There is too much hate in the world.
2007-07-12 11:16:00
Global warming and taking care of the earth is the main focus here, that's true. But there are also some other important things to focus on as well. Taking of the earth is very, very important, but what about taking care of the people in it?There is too much hate in the world. People are abused and treated horribly all the time. Less and less people are told how much they are loved.Over at Bolts of Bravery, there is a great post called "Write a letter to someone you love". Life is too short, and for many people, much too cruel. You CAN make a difference. Write a letter to someone you love telling them how much you love them, care for them, and appreciate them. The main focus here is global warming and such, but like I said, there are other important things too. Please do check it out.

Make Public Transit Free
2007-07-10 05:32:00
Global warming is serious, and with cars been driven more and more all the time, it's time to start considering making public transit free. Before you argue, please read the 17+ points this article makes:17 Reasons (or More) to Stop Charging People to Ride the BusMany disagreemens are that all the bus equipment, gas, and management costs can just pay for themselves. Another theory is that if it is made free, public transit will be used more and more, using up even more gas.But is it better to have one bus going or dozens of cars? What about all the gas used for each individual person's car? Maybe getting people to use public transit would be better. Just please read the points the article makes. And if you really want to help stop global warming, CARPOOL as much as possible! So many cars are able to hold large amounts of people, some can hold 7 or more people but are often driven in holding only one person. Why waste the space, the gas? Live green! Also, if you have a family and you...

Plan to Cut Gas Emissions Agreed on by G-8
2007-06-07 23:56:00
On Thursday Group of Eight leaders, which includes President Bush, agreed to call for reductions on global emissions, citing a goal of 50 percent cut by 2050. This is a plan to.. you guessed it.. fight global warming! There's a WHOLE lot more to the story, but I'm not going to type it all out here for you. Instead, I'm giving credit where credit is due. Don't Believe What Everyone Tells You
2007-06-06 22:30:00
So many people think global warming is not a fact, but it is! I've talked with some people I know in real life about global warming, and they say, "Well I don't believe in global warming, because my dad doesn't." Or things of that sort... You know, you really need your own opinion and views on global warming. Don't always listen to your parents, your friends, politicians, the media. Even important people and people you love can be wrong. If you're going to have an opinion, you need to base it on facts. Do some research on global warming. Go over detailed reports, graphs, charts, etc. For example, did you know that the past few decades have been recorded the warmest? Some believe global warming is not the fault of people, but it is actually a natural cycle of the earth. But do you realize how people treat things? We use up all of our natural resources and we're very wasteful. We don't dispose of our trash properly. We chug along in our big gas guzzling trucks. To be honest, huma...

Protect Our Beluga Whales!
2007-06-06 03:46:00
Beluga whales are some of my favorite animals. Not only are they cute and unique, but they are smiling and friendly too! They are smart and happy creatures, and they'd make you a quick friend. But there's one problem. You might never get to see one of these marvelous whales, because they're dying out rapidly.I received an email alerting me of the terrbile news. The white beluga whales of Alaska's Cook Inlet will soon be extinct, unless we act fast. Today, there are approximately 300 of these beauties left in the increasingly industrialized waters. That's a 77% decline from the 1980's, when 1,300 white beluga whales called the inlet home. These gorgeous whales never did a thing wrong and they deserve a chance to live. You can fight to give them a chance without paying a single cent, right from the comfort of your home! After many years, the National Marine Fisheries Service is finally offering that the Cook inlet Belugas will be protected as an endangered species. But the propos...

Can a Car Run on Air?
2007-05-31 07:20:00
The air car is ready for mass production, according to an article on Yahoo written by Bob Ewing. The car is supposed to run on air, yes, it's true! But unless you live in India or Asia, you might never get to see it. The air car would supposedly never survive North America's crash tests. What's the catch? The air car uses compressed air to push its engine pistons. Refueling is easy, if you're near a gas station that has a compressed air machine, that is. However, it will only cost about two dollars to refill. If you don't live near a compressed air machine, you can do it yourself, but that will take about four hours.Cons?? To me it sounds like a pretty neat little car, but, like I said, you'll need to be a compressed air machine. Also, while the car puts off only air, fossil fuels will be used to create the electricity for refueling with compressed air (of course, it's still better than our fuel-chugging cars). And this little air car might never be seen in the United States, ...
These Come From Trees
2007-05-31 06:10:00
I found an awesome blog (it even has the same layout as this one, but not for long, as Out With Global Warming will be getting an update soon...) called These Come From Trees . The first thing that I saw on their blog showed these quick facts, and I'd like to share them with you:A typical fast food restaurant with two bathrooms can use up to 2000 pounds of paper towels a yearThe average coffee shop uses 1000 pounds of paper towels a yearA single tree produces around 100 pounds of paper Roughly 50,000 fast food restaurants in the US200,000 gas stations in the US 14,000 McDonalds' in the US There are 10,000 Starbucks in the US Scary, isn't it? Click here to see more. Basically their project is to have stickers for their cause, and when people purchase these stickers, each sticker helps to save about one tree's worth of paper each year. I think it's a fantastic cause and right down our alley! Out With Global Warming isn't just about global warming but caring for the world ;)

