From now on the civil servants working under the Negri Sembilan’s state government will be subject to disciplinary actions if they are caught going for afternoon/evening tea breaks. Nanyang Siang Pau recently reported that new regulation only allows the workers to go for two breaks in a day - morning from 10am-10.30am, and lunch (1pm-2pm). Previously, the civil servants in the state government was allocated an afternoon break, in between the lunch and the day end. However, numerous complaints have been received by the government which indicated that the workers ‘took break too frequently, and often left the public waiting unattended.’ Some of the breaks have been regarded as unnecessary.
