirit, "Wait until a more convenient season." A few weeks afterwards Bro. Ebey received word that Madge was dead, and was asked to come to her home immediately. He went as quickly...

Right or Wrong?
2007-01-26 07:33:03
A thing is right or a thing is wrong,And there is no in-between.We sometimes wish that it wasn't so,But it's plain what both words mean. If it's "not quite right," then it must be wrong; If "it wouldn't be wrong," then it's right.Though sometimes it's very hard to chooseWhen the difference seems very slight. But no matter how old you live to be,And no matter where you go,There are no half measures with right or wrong; And it always will be so~Alfred I. Tooke~

The Holy Spirit has been working all day preparing lost people for us to talk to tonight.2. He has been preparing them to listen to and to receive the gospel.3. The Holy Spirit has been working hard all day preparing us to go out tonight.4. He has been preparing us to present the gospel.5 The Holy Spirit knows exactly who is lost and who isn't.6. The Holy Spirit knows exactly where the lost people are. He has been working on the one where you are going to be.7. Exodus 3:1-4 ?Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb. And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed. And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt. And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I.?In this story, we see Moses tending to His father-in-law?s sheep in the wilderness. Moses had been a prince in Egypt but had to flee because he had killed an Egyptian taskmaster. He ran to the wilderness and became a shepherd. While he was tending the sheep, Moses? mind may have often gone back to his mistake. He probably thought of his failures and of letting God down. He may have thoug...

Keep Your Eyes on Jesus

Matthew 14:22-31 "And straightway Jesu s constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away. And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone. But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary. And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. ETERNAL DEATH THE RESULT OF DELAY A young man by the name of Smith was seen standing looking on with interest during the exercises of a prayer-meeting at camp-meeting in Rootstown, Ohio. One of the ministers observing him addressed him on the subject of religion. His eyes filled with tears and he seemed inclined to seek religion. One of his wicked companions perceiving it, stepped up and looking him in the face, remarked, "Smith, I would not be a fool." Poor Smith could not resist such influences, and dashing the tears from his eyes turned on his heel and went away. He lingered about the camp ground until the meeting closed for the evening, and went off with his company. They bantered him on the subject of his feelings. To show to them that he had not the feelings they supposed, he commenced cursing and blaspheming in a most awful manner and making all imaginable sport of religious things, when a large limb from a tree fell on him, and he, with a curse on his tongue, was forced into...

Dying Testimonies of Saved and Unsaved - Introduction
2007-01-26 07:33:03
Many times, when going door-to-door for church visitation, we have come across people with various religious beliefs such as Mormonism, Catholicism, Evolution, Jehovah's Witnesses, Atheism, etc. If one were to surf the blogosphere, no doubt the results would be the same. As we come in contact with different individuals we can't help but feel sorry for them. They are all caught up in their man-made beliefs thinking they are right when they are in fact far from the truth. But, the saddest part is the eternal destiny of the unbeliever. When they come to the end of their life, to whom will they turn? For instance, an atheist who denied and mocked God all of his life will not be mocking Him on his deathbed. The Bible clearly teaches us that there will be no atheists in Hell. All those who reject God while they are living will bow to Him at the coming Judgment Day. Philippians 2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and thing...

Today's Wacky World Of Worship - Do Not Fall For It
2007-01-26 07:33:03
What is Worship ?Churchgoers often hear these newer terms: Contemporary Worship, Traditional Worship, Worship leaders, Worship bands, Worship teams, Worship Director, Worship choruses, Worship songs, Worship services, etc. Where is any of this in the Bible?Since the mid 1980s when the ?Worship and Praise? phenomenon and the ?seeker-friendly mega-church? mentality took over the body of Christ, the number of evangelical or fundamental missionaries who have left the shores of America to preach the gospel to the regions beyond has decreased from 57,000 to 41,000. During that same time (1985-2005) the world?s population has increased by 1 billion people. By one swift slight of Satan, the church has substituted ?Worship and Praise? for ?Evangelism and Discipleship?. We have kept the troops entertained at the church house while the world is lost and heading toward hell without warning. We have succumbed to one of the devil?s oldest tricks: replace the best with something good. The woman at t...

