I am a muslim first and foremost and a woman second...therefore my priorties are a little different. The words of Allah dominate any individual thoughts or ideas i may have. I have to adhere to Allah's words. My struggle against sexim and the path i must take to fight against it is different then that of a Western feminist or a feminist from China, India or Japan or for that matter the Middle East. Each woman has her own unique set of events and history which shapes her feminist consciousness. Therefore it is highly unfair to put all those who advocate feminism on the same boat because frankly we are not all the same! I challenge any one person who can present to me a set ideals globally agreed upon that underline what a feminist is and how a feminist should act!bell hooks (you do not want to make the mistake of capitalising her name..she prefers it this way) says when talking about ...
