How do we live in a world, that seems to be speeding up? Are we really ready to be a global community? Can we actually be thrust together and hope to have enough tolerance to accept each other's differences?The Truth is, that is not the future, it is the world we live in right now. I was talking to my father this past weekend, and he is from a generation when towns were communities, where small shops lined the streets. There were no super Wall Marts or Shopping Malls. When you went to fill your gas tank up, you went to Service Stations, where guys in uniform would come out and wash your windows, check your oil - today it is not like that many places, if any.I tried to discuss with him the changes with the world are actually bringing us together.In truth, it is rare to have a community like they had back then, small towns helping each other, especially where I live now, small shops, are be coming extinct.I guess that is why they called it the "Good ole Days".If we look back, an...

Getting youth involved - UNICEF and the Morgan Stanley International Foundation announced they have begun the selection process for 13 to 17 year old youth to attend the Junior 8, 2007 Summit in Wismar, Germany.This summit will be held in conjunction with the meeting of world leaders at the G8 Summit Germany 2007 this June."As we have seen in previous years, young people the world over feel passionately about the environmental, social and economic issues facing our world today. What does it take to change the world?Time and Press ure. No one person can face the world and change it, it takes many people doing little things and combined creating a force that affects change for the positive.Most of this change, we will not see in our life times, but our children will and they will be able to carry the torch to make this world better. To eradicate disease, to end global poverty, to find new, cleaner energy resources, to save our forests and make our children safer, equal rights for all women around the world.If one looks through our history books, we can see a pattern that all great men and women did not live for their current generation, they worked for the next generation. I just Finished reading a Hand to Guide Me, by Denzel Washington. Awesome book, as you may have known this is his first book, and what a remarkable individual. You know him as an actor/celebrity but as a human being he is very special.In the book Denzel takes us back to when he was a child, and the people who influenced his life mainly the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.Believe me when I tell you this is not a typical Celebrity book, filled with gossip or how they got their first movie gig.
