Ebay Update: Shipping
2008-04-30 15:28:00 So far I sold all but two items from my test round on ebay and earned around $8.00. Lucky for me the test round taught me I need to learn a little more about the best route to take shipping items because I sold a few bath scrubs for around $1.50 and the fees took half of that between ebay and paypal. So it looks like I need to either look for items that sell at a higher price or raise my price for the smaller. I plan on hitting a few of the thrift shops and pawn shops this afternoon and this week so I can start listing items again next week. A lot of the articles, books, and blog posts I've come across suggest selling new items but I occasionally read The Auction Rebel and Gary doesn't seem to have any trouble selling used items from garage sales and thrift shops so my focus in May is going to be mainly things that I can find around town at thrift shops, garage sales, used book stores, and pawn shops. Site Update - Using a Custom Domain Name on Blogger

This didn't affect the rss feeds so if your using a feed reader it won't affect your ability to get site updates.We had a death in the family earlier this week so my plans to post more took a little bit of a backseat to getting in touch with my family and seeing if there was anything we needed to take care or help with this week since my family is spread throughout the country. August 2008 Goal - Pay off the Car
2008-04-21 17:17:00 Since I paid our taxes last week I've come to the conclusion that finding online opportunities to make extra income doesn't work if you don't have control of your budget or take action and do something. It doesn't do any good if that extra $2 to $20 is automatically absorbed into your spending each month. So I discovered CVS and their extra bucks deals last week through Money Saving Mom and I signed up for the CVS store card and hit a few of the CVS stores around town on Saturday. I noticed a lot of people save any extras they buy to give away to friends, family, and charity over the course of the year while some save their stockpile for their next garage sale. I am opting to try a variation on the last idea because I have 3 months to raise money to pay off my husbands car.We discovered last week that my husbands car has a large balloon payment due in August that will enable us to pay off the car in full. Today I came across a post over at MomGadget about PubMatic which is suppose to help you optimize the ads you use on your site in order for you to maximize your revenue. I added a calender widget I found over at Blog ger Buster but I think it may be slowing down the loading of the site so feel free to comment and let me know if the site is taking to long to load and I'll revert back to the original date setup.I also submitted the site to several blog communities that have been added to the right sidebar. I've also been using a few traffic exchanges to see if I can find some referrals for some of my programs this week.
