Narcodollars for Beginners: How the Money Works in the Illicit Drug Trade
2007-07-29 03:21:00
Introduction: Despite her Housing Agency and Corporate Boardroom background, Catherine Austin Fitts has made it her calling to educate people in ordinary communities about the criminal mismanagement of funds that goes on in our government (and also what they can do about it...see Solari Corp's webpage for her plan to encourage communities to reinvest their savings in themselves). This article is an often referenced classic in that attempt, and don't let the dumbed-down style deter you...it's her belief that complex financial arrangements can be explained to even the financially illiterate.     read more

The EU has the laws of a police state which will be enforced after the sixth treaty is signed. 3. The EU's 111,000 regulations will bring us a soviet style command economy and abject poverty. 4. Unelected EU dictators will control the nuclear weapons of former nations of Britain and France. 5. The EU 's Constitution will compel us to hand over all our armed forces to the EU. 6. Our armed forces and police have been told they will swear a new oath to the EU, or be fired. 7. Its 111,000 regulations will rigidly control our personal lives more so than any nation in history. 8. The 'Natural' Food Scam
2007-07-27 02:54:00
Source: Rense By Shannara Johnson Following the recent food scare from China , 92% of consumers now want "Country of Origin" labels on their food, found the latest poll in Consumer Reports. What a lot of people don't realize is that even food made in the U.S. provides no guarantee against being duped. In an attempt to make healthier choices, many consumers pick food items with the label "Natural" in the grocery store. A 2002 study by the National Consumers League (NCL) showed that 76% of the surveyed believed that foods with "natural" on the package contain at least 90% natural ingredients; another 80% thought "natural" products were good for them. NCL President Linda Golodner begs to differ: "Products with the 'natural' labeling are not required by law to contain only natural ingredients." In fact, in most cases "natural" doesn't mean anything, because unlike the label "organic" it has no de...

The World Bank is Killing Thousands of People
2007-07-27 02:27:00
Source: The Independent While the world's press has been fixated on the teeny-weeny scandal over whether the World Bank president Paul Wolfowitz helped to get his girlfriend a $300,000-a-year gig next door, they have been ignoring the rancid stench of a far bigger scandal wafting from Wolfie's Washington offices. This slo-mo scandal isn't about apparent petty corruption in DC. It's about how Wolfowitz's World Bank is killing thousands of the poorest people in the world, and knowingly worsening our worst crisis - global warming - every day. Let's start with the victims. Meet Hawa Amadu, 70-something, living in the muddy slums of Accra, the capital of Ghana, and trying to raise her grandkids as best she can. Hawa has a problem - a massive problem - and the World Bank put it there. She can't afford water or electricity any more. Why? The World Bank threatened to refuse to lend any more money to her government, which would effectively make it a leper to governmental donors...

Brainwashed at the Mouse House
2007-07-26 21:01:00
When average folk think of Disney, they envision cute animated and live-action films as well as the theme parks which have become modern-day meccas for the middle-class. For nearly a century, Disney has produced tantalizing eye candy to fulfill peoples' deepest and in some cases darkest desires, and Disneyphiles have eaten it up in droves. From "Steamboat Willie" to "Bambi" to Disney World to their "On Ice" tie-ins to all the "Herbie the Love Bug" sequels, Disney's popularity has not only lifted them to the status of America n icon, but a symbol recognized around the world. Even war-ravaged children in impoverished nations can be seen wearing so-called Disneyana. What can be more enticing than the hypnotic "Yo Ho Ho" or "It's a Small World" while floating along the picturesque attractions that have made Disney this planet's most-frequented family vacation destination? The Mouse represents the ideal way of life, a fan...

US Constitution and the Founding Scoundrels
2007-07-26 16:38:00
Source: Rumor Mill News Unfortunately the original Confederate constitution was patterned after the 1787 US Constitution which itself was a repudiation of the whole revolutionary war effort against British dominance. Constitutions are quite unnecessary unless a people surrender all their sovereignty to a government in which case restraints are seemingly necessary to keep that government from ending the people's liberties. The primary mistake with any government is to rely on the democratic process, for by one's vote one surrenders one's sovereignty to those for whom one votes. Any government, and there have been many around the world which have patterned their organizations on the US Constitution, is doomed to failure as far as freedom is concerned. This is from the people's point of view. "All organizations are organized for the benefit of the organizers." From the government point of view government is always a success until it self-destructs from its own internal r...

