Heart-breaker
2007-10-30 03:37:00
There?s a website that?s recently been in the news. It?s called http://www.dogsindanger.com/ It shows pictures of cute and long-faced dogs who are soon to be put to death. It?s controversial because they have a clock ticking down to when each dog will be put to sleep. That pulls on the heart-strings. I would like to create a website called www.humansindanger.com with a clock ticking down to when human beings will be put to death. Every day 150,000 people die. The clock is ticking. Our hearts should more than break at the thought. We should be horrified that a single soul would end up in Hell, and let that horror energize us (with God?s help) to rescue them.

Joke of the Day - "Bubba"
2007-10-30 03:18:00
Bubba goes to the tent revival and listens to the preacher. After awhile, the preacher asks anyone with needs to come forward and be prayed over. Bubba slowly rises from his chair and gets in line. When it's his turn the preacher says, "Bubba, what you want me to pray about?" Bubba says, "Preacher, I need you to pray for my hearing." So the preacher puts his right finger in Bubba's right ear and his left hand on top of his head and prays a while. Then the preacher puts his left finger in Bubba's left ear and his right hand on top of his head and prays some more. After a few minutes, the preacher removes his hands and says, "Bubba, how's your hearing now?" Bubba says, "I don't know preacher, it ain't til next Wednesday."

"The Bus Report" - 10/29/07
2007-10-29 20:45:00
We had another great day for Bus #3 this past Sunday. Because our route has grown so much, we're going to be driving two buses each Sunday from now on. We recently had someone donate a 21-passenger bus to our church so, that's one of the vehicles we'll be driving on our route. Yesterday's promotion for each of the buses was "Gold Fish Sunday". Each rider that rode the bus got to take home a gold fish. I think everybody enjoyed that. Also, each Sunday night of our program we're giving away a "Best Bus" banner to the bus who has the greatest percentage increase over their base number. The base number for our bus is 44 so, we're trying really hard to win the banner. Hope everyone had a great service at their church. Let me know how it went. Glad to be on Bus #3! ~Joshua~

The Ingredients of a Christian Home
2007-10-25 16:50:00
PEACE?And let the peace of God rule in your hearts.?A truly Christian home is a place of peace with the peace of God ruling in people?s hearts. It is not a battleground, but a rufuge. It is not a place of fighting, but a place of fellowship. It is a place fortified against the Devil. In God?s Word, we read about peace with God and the peace of God.Jesus Christ was sent forth to earth, and He gave Himself on the cross. He bled and died for our sins, tasting death for every man. God punished sin in the body of His own Son when He became sin for us. He died, was buried, and rose from the dead. When we ask Him to forgive our sin and by faith receive Him as our Savior, we are born into God?s family. We become children of God, and we have peace with God.However, having peace with God does not mean that we have the peace of God. Look closely at a passage of Scripture in Philippians 4:5-7,"Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing; but in every th...

DaVinci Code
2007-10-24 16:43:00
"And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables." (2Timothy 4:4)"Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen..." (Jeremiah 10:2)I've been hearing people talk about "The DaVinci Code ". When the book first came out a few years ago, I thought most Christians steered clear of it. Since the movie has come in the spotlight, I think the book has gained popularity, now even among Christians. I hear them say things like, "It's good entertainment", or "It really is like that in the picture of the Last Supper". So, what? Who says that a painting (by a non-believer) has any validity? I heard several pastors on the radio say that they would watch it for "entertainment", after all it's just fiction (duhhh!).Anything Hollywood produces about the Bible, Christianity, or religion, you can always expect to be twisted and distorted. But DaVinci Code isn't just a differing viewpoint or slight misrepresentation. It is complete heresy, I would even say b...

The LORD Is A Man Of War
2007-10-23 16:35:00
"The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name." (Exodus 15:3)Down through the centuries many men have been known as great men of war, brilliant strategists, military geniuses, etc. There has never been a military mind like that of our God, Jehovah.Jehovah's war strategies may not look good to a West Point graduate, but they always work, He's never lost a battle! Think about how the Lord has won battles down through the ages:~ He wins them with as few men as possible, as with Gideon (See Judges 7:1-7).~ He wins them with pitchers and lanterns and trumpets (Judges 7).~ He wins wars by marching and shouting (Joshua 6)~ He wins them using teenage boys with slingshots (1Samuel 17)~ He's also used other means such as: hornets, locusts, angels, one strong man and a jawbone, and also just old fashioned hand to hand combat. The strange thing about the Lord's wars is that most of the time He first sends word to the enemy, of what He's going to do, and then He does it. And He still wins,...

