Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming. Ephesians 4:14As we grow unified in Christ and are built up and instructed through our study and personal time with the Father we will become immune to the passing fads and latest church building plans. People can see through the marketing schemes and if we aren't solid in our faith and knowledge all the church planting conferences in the world won't do any good for His kingdom.As I study more I'm continually blown away by all the "factions" within the Protestant church, the new "right" ways to do things and the varied doctrines sworn to be correct above all others, but I can't let all that bother me and take me away from my purpose. Money, debt, holding someone else's debt; they all get in the way of unconditional love and put a damper on being able to show God's love through the finances He has blessed you with.I gotta get this "compartment" of my life under control. You all know this compartment, it's the one that enables you rationalize your spending habits, putting yourself and this world over Him. I can never fully praise Him with giving until I break free from the slavery of debt. Seems simple right...........hold on, I'll get back to you, got some Christmas shopping to do.Lord, break me.

It's titled "Deus Lo Volt". Everyone from peasants to noblemen joined the cause of the Pope to reclaim the holy lands, especially Jerusalem, from the pagan Turks and Arabs. Their cheer was "Deus lo Volt", God wills it. Apparently they never read this verse because some apparently believed it was God's will to stop half way on their journey and slaughter Jews, Jesus' murderers. This verse explains to me, I think, that God also sacrificed his chosen people, their hearts hardened, to pave the way for Gentiles to be saved by His sacrifice of His Son. What then? Are we to sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means!Romans 6:15This seems to have been as common a problem back then as it is today. People using the grace of God and his gift of salvation as a license to live however they pleased. Paul goes on to say that if you are still willfully living in sin you are slave to the sin and lawlessness and ultimately to death. Once we take on the badge of the cross and submit to God we are free of sin and "slaves of righteousness".St. Augustine said to love God and do as you please. Was he endorsing the Nicolaitan lifestyle here? Not at all, with a true love of the Father in our hearts we'll not want to do anything to disappoint (tick off) God. We weren't doing a good job on our own. That what is meant in verse 10, as originally read in Psalms, "None is righteous, no, not one; No one understands, no one seeks for God. Dr. Robert Cade, the inventor of Gato rad3 passed away on Tuesday. It was 1963 when then coach Dwayne Douglas asked Cade, "Doctor, why don't football players wee-wee after a game?" OK, I'm psyched now! This'll be my third Winter Jam so I've seen NewSong a few times (although I never'll get tired of seeing theses talented guys) and I've already seen Mercy Me in concert but check it out..............Skillet! I can listen to them all day, especially Lori Peters destroying the drums. She absolutely rocks. Add to that BarlowGirl with sister Lauren on the skins and you've got two awesome chick drummers that I can't wait to see. Besides all of that, I'm not to modest to get my groove on to a little Mandisa. I'm definitely there............!

For you remember, brothers, our labor and toil: we worked night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you, while we proclaimed to you the gospel of God.1 Thessalonians 2:9Paul and his merry band of evangelicals purpose was spreading the Gospel. Period. No permanent positions on a new church plant network, not as traveling motivational speakers going from conference to conference. These were guys with real jobs, Paul was a tentmaker, that took care of themselves. They gave 100% of themselves without taking anything in return. This was the missional church of Acts. Give all of yourself. Support yourself. No burden of responsibility on those you're reaching (totally unlike the Levites of the Jews). Preach His Gospel. Done.That's my job. Spread the Good News. Possibly suggest methods of study to help new believers feed themselves. Give praise. Move on. No accolades, no paychecks, no titles, no best live's now. OK, so this is a little belated, but here was our set:Where's the LoveBreatheLove the LordBy His WoundsIn Christ AloneMadlyI had planned on standing in for Andy on bass but some last minute adjustments had to me made. I ended up on Cajon for most of the set with Joe on vocals and Carly and Nikki on female vocals. I did get to strut my bassist stuff on In Christ Alone. The song didn't lend itself to percussion of any kind and it sounded great with Joe on acoustic, me on bass and Nikki taking the lead on vocals. Carly was an awesome surprise. We weren't sure if she'd be there but we were all thankful and she busted out Breathe like she'd rehearsed it all week. Of course Joe rocked Where's the Love........I'm hoping to do our own version of that sometime with the full band behind it. See you next time.............

And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold.Matthew 24:12This is included in Jesus' response concerning signs of the close of the age. Christians would become outcasts, betrayed and hated by others. Thus the door would be opened for false prophets and teachers leading many astray. Without the foundations of a love and respect for Christ morality would be on the decline, respect for any authority would plummit and lawlessness would become the norm. The love and fear of God is what originally differentiated the civil from the uncivil. When this is taken out of the equation anarchy will reign and the love will fade from our hearts.