UFO sightings in Stratford
2007-07-26 04:13:00
Source: Daily Mail A crowd of 100 stunned stargazers brought a town centre to a standstill when five mysterious UFOs were spotted hovering in the sky. Drinkers spilled out of pubs, motorists stopped to gawp and camera phones were aimed upwards as the five orbs, in a seeming formation, hovered above Stratford-Upon-Avon for half an hour. The unidentified flying objects lit up the otherwise clear night sky above Shakespeare's birthplace in Warwickshire on Saturday. Although Air Traffic Control reported no unusual activity, some witnesses were convinced they were witnessing an extra-terrestrial spectacle. read more

Operation FALCON - The USA is turning into a Police State
2007-07-25 17:52:00
Source: The Market Oracle On 29th June, 1934, Chancellor Adolph Hitler, accompanied by the Schutzstaffel (SS), arrived at Wiesse, where he personally arrested the leader of the Strum Abteilung (SA), Ernnst Roehm. During the next 24 hours 200 other senior SA officers were arrested on the way to Wiesse. Many were shot as soon as they were captured but Hitler decided to pardon Roehm because of his past service to the movement. However, after much pressure from Hermann Goering and Heinrich Himmler, Hitler agreed that Roehm should die. At first Hitler insisted that Roehm should be allowed to commit suicide but, when he refused, Roehm was shot by two SS men. Later, Hitler delivered a speech at the Reichstag in which he justified the murders of his rivals saying: "If anyone reproaches me and asks why I did not resort to the regular courts of justice, then all I can say is this: In this hour I was responsible for the fate of the German people, and thereby I became the supreme jud...

Soda Linked to Heart Disease
2007-07-24 21:07:00
Source: CNN People who drink one or more soft drinks a day have a more than 50 percent higher risk of developing the heart disease precursor metabolic syndrome than people who drink less than one soda a day, a new study has found. And it didn't matter if it was a regular soda or a diet soda. Metabolic syndrome is a constellation of health problems -- high waist circumference, high blood pressure, low levels of "good" cholesterol," and other health problems -- that have been strongly linked to developing heart disease, stroke, and diabetes. The study, in the American Heart Association journal Circulation, looked at more than 6,000 healthy people, who showed no signs of metabolic syndrome, and then followed up. After four years, 53 percent of people who drank an average of one or more soft drinks per day developed metabolic syndrome. Those who drank one or more diet soft drinks a day were at a 44 percent higher risk. "The point is that the risk is high no...

The Killing Machine
2007-07-23 22:25:00
Source: Global Research by Fidel Castro (President of Cuba ) It was announced that the CIA would be declassifying hundreds of pages on illegal actions that included plans to eliminate the leaders of foreign governments. Suddenly the publication is halted and it is delayed one day. No coherent explanation was given. Perhaps someone in the White House looked over the material. The first package of declassified documents goes by the name of "The Family Jewels"; it consists of 702 pages on illegal CIA actions between 1959 and 1973. About 100 pages of this part have been deleted. It deals with actions that were not authorized by any law, plots to assassinate other leaders, experiments with drugs on human beings to control their minds, spying on civil activists and journalists, among other similar activities that were expressly prohibited. The documents began to be gathered together 14 years after the first of the events took place, when then CIA director, James Schlesinger be...

The Washington Terrorists
2007-07-23 21:38:00
Source: Online Journal The terrorists aren't coming, they're here . . . in Washington By Bev Conover Online Journal Editor & Publisher Forget Osama and the bin Laden family friends of the Bushes. The real names of the terrorists are George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, and company, plus a complicit Congress that, thus far, refuses to use its constitutional powers to impeach and remove these criminals. Yet, it's "al Qaeda," "al Qaeda," "al Qaeda," according to the corporate media parrots who spew it 24/7. "Al Qaeda" is responsible for every act of resistance to outright criminality in this world -- from fighting the US occupation in Iraq and Afghanistan to attempting to cause mayhem with vehicular Molotov cocktails in London and Glasgow (erroneously called "car bombs" by the corporate media). To hear them tell it, "al Qaeda" is now a franchise operation and one will be opened near you tomorrow. Do you want fries with...