"The Bus Report"
2007-10-22 23:50:00
This past Saturday we were able to go visiting again with several other workers from Bus #3. The Lord allowed us to be able to sign-up some new riders for that Sunday, which was a blessing. While we were out visiting, another worker from our bus and I went knocking on doors. We were able to stop and witness to a young man about the Lord. When my visiting partner first asked the young man about his salvation, he just laughed and acted like he didn't really care. My partner asked the man if he was to die right now, where would you go? The man admitted that he would go to Hell. My partner asked if he could show him how to be saved, and the man said "yes". They went inside the man's house while I talked to some bus kids. When they came back out, the man looked different. Before, he looked and acted like he didn't even care. And now, he looked like he had a peace about him. He told me that he had gotten saved. Praise the Lord! The man's name is Larry. Pray that he'll start coming to...

A Very Present Help In Trouble
2007-10-19 19:27:00
"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah. There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early." (Psalm 46: 1-5) I'm glad that God is our refuge and strength. He's not only our help, but a "present" help. In other words, He's with you right now, where you are. Not only that, He is a "very present help." I know some times we're guilty of treating God like a "spare tire", not really calling on Him until we're in desperate need, but He's so good to us anyway. The apostle Paul said: "If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself." (2Timothy 2:13) God takes responsib...

Is this Pope John Paul II waving from beyond the grave?
2007-10-17 05:50:00
I ran across this article and thought it was quite interesting. You can read the article here, but make sure you look at the picture. Hmmm... I wonder if this could be the Pope waving from his final destination? Let me know what you think!!! Luke 16:23a "And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments..." Luke 16:24 "And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame." Luke 16:27-28 "Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house: For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment."Here is the first part of the article:This fiery figure is being hailed as Pope John Paul II making an appearance beyond the grave. The image, said by believers to show the Holy Father with his right hand raised in blessing, was spotted during a ceremony in Poland to mark the sec...

The Power of God
2007-10-14 04:35:00
"Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;" (Colossians 1:11) When we speak of the power of God, we may not immediately think of it going along with patience and longsuffering. If man had written this verse, he probably would have said something like "according to his glorious power, unto the winning of many souls", or "unto being prosperous", or "unto the performing of miracles", or "unto great and mighty things." But the Holy Ghost decided that His power would be made known best, with our suffering, patience, hardships, trials, etc.. The Lord told Paul, "...my strength is made perfect in your weakness." (2 Corinthians 12:9) Then Paul said, "Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me." (2Cor. 12:9-10) I read a statement the other day that said, "Whenever you're down to nothing, then God is up to something." I like that. Indeed, God has to get us very...

Didn't the King James Bible when first printed contain the Apocrypha?
2007-10-11 07:19:00
I recently received the following comment on one of my posts: Just curious....it is my understanding that the KJ1611 also contained the apocrypha. I am assuming you don't use the apocrypha (you'd be the first baptist folks I know that do). If it was a part of that translation and that translation is perfectly God's Word to every jot and tittle, then why don't you use it? Just wondering.... QUESTION: Didn't the King James Bible when first printed contain the Apocrypha? ANSWER: Yes. EXPLANATION: Many critics of the perfect Bible like to point out that the original King James had the Apocrypha in it as though that fact compromises its integrity. But several things must be examined to get the factual picture.First, in the days in which our Bible was translated, the Apocrypha was accepted reading based on its historical value, though not accepted as Scripture by anyone outside of the Catholic church. The King James translators therefore placed it between the Old and New Testaments ...
Other Perversions
2007-10-10 16:54:00
"Can two walk together, except they be agreed?" (Amos 3:3)It's funny how that so many modern bible versions want people to believe how much like the KJV they are, and yet they differ in so many ways from it.Consider the following quotes that came directly from the websites that promote and sell these particular perversions.NIV supporters boast the following:"The NIV was created and is maintained with the mandate to accurately and faithfully translate the original Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic biblical texts into clearly understandable English. The NIV is the most widely accepted contemporary Bible translation today. More people today buy the NIV Bible than any other English-language translation."ESV supporters say this:"The true heirs of the King James translators are those who continue their task today, not those who declare it to have been definitely ended in 1611."If the above statements are correct, then why are the following verses completely missing from both NIV and ESV?Matthew...
Leave it to a West Virginia Farmer
2007-10-10 16:38:00
A West Virginia Department of Highways employee stopped at a farm and talked with an old farmer. He told the farmer, "I need to inspect your farm for a possible new road. "The old farmer said, "OK, but don't go in that field. "The Highways employee said, "I have the authority of the State of West Virginia to go where I want. See this card? I am allowed to go wherever I wish on farm land." So the old farmer went about his farm chores. Later, he heard loud screams and saw the Department of Highways employee running for the fence and close behind was the farmer's prize bull. The bull was madder than a nest full of hornets and the bull was gaining on the employee at every step. The old farmer called out, "Show him your card", "SHOW, HIM, YOUR,CARD!!!!"

