Migrating Tanh and Dismantling Drupal
2009-09-18 16:31:00 A strange post… considering the one it follows, but I’ve decided to re-purpose “tanh.net” and migrate it’s content to “adie.me“: Months ago I purchased the domain “adie.me“, mostly because I liked the idea of having the email address “m[@]adie[.]me” (Matt Adie .me – cheesy I know but I like it). I’ve also had the urge to use “tanh.net” for something (I know not what) other than a personal blog. .. and really… that’s what “adie.me” seems made for. I’ve also decided to give Wordpress a try. I love Drupal but: It always leads me down a path of complexity, and due to a heavy use of modules I always seem to have a difficult time upgrading. It’s incredibly versatile, and I highly recommend it as a CMS, but generally speaking it’s overkill for a blog. It seems to be resource heavy on my shared hosting service’s mysql se...
Upgrading Tanh
2009-01-27 22:12:00 You may have noticed that the photo and video sections of this site have disappeared... This is because I've had some compatibility issues upgrading from an early version of Drupal 5 to Drupal 6.9. It may take me a little while to get around to it, but I do plan to restore most of the missing content. I will also be adding a fair bit of new content, and the order of things may change to reflect it. I must say that I’m happy to be back, and outside of my upgrade issues Drupal 6 is a beautiful thing. You I never realized the number of sites that have been using drupal: The Onion, Warner Brothers, HarvardScience, SonyBMG's BS Weekly, Amnesty International, Popular Science, and Forbes Office Pranks.

2009-01-09 19:55:00 So it's now 2009 and I've got some plans: Get back into training... it's been a year now since I've done much of anything --I'd like to gear up to run a couple of races this summer. Make money, save, and invest... I need the money to buy a building in the next couple of years. Learn the art of frugality, and read more about investing. Take a course in renovations, and read a couple of books on the subject. Continue to tweak my attempts to be environmentally sustainable (I love my worm bins). Get back into blogging.

End of Brave New Waves
2007-03-20 15:02:00 Apparently on January 17, 2007 CBC Radio 2 announced that Brave New Wave s would be removed it's line up, and according to Justin at Metroblogging Montreal this is it's final week. This represents the end of an era for me. I grew up listening to Brave New Waves ... I first heard it when I was 14 and Augusta La Paix was the host... I listened to it throughout the Brent Bambury years, and continued listening to it well into Patti Schmidt's run. Since it aired on weeknights from midnight to 4 a.m I had many a rough and sleepy morning throughout high school. Really it had a bigger influence on my musical tastes, probably even my personality, than any other single media source. Every year I'd visit my father in Ontario (I grew up in Moncton) and be armed with lists of albums to be filled at Record Peddler in TO. Been Over a Week
2007-03-18 02:15:00 Wow it's been over a week since I've posted anything... now that's a shame. Today I posted a review of the Expo Manger Santé to Midnight Poutine. If you like organic food it's an event well worth checking out. However, tomorrow is the last day, so if you can find some time around the St Patty's Day parade you should head on over to the Palais des congrès. At any rate, I got really sick last weekend, and I've spent most of the week recovering. I haven't really been training, going out, or writing all that much. Usine C: Constellations and Robots

It's been a while since I've seen something as stunning as Johnny Ranger's Les Const ellation s Dynamiques (my review on Midnight Poutine), and it left me wanting more... 2007-02-28 19:46:02 So I wrote my DemoCamp Montreal 1 post for Midnight Pout ine, I uploaded some photos to Flickr, and I added a couple of videos to my YouTube account. The event was interesting, nicely setup, and pretty well organized. Criticisms: the presentations by Evonium and Evolution felt more like a sales pitch than a "sharing" (but that's not really a big deal), and the bar was closed (I really wanted a beer).
