Smithsonian: Religious Scientists Prohibited
2007-02-08 01:26:00 ?Are you a religious person??This question is not allowed on job applications and it is prohibited during job interviews. And regardless of the truth, the religious affiliation of an individual cannot be used to deny employment, except perhaps in church work. However, the Smithsonian Institution, an agency of the United States government, has been using this question to penalize one of its most gifted scientists, Dr. Richard Sternberg.A Research Associate at the National Museum of Natural History, Dr. Sternberg is an evolutionary scientist with two doctorates in biology, one in molecular evolution and the other in theoretical biology. In addition to his research work at the Smithsonian, he served as managing editor of the peer-reviewed Proceedings of the Biological Society of Washington.During his oversight of this journal, Dr. Sternberg accepted for publication an article titled ?The Origin of Biological Information and the Higher Taxonomic Categories? by Dr. Stephen C. Meyer, a Cam... More About: America , Evolution , Ligi , Scientists
Black History Month: Honoring Godly Heroes
2007-02-06 03:01:00 America's Godly heritage has been under assault in recent years. Secularist spokesmen claim that America was created as a secular nation by secular individuals who intended that it always remain secular. These individuals understand that by destroying the knowledge of America's religious heritage, it is easier to persuade subsequent generations to embrace secularism. Interestingly, this religious cleansing has no racial boundaries. An examination of the individuals often honored during February's "Black History Month" (celebrated nationally since 1976) shows that the secularization of America's historyIs directed against all Godly heroes, no matter their skin color. Therefore, to introduce Americans to little-known heroes, this WallBuilder Report will honor three famous Godly Black Americans all but ignored by today's secularists: Benjamin Banneker, Phillis Wheatley, and Richard Allen.Benjamin BannekerBenjamin Banneker was born a free Black on a tobacco plantation near Baltimor... Global Warming is a Religion
2007-02-03 02:39:00 I believe in the God of Creation. I'm not going to proselytize here, don't misunderstand. But I'm saying as a believer of a loving God and a God of Creation, that there is a complexity to all this that makes it work; that we cannot understand; that we cannot really control; that we cannot destroy, and that we really can't alter in its massive complexity. Yeah, we can dam a river and do all this sort of thing, but to actually affect the systems that keep the earth here, in whatever form, even if there are nuclear detonations left and right, life somewhere, somehow, will survive, and the whole process will begin again. We may not, cockroaches will. That means some liberals will. But I believe in the God of Creation. I believe, as such, we're insignificant in all this. I am, just as a human being, offended by the notion that the automobile I drive and the way I air-condition my home and the way I barbecue outside and the way all of you do the same things, as life for human beings ... Has Evolution become a State Religion?
2007-01-31 02:13:00 The Church of England had been established as the official state church of that country for a long time, but in the nineteenth century an effort was launched to "dis-establish" it, and remove its favored status. Yet some wanted to retain the designation, and launched the anti-disestablish movement. Their movement became known as antidisestablish-mentarianism, a beloved word of all school children who brag they can spell the longest word in the English language. There are longer words, but we can learn a lesson from this historical episode.America's founding fathers rejected all ideas of a national church, even though numerous voices clamored for one and several of the individual states had already selected one or the other. The very first amendment to the constitution codified this commitment, that "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof. . . ." Nowhere did they insist on "the separation of church and state" in t... More About: Religion , Evolution , Ligi , State , Come
There's So Much Corruption in the World, why Criticize Religion?
2007-01-27 01:48:00 This was the question presented to me by a Catholic gentleman which I recently witnessed to. He listened attentively as I shared the gospel of Jesus Christ with him. He told me he had been a Catholic his entire life. As we conversed, I realized that he had high views of the Catholic church.I tried to explain to him the errors and blasphemies of Catholicism. Then he defended Catholicism by asking, "There's so many problems in the world, why criticize religion?" I thought upon his sincere question for a brief moment and then gave him the following reasoning."Yes, the world is in a mess! Who could argue with that fact? 'Tis true, mankind has never been able to govern himself. However, who doesn't know that? To expose the troubles of the world is like stating that the sky is blue. On the other hand, false religion is deceitful. The devil tries to counterfeit the truth with his lies and Satanic doctrines as best as he possibly can. The average person knows what is wrong with homosexua... More About: Religion , World , Ligi , Corruption , The World
I Go Now to the Holy City
More articles from this author:2007-01-23 23:30:00 At Bolsweert, in Friesland, there was a true lamb of Christ, named Francis, who lived uprightly in the fear of God. He was therefore apprehended and conveyed in a sleigh to Leeuwaerden, where he was asked before the council, why he would not swear, nor observe the Supper with them in the church. He answered: ?My lords, Christ teaches us that we must not swear at all; and because you people are unbelieving and unclean, I will not keep fellowship with you?? At these words the lords were offended, and said: ?We are neither thieves nor murderers; what uncleanness then have we? But it seems to us, that you hold a false doctrine, and of such heretics there are still more, all of whom we intend utterly to exterminate.? Francis said: ?My lords, be not angry; but you high priests, show me the false doctrine which I hold, and this from the Bible, for I have brought one with me; come and instruct me from it.? The lords then counseled with the priests of Jezebel, and said: ?He has despised our ... More About: Church , City , Holy , The holy city 1, 2 |