Seven Disciplines to Victorious Living
2007-01-26 07:33:03
1. Keep Your Heart Proverbs 4:23 The word "keep" means "to walk guard" around. Do not let any type of sin conquer your heart. Keep them out. Some examples are found in Mark 7:21-23.2. Watch For Your Soul Hebrews 13:17 The soul of a righteous man can be vexed (worn down) by worldliness. II Peter 2:8. We need to watch out for the world, or it will get to us and wear it down. Other scriptures to study: I Peter 2:11, I Thessalonians 5:23.3. Rule Your Spirit Proverbs 25:28, 16:32 The spirit of man is their emotions and will. Emotions like rage, temper, anger, depression, etc. can ruin you if they control you. With God's help, control your emotions, don't let them control you.4. Captivate Your Mind II Corinthians 10:4-6 "Bring into captivity every thought." The human mind can only think about one thing at a time. Thus it is not impossible for God to control your mind. Yield your mind to the Holy Spirit each moment. Ask Him to take control.5. Bring Your Body Into Subjection I Corinthians...

Evolution Isn't Even Logical
2007-01-26 07:33:03
"...keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding... Oppositions of science falsely so-called." 1 Timothy 6:20 Introduction Logi c is defined as being reasonable or having sound sense. Evolution is senseless. Evolution leaves a logical person shaking their head, saying, "They can't possibly believe this," yet it is taught so dogmatically as truth today. Science interests me. Evolution is not scientific. It is dogma based on theories (often contradictory) that can not be proven. Science is the study of knowledge based on facts and laws.Let's rely upon resources of logic and make some observations:1. The Big BangDo you believe your car is the result of an explosion in an automobile factory? If you took the thousands of parts of your car, lined them up in a building, blew the building up with TNT, do you believe when the dust cleared, they will have formed a nice, shiny, brand new, perfectly running automobile? Of course not! That is not reasonable. Do you believe your wristwatc...

Daddy's Boy, Momma's Boy???
2007-01-26 07:33:03
A few days ago as I was reading my Bible I came across Genesis 25:28, "And Isaac loved Esau, because he did eat of his venison: but Rebekah loved Jacob." In this verse it says that Isaac loved Esau, but Rebekah loved Jacob. Sad to say, this happens a lot today. As a parent, it is important to love each of your children with an equal love. You shouldn't favor one child over the rest of them. Jacob experienced this as a child and it caused problems in their family. It also caused problems down the road for Jacob. Look at Genesis 37:3; " Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colours." Jacob is now married himself and has twelve sons and one daughter. Jacob turned out just like his parents and in this verse it says that he loved one son, Joseph, more than the rest of his other kids. It also caused problems and Joseph's brothers hated him because of it. We talked about this fact for a while during our d...

Are You Really Reading The Bible?
2007-01-26 07:33:03
Article By: Tony Wakeland Have you ever really stopped to think about what your reading? Are you really reading the Bible or are you reading a counterfeit? Spending counterfeit money is a serious crime, so imagine what kind of trouble a counterfeit Bible can get you in to. There is only ONE true Bible. That is the Kings James 1611 Version, which was divinely inspired. We are going to look at only one of these counterfeit Bibles, The NEW INTERNATIONAL VERSION.Although all of these counterfeit bibles are just as wrong, one of the most obvious wrongs the NIV makes, is that it adds, takes, and changes So many verses in the Bible. The Bible gives very harsh and direct warning against this in KJV Deuteronomy 4:2 which reads: "YE SHALL NOT ADD unto the word which I command you, NEITHER SHALL YE DIMINISH ought from it.? Proverbs 30:6, reads, "ADD THOU NOT unto his words..."GOD'S LAST WARNING is Revelation 22:18,19, ". . . If any man SHALL ADD unto these things?? ?And if any man shall TAK...

Dying Testimony of an Atheist - Part 2
2007-01-26 07:33:03
I SHALL SOON BE A DEAD MAN, AND MY SOUL WILL BE IN HELLA minister, while travelling one day, was overtaken by a thunderstorm and took refuge in what was called a tavern. His attention was soon directed towards a man who seemed to be trying to entertain himself and others by using profanity in its lowest degree. He claimed to be an atheist, and blasphemed the name of God with unusual recklessness. Finally, while the storm was raging wildly, he said to those around him, "There is no God, and to prove to you that I am right about it, I will go out there on that little hill and dare Him to strike me with His lightning."
