Hi againafter the celebrations of glamorous Goa Carnival what follows is something similar Shigmostav of Goa.history shows link between the Shigmostav & the spring festival celebrations of warrior tribe of Maratha's who once ruled Goa for small time.Shimgostav is integral part of the holi or the festival of colour celebrated all over India.Float Parade is main feature of Shigmostav & like Goa Carnival the parade takes place in all major cities along with many smaller places.The floats in Shigmostav are mainly the mythological figures like Rama,Hanumaji,Ravana etc from hindu epics.the locals participates with their traditional dresses & musical instruments like drum,dholaks or ghumats.the Shigmostav Parade of Panajim city is scheduled on 10 th march & we all are waiting for it.Bye

GOA EXPLORED-TAMBDI SURLA TEMPLE

Hi once again,one of the few exotic places i have seen in Goa & that mesmerised me is undoubtedly the Mahadeva Temp le Of Tambdi Surla.situated on the foothills of Anmod Ghat & on the bank of small Ragada river is this exotic temple which is built by the Kadamba Dynasty in 12 th century.the temple is constructed in black basalt stone in Jain Style.this is the only temple left now in balck basalt.i am not sure but this style could be even Hemadpanthy as the temple top is incomplete.the temple has beautiful carvings on the stone.the temple is situated away in dense green forest & when i visited last in monsoon it was a treat to watch this temple at the backdrop of Western Ghats & i could never forget the beautiful site.the temple has three entrances which leads you to garbhagraha.the main festival here is Mahashivratri & lot of local devotees visit the temple.from panajim this exotic place is almost 60 kms & 15 kms from molem.the road shows the directions to reach here &...

Hi once againafter fun & masti of carnival Goa is struggling back to routine life.for a change i will be now exploring Goa for you.i am going to write on places so far not given due attention by tourists coming to Goa but which are worth visiting.we will start Goa explored with Temple Of Tambdi Surla followed by Harvalem Falls,Temple of Bogdeshwara in Mapusa and many more.so please wait for my next post & start exploring Goa.Bye

Hi everybody,Only 45 hours to for the King Momos rule on Goa,the land of Sun,Sand & Sea.The first float parade at the Capital city of Panajim will reveal the creative talents of the people of this land in music , dance & other lively aspects of the life.You will see the reflection of issues dear to their lives in the floats.I will try to upload some photographs of the floats on 18 th feb.Please let me have your comments.Viav Carnival,Viva Goa.Bye.

Hi againhappy to inform you that the carnival parade of the capital city of Goa,Panjim will be held on 17 th feb 2007.the dates of other places are still to be officially announced so please bear with me till then.Everyone here is getting ready to welcome the King Momo who will rule Goa for 4 days during carnival.i am sure the work on famous floats of parade must be at the final stages.i dont know what will be star attraction of the parade.lets guess...Bye

Hi therefrom today onwards we will start build up for the grand carnival of Goa.It is almost 2 weeks now to start the festivities.Lots of foreign & Indian tourists are expected to watch the carnival parades scheduled at Panajim,Madgao,Mapusa & Vasco.So the hotels are over booked as usual & to make the matter worse there is national level Doctors Conference scheduled during the same time.All hotels are booked during those dates.So please paln your trip accordingly.Bye

Hi everybody,Greeting s of 58 the Republic Day of India to all of you.Exactly 58 years agao we adopted our own constitution & became sovereign nation.A grand Republic day parade was held this morning at Capital New Delhi on Rajpath.Indeed the parade showed the world, our military might ,cultural values & vibrant people.I watched the parade live for 2 hrs without break & felt proud being Indian like millions of others around the globe.Bye