Are Scientists Changing their Theory?
2007-05-30 20:26:00
Scientists used to be saying that global warming is real, and that people are causing it by their irresponsibility. But now, scientists are going against the popular scientific assessment of global warming. Climate scientists all agree that temperatures have risen in the past decades, but a small number of scientists disagree with the conclusion that global warming is from human activity.Click here for more information. What does Out With Global Warming think? We still stay true to what we believe! Global warming IS caused by humans. Mind you, only a small percentage of scientists think otherwise. Think about it... What's the coincidence that the lifestyle of people and our resourcefulness has changed these past decades, AND the temperatures are going up? Right. It's not a coincidence.People need to stop being so wasteful and dirty and start cleaning up after theirselves. Imagine all the little babies that are being born today. What do they have to look forward to? When they're al...

Tree Hugging Project: The Kick-Off!
2007-05-21 06:59:00
I'm happy to say I've began my project I've been longing to start. It's called the Tree Hugging Project , and you can view the blog by clicking the link --> Tree Hugging Project. I don't know why I started this, but I think it's very cool. It's not just about being one with nature, but it's also about having something to do, having a project to work on.Each day (or almost everyday, maybe every few days), a new picture will be posted with someone interacting lovingly with a tree. Hugging, kissing, stroking, you get the picture, eh?So check it out and maybe add it to your favorites. Not only are trees shown some love, but you might have some fun looking through the pictures of all the different people hugging different trees. The site is brand new though, so, there aren't a lot of photos yet. But each day there will be a new one, so bookmark the Tree Hugging Project, and revisit it daily!Other blog you may be interested in: Super Blogging - blogging tips, make some money online!

Earth Day is Coming Up
2007-04-18 00:45:00
Hello, fellow Earth lovers! Did you know that next weekend Earth Day occurs? And for us who believe in global warming [ hopefully that's you, right? and if not, let me persuade you! ;) ] Earth Day is quite a big deal. Whether you think global warming is fact or fiction [ it's fact, by the way ] the Earth could always be a cleaner. A cleaner world is a healthier, happier world.Think of the future generations - they'll be affected by global warming to the extreme - and none of this is their fault. Think of your children or grandchildren [ whether you have them yet or might in the future ] Won't they suffer? Do you just want to dump the consequences on them? I would hope not! That's why we ALL need to act on global warming now, even the average Joe and Sally. The big factories do a lot of the damage, but if everyone can start cutting down on their carbon dioxide output, it'll make a WORLD of a difference. Haha. :)Our article containing DriveNeutral's tips is great - Click here to...

It's only the beginning!
2007-04-07 06:49:00
Hi everyone. I guess some people might be doubting of this website because I haven't posted in some time. But I'm here to let you all know that I'm working hard and thinking hard on some upcoming content, and this site is definitely not dead. If anything, this is only the beginning!I've been thinking about a contest. Where you do a few small things to enter, and it's free, and then a random person who entered is chosen to win the prize. The prize will be something like a t-shirt with Out With Global Warming on it, and it will mailed to you free of charge. What do you all think on that one?So I'm sorry if I've been neglecting the site, but I really haven't. I've been thinking about it a lot in the past couple of weeks. Please comment and let me know if you like the idea of contest and if you would enter such a contest. I would like to know people will enter before I purchase any prizes. And also please note, details in the contest could change and it could evolve into a tota...
Going Green doesn't require you to change your life
2007-03-20 01:36:00
"Going Green " doesn't require to change your life. People think that when they're asked to help out with the cause, to do their part in saving Earth, means they will need to change their entire lifestyle and way of living. Wrong. To do your part and help reduce your carbon footprint, you don't need to do everything, and you don't need to do it all the time. For example, taking shorter, quicker showers helps in being resourceful. But you don't need to take three minute showers everyday. If your showers are usually twenty minutes, instead try to reduce them to fifteen minutes or so daily. Or take your normal twenty minute showers half the week, and then take ten minute showers the other half.As long as you're doing something, you're still helping. You don't half to go to the extremes and punish yourself in order to help defeat global warming. Do as much as you can, but you don't need to do everything, and not constantly. But as long as you're doing something, then it's okay....