Preaching The Gospel
2007-10-09 21:33:00
"For you see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; and base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence. But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord." (1Corinthians 1:26-31) Isn't it amazing that an Almighty God has chosen to save sinful men, and use them for His service. Many times Christians start to get the "big head", and think of themselves more highly than they ought. As if, they're doing God a big favor, by offering Him their great talents and abiliti...

"The Bus Report"

First of all, I want to say Praise the Lord! God is good all the time! As most of y'all know. yesterday was our pastor's 12th. anniversary at our church and our goal was to have 1,200 different people in our services. In order to accommodate the expected crowd, we had two morning worship services (at 8:30 & 11:00) with Sunday school in between. After much visiting and prayer, the Lord allowed us to not only reach our goal, but to exceed it. Okay, are y'all ready to see how good our God is? The Lord blessed us with approximately 1,600 people in the different services at our church. Praise the Lord! The Lord really moved in the services and we were able to see many souls saved. Thank you so much to everyone who prayed for this special day at our church. Also, I want to thank each of you for your prayers for Bus #3. As y'all know, our goal was to have 178 riders that morning. Well, the Lord allowed us to have 193 riders (including workers). We had around 53 first-time riders. Is...

Did Our Inspired Bible Expire?
2007-10-07 02:00:00
"... the WORD OF GOD which LIVETH ... FOREVER (I Peter 1:23)the WORD OF GOD is QUICK ... and is a DISCERNER of the thoughts and intents of the heart. . ." (Hebrews 4:12)We must admit that there was a time when we were terrified at the prospect of defending the "inspiration" of the A.V 1611 (King James) Bible . Of course, like many Christians, we were influenced by Bible correcting educators and scholars and their accepted, traditional, man-made, theological definition of "inspiration".DEFINE YOUR TERMS As with all theological definitions, the Bible correcting educator's definition of inspiration is not infallible and is subject to error. Moreover, any error in definition can mean a more serious error in concept.Bible correcting educators, like the Jehovah's Witnesses, have discovered that if they are allowed to define (or redefine) Bible Words, then they can easily establish their pet doctrines and theories. Bible correctors and Jehovah's Witnesses both must be challenged as to wh...

Rights of the Child in Public Schools
2007-10-03 05:04:00
There is much confusion over this subject of the phrase "separation of church and state", in particular, the public schools. For example, one forth grader was denied by his teacher to leave religious tracks in the bathroom at his school...Instead of bowing down to this confusion, research was conducted on the internet and the US government's official website was found, and brought to the school's attention concerning this matter. As a result, it cleared the confusion up and the boy was allowed to leave tracks in his public school...Most of the confusion comes from the relentless attacks from the ACLU, in a form of a threat or taking the matter which has to do with religious expression in public places to court. Those who question this practice, or not sure how a child can conduct him or herself in a public school setting according to the government, concerning practicing their religion. The law is pretty clear on the issue...It states and I quote;"Religious literature: Students hav...

Yesterday was a busy, but exciting day! After spending 4-5 hours on Saturday, the Lord gave us several new riders. That was a blessing! The Lord has really been blessing Bus #3 with a packed bus each Sunday.Yesterday, was also spent preparing for our BIG day on Oct. 7. As I said in a previous post, our goal for Bus #3 is to have 178 riders off our route. Lord willing, we'll be "double-running" our route that morning by dropping off a load of kids at church and going back for more. Please be in prayer for Bus #3 that we'll reach our goal and most of all, that many souls would be saved.Glad to be on Bus #3!~Joshua~

Your Cell Phone or Your Bible?
2007-09-28 17:12:00
I wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our mobile phone? *What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?*What if we flipped through it several times a day? *What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it? *What if we used it to receive messages from the text? *What if we treated it like we couldn?t live without it? *What if we gave it to kids as gifts? *What if we used it when we traveled? *What if we used it in case of emergency? This is something to make you go ?hmm?where is my Bible?? Oh, and one more thing. Unlike our mobile phone, we don?t have to worry about our Bible being disconnected. Makes you stop and think ?where are my priorities? And? no dropped calls!

