Lindsay Lohan Is Still Boozing And Drugging
2008-02-06 19:01:00 Lindsay Lohan has finally wised-up about her drinking and drugging. No, I don't mean Lindsay has stopped drinking and drugging - I mean she's gotten smarter about when and where she does them.Wanting to avoid getting caught in any embarrassing situations, Lindsay has reportedly ceased hanging out in clubs, and moved her nocturnal activities to private "mansion parties" where she is less likely to be snapped by photographers or sold out by spies. The mansion parties are private affairs that only celebs are normally invited to. In spite of this, a few eyewitness accounts have managed to trickle out. One says Lindsay was snorting something at a party in the Hollywood Hills above Crescent Heights.I smell more DUI shenanigans in the offing. We're gonna get to see Lohan chucked in jail yet. Just be patient, my children.(source) More About: Lindsay Lohan , Lindsay

First buy not best buy in airline tickets
2008-02-06 13:37:00 NEW DELHI: The early travel planner pays less for the aircraft seat. That’s what most airlines tell you with slogans like ‘the earlier you book your air ticket the cheaper deal you get’. Well the truth is that you can get a cheaper deal if you are a last-minute passenger! As per market researcher PhoCusWright’s report, low-cost carriers (LCCs) in India are not following the traditional air yield management model which follows the principle of ‘the earlier you buy, the cheaper fare you get’. Around 70% of LCCs capacity is sold in last three days of the departure, making India a unique market where the air yield management systems have failed. The airlines maintain that the dynamic pricing is followed, but owing to overcapacity in the domestic market and consumer behaviour, the yield management systems do not confirm to global standards. “Owing to the competitive nature of the market and excess supply on metro routes, LCCs have not been able to follow the traditional air... Hospitality hopes for better infrastructure
2008-02-06 13:30:00 MUMBAI: Rising hotel room rates may be pinching consumers, but hospitality majors are not complaining. It is possibly one of the most vibrant sectors in a buoyant Indian economy. Several domestic and global players are rushing to claim a pie of this market on the back of a huge supply-demand imbalance across cities. Among the future room supply in major cities, Bangalore is expected to get the maximum supply of rooms at 14,698, followed by Mumbai at 11,732, Delhi at 9,869 rooms, Hyderabad at 9,810 rooms and Pune 9,360 rooms. The continued demand-supply imbalance has led to exponential rate increases, resulting in inflated room rates across key markets in the country. “The growing IT and ITeS footprint across tier I and II locations and the lack of suitable facilities are driving the need for different class of hotels,” Homi Aibara of Aibara Consultants said. According to estimates of the World Travel and Trade Council, Indian tourism demand will grow at 8.8% between 2004 and 201... More About: Hopes , Infrastructure , Hospitality

2008-02-06 10:53:00 When it comes to seducing a man, it’s not the looks that make the cut but the woman’s message which has to be clear enough to give the right cue, suggests a new study. Ina study, conducted by British researchers, 30 men were asked to listen to recordings made by four women aged around 25 who said the phrase: "I really like you." The research team, then asked the male volunteers to rate the women for attractiveness purely on the basis of the sound of their voice. They were shown no pictures. When the pitch of the woman's voice was slightly raised by increasing the playback speed, the attractiveness rating increased. The higher the pitch, the more the men liked it, even when the women's voices were tuned higher than average. But when men listened to the same women saying the phrase: "I don't really like you," they downgraded the attractiveness of the voice, regardless of the pitch. And when the offending p... Addressing a seminar on Kashmir Solidarity Day at a local hotel, they said the faulty policies of President Pervez Musharraf over the past eight years had pushed the Kashmir issue to the backburner. Predicting that it would remain unresolved as long as Musharraf remained in power, the former soldiers said sacked Supreme Court Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and incarcerated nuclear scientist Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan seemed the ideal leadership choices for Pakistanis. Overseas students in Australia most susceptible to exploitation
2008-02-06 10:43:00 Indian and other overseas students in Australia don’t have enough money to eat, are paid well below the minimum wage and are among those most susceptible to exploitation, according to a new research. BBC in the dock over racial stereotyping and apology
2008-02-06 10:34:00 A series of complaints have been received by BBC’s Radio4 programme, accusing it of "pandering" to political correctness after it apologised for broadcasting a debate about a plant nicknamed "Black Man's Willy". Radio 4 received a flurry of complaints from listeners to Gardeners' Question Time last October after its presenters giggled their way through a discussion about the specimen - the purple bell vine - that was packed with innuendo. While some in the audience laughed as one of the panellists, Anne Swithinbank, talked about the specimen "hardening off" and "shrivelling up", other listeners accused the show of indulging in racial stereotyping. According to The Telegraph, their complaints were upheld on Tuesday by the BBC's editorial complaints unit, which said the programme makers did not fully appreciate the potentially offensive nature of the debate. Tapped calls of suspect terrorists admissible as evidence in UK courts
2008-02-06 10:34:00 The Gordon Brown Government has reportedly cleared a proposal that will allow intelligence outfits -- MI5 and MI6 to tap phones of suspect terrorists and present them as evidence in a court. The historic change is significant in that Britain and Ireland are currently the only nations that do not allow wire-taps to be used in this way. According to The Sun, Brown will accept the findings of a review of intercept evidence he ordered last year. This hugely controversial step has been strongly opposed by security chiefs. They have warned that once phone tap evidence is allowed, terrorists will be able to work out how it was obtained, and will then be able to devise new methods of communicating. Shadow Home Secretary David Davis backed the plan, saying: “This sounds like a breakthrough. Former Labour Home Secretary David Blunkett warned of “major challenges” and said intercept evidence was not a substitute for pre-charge detention.