Made in China: to buy or not to buy?
2007-07-23 19:44:00
Source: Pravada What?s wrong with China ? Pet food sickened dogs and cats, then warnings about toothpaste, toy trains, car tires and several types of fish came. The warnings had one thing in common - all of the products came from China. And that has people worried. "I'm scared to death. We are dependent on our government inspecting things," said Joyce Simple, a church secretary, interviewed on a recent shopping trip to a Wal-Mart in Houston. "I would be careful of anything that came from China." For Emily Pokora, a 24-year-old law school student in Phoenix, the problem hit even closer to home. Her cat got violently sick in March after eating tainted pet food. While the cat survived, the episode has shaken Pokora's faith in the products she buys. "You go to the store and you can't trust anymore that it's not going to kill your animal or hurt you," she said. The string of recalls has not gone unnoticed by shoppers, based on Associated Press...

Give Your Best
2007-07-19 03:44:00
People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered. Forgive them anyway. --- If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Be kind anyway. --- If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies. Succeed anyway. --- If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you. Be honest and sincere anyway. --- What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight. Create anyway. --- If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous. Be happy anyway. --- The good you do today, will often be forgotten. Do good anyway. --- Give the best you have, and it will never be enough. Give your best anyway. --- In the final analysis, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway. by Mother Teresa read more

The Real Face of the European Union
2007-07-17 01:24:00
The EU has been sold to Britain as our best hope for the future... But behind the scenes, has another, more unsettling agenda been unfolding? The European Economic Community (EEC) began for Britain as a free-trade agreement in 1972. Today's European Union is well on its way to becoming a federal superstate, complete with one currency, one legal system, one military, one police force and even its own national anthem. In this shocking new documentary featuring EU insiders and commentators, independent author Phillip Day covers the history and goals of the European Union, as well as the disturbing, irrevocable implications this new government has for every British citizen. Whether the viewer is for or against Britain's participation, this film asks the troubling questions the mainstream media has refused to confront. What Is Intelligence?
2007-07-16 01:46:00
Source: Haveford What is intelligence, anyway? When I was in the army, I received the kind of aptitude test that all soldiers took and, against a normal of 100, scored 160. No one at the base had ever seen a figure like that, and for two hours they made a big fuss over me. (It didn't mean anything. The next day I was still a buck private with KP - kitchen police - as my highest duty.) All my life I've been registering scores like that, so that I have the complacent feeling that I'm highly intelligent, and I expect other people to think so too. Actually, though, don't such scores simply mean that I am very good at answering the type of academic questions that are considered worthy of answers by people who make up the intelligence tests - people with intellectual bents similar to mine? For instance, I had an auto-repair man once, who, on these intelligence tests, could not possibly have scored more than 80, by my estimate. I always took it for granted that I was far more int...

China's FDA solution
2007-07-16 00:03:00
Source: Newstarget What's interesting about China 's execution of its top FDA official (Zheng Xiaoyu) for accepting bribes from drug companies is not that China executed a corrupt official, it's that such harsh actions demonstrate, in contrast, the complete lack of action against corrupt FDA officials in the United States. In the U.S., the more corrupt the politician or bureaucrat, the more power they seem to gain, and those who demonstrate the most extreme degrees of evil, greed and contempt for fellow human beings seem to end up at the very top. read more

Babies not as innocent as they pretend
2007-07-15 03:51:00
Source: Telegraph "Sin is universal, not because of an inherited sin nature, but because temptation is universal, and, because when men are tempted, they choose to indulge their own desires, rather than obey the law of God." Whether lying about raiding the biscuit tin or denying they broke a toy, all children try to mislead their parents at some time. Yet it now appears that babies learn to deceive from a far younger age than anyone previously suspected. Behavioural experts have found that infants begin to lie from as young as six months. Simple fibs help to train them for more complex deceptions in later life. Until now, psychologists had thought the developing brains were not capable of the difficult art of lying until four years old. Following studies of more than 50 children and interviews with parents, Dr Vasudevi Reddy, of the University of Portsmouth's psychology department, says she has identified seven categories of deception used between six months and...

The Hot Springs Police Department Internal Affairs Board found the use of force was within the police department's policy on non-deadly force and recommended "no changes to this policy." The video shows Williams apparently choking one of the [youngest] skateboarders after forcing her to the ground, then later chasing and wrestling two others while holding them in a headlock.