Preach the Word!
2007-09-27 06:52:00
Second Timothy 4:2 tells us to ?Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season?? What word is it that we are to preach? It would be the Word referred to in the previous verses. The Word given by inspiration of God and profitable. How do you read this verse? Is it like this:?and is profitable for DOCTRINE, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. or like this:?and is profitable for doctrine, for REPROOF, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. how about like this:?and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for CORRECTION, for instruction in righteousness. maybe this way:?and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for INSTRUCTION in righteousness. I think I?ve heard preaching of each of these kinds. But my contention is that all preaching should have all of these in it. Not just teaching, or just reproving, or just correcting, or just telling how to. Real preaching or real pastoring has a balance of all of these. Don?t call you...
The Truth About Harry Potter

Harry Potter promoting witchcraft, killing, decapitation, drinking blood, and suicide or the Holy Potterthe giver of life, who sacrificed His own blood for all mankind? Rowling wrote about a fantasy world; she's not promoting witchcraft or demonism. J.K. Rowling has a degree in Mythology from Exeter and was a treacher. She researched witchcraft to make the books accurate. She knows exactly what she's writing about. She portrays the witches in a positive light ("good witches"), which deceives us as to their true evil nature and intent. "Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness" - Isaiah 5:20 It's not all that gruesome. The Potter books promote a disturbing view of death. Yesterday was an outstanding day for Bus #3. We had a good crowd on the bus that morning, with a few first-time riders. That night, we had a special service telling about the different ministries in our church. Each ministry had a display table telling about that certain outreach. Our pastor encouraged each bus to have at least 25 riders. He was going to have all the bus kids stand up in front of the church to show the importantance of the bus ministry. Our bus had 55 riders that night! It was a very sweet and touching service.Below you'll see a picture of all the workers for Bus #3 and also some pictures from Sunday night.Glad to be on Bus #3!~Joshua~

Ain't God Good?

Isaiah 43:2-5a "When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. For I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour:...Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou has been honourable, and I have loved thee:...Fear not: for I am with thee:..." I'm so thankful for these verses. It reminds me that no matter what trial, or tribulation I am going through, God promised to be there with us. You won't drown, you won't get burned, in fact, like the 3 Hebrew children in the Fiery Furnace, the flame won't even kindle upon you! He has saved us, He is our Saviour, and now He promises to take care of us. We are precious in His sight!

Children, Where is the Fire?
2007-09-13 17:24:00
Job 18:5,6 "Yea, the light of the wicked shall be put out, and the spark of his fire shall not shine. The light shall be dark in his tabernacle, and his candle shall be put out with him." Introduction: Have you ever heard of the expression, "being on fire for God"? A.THE FIRE IN THE PULPITB. THE FIRE IN THE PEWSC.THE FIRE IN THE PEOPLED. THE FIRE IN PRAISE Fire usually speaks of judgment in the Bible, but it is also used in a good sense: John the Baptist - a burning and shining light Jeremiah - God's word was as a fire in his bones Rev. 3 - the church at Laodicea was neither cold nor hot; it had lost its fireIt can bring warmth, and it can bring light: Matthew 5:16 "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." I think we OUGHT to be on fire for the Lord. Of course, unsaved people don't have a true fire from God. Their fire is a false fire. Unfortunately, the fire of many real Christians doesn't burn like it o...

A Prayer for Our Nation
2007-09-11 16:46:00
Hebrews 4:14-16 ?Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.?As our nation was attacked six years ago today on September 11, 2001, we heard stories of survival, hope, and heroics come from that great tragedy. One of the most touching stories I remember was when a news reporter interviewed the wife and small son of a man who worked in the World Trade Center. When the reporter asked the lady if she had heard from her husband before the trade center went down, she said, ?Yes, he emailed us. He said, ?My building has been hit by a plane. I don?t think I?ll be home tonight, but I will see you in Heaven.?? The reporter then said t...
