Need to try building this old schematic! I take this schematic from my chinese friend in 1992. This TV Transmitter works in VHF TV Band I and you need crystal for generate the frequency. The final amplifier uses one 2SC1971 and 2SC2053 as buffer/driver stage. If you are creative, you should change crystal with PLL oscillator. Below is UHF VCO for Wideband 470-860 MHz.

That's a nice construction which really will really work well! I would recommend using countersink screws (or some other screws with a very flat head) and putting the head into the can.