Make a Poster for Global Warming
2007-03-17 23:01:00
Here's what I'm asking YOU to do. Make one poster (or more is great too). The poster can be about any size, but it needs to be colorful to draw attention to it. Make a catchy title like "You can save the world!" or "You can be a hero!" or even "Stop global warming!"After you make the title, now it's time to write some information on what the person who will see the poster can do to help stop global warming. Browse this website to find the tips you want to include in your poster. (Examples are: *Recycle *Carpool, walk, or ride your bike more often *Take shorter showers *Use your dishwasher with only a full load *Make sure your tires are properly inflated). For some good tips, click here.If you have room in your poster, include that doing things to help save the world from global warming also help you save more money throughout the year. For example, if you insulate your house you will save more money because the heat you pay for won't escape. Or, if you turn your heat down 2 degr...

The Horrible Effects of Global Warming
2007-03-17 05:54:00
Global warming is not something to take lightly. In fact, you should take the matter very, very seriously. Some people say, "Oh, no more cold weather! Longer summers! What's so bad about that?" But think about it... Not only will you dread the 24/7 hot weather, but there will be other horrible effects, such as...More droughts, wildfires, hurricanes, storms, tsunamis, and more. Wildlife will be constantly dying out as their habitats and diets change. Worldwide temperatures and sea level will increase everyday. Is this something you want for your children and all of earth's future generations to have to go through? I would hope not. That's why we've got to do something today!Take a look at these graphs.Doesn't look too promising for our futures, does it? That's why we have to act fast! In around 35 years or less, the polar ice caps will be nearly completed melted, and it will be too late. For tips on what you can do to help the world and turn it around before these prospects bec...

DriveNeutral's Tips on Ending Global Warming
2007-02-24 20:15:00
www.driveneutral.org has some awesome tips and ideas on how to make the world a cleaner, better place. I found them so wonderful that I'm posting some of my favorites on this blog. To see them all, visit Drive Neutral's website!Make your eyes as big as your stomach. The average family of four wastes $600 of food a year. In addition to the unsavory price tag, food waste also contributes to pesticide pollution, fossil fuel use, deforestation, and water use.Plan driving ahead of time.Gasoline made from fossil fuels is the largest man-made source of carcinogens and the leading source of toxic emissions, according to the . EPA. Instead of going on several trips, try to combine them. Combining trips can reduce gas consumption and emissions. And added bonus: your car runs most efficiently when it’s warm.Slow Down.Did you know that driving at 75 miles per hour uses 13% more gas than going 65 miles per hour? Aggressive driving requires more braking and keeps the car in a lower, less effici...

We need effort from everyone
2007-02-22 03:23:00
Some people would say, "Oh, I don't need to change MY lifestyle or the way I do things. One person doesn't make a difference."But that is most certainly false. It takes everyone in the world to make a change on this planet, to turn our earth's warming around and get everything back the way it should be. Imagine all the people who think they don't make a difference. We won't get anywhere, will we?If you think the little you things you do don't matter, you're wrong. They matter a lot, and they mean a lot! If you can do one more thing to change the world for the better, I suggest you do it. One person out of millions and billions CAN and WILL make a difference. And you will be a good role model for others who are still a little hesitant. Of course, going green doesn't require to change your entire life. You can do something simple like make a poster for the cause.TODAY'S TIP: Only turn your dishwasher on when it's full. Wait and run it when there's no more room left. This sa...

Sea Ice Thickness Decreasing
2007-02-06 00:25:00
If the temperature trend continues, it will take aproximately 25 to 35 years until the last polar bears living in the wild die out. Why? There is a lack of ice at the north pole! Take a look:Pretty scary, isn't it? But how can we prevent that from happening anymore? Of course we can do more at home and be more conservant [see other posts in this blog] from now on, but that won't be enough. We'd need to export snow to the Arctic through huge water pumps that pumps in fresh water from Russian or Canadian lakes to the worst Arctic areas. When the freshwater reaches it destinations, it would be made into snow using snow cannons. That's not an easy thing to do. It would require a lot of energy and probably 100-200 billion dollars every year. Not simple, and not cheap either.Since that's pretty much out of the question as of now, we'll have to do something easier. We'll need to build oil platforms in the Arctic. Polar bears can live in the enclosure and be fed by the oil workers. To a...

Spread the word!
2007-02-05 23:28:00
The word needs to be spread about global warming... And thanks to technology, there are so many ways you can do that!One- On this website, there are some buttons in the sidebar where you can "link us". Just copy the entire code below the image. Then paste it into your website, profile, or whatever you want. Be sure not to change the code, or it won't work. This will let people discover global warming and this website-right from YOUR site/profile!Two- Go to www.stopglobalwarming.org On that website you can join in their "virtual march". When you sign up another "marcher" will be listed. The higher the number of "marchers" grows, the more global warming is recognized and the world is shown that people DO care. Also on Stop Global Warming's website, you can see other ways to spread the word and things you can do.Three- Talk about it, and show strength through your actions! Talk to your friends all the time about global warming, and what THEY can do. Teach your community. Then do the ...

What can you do this Valentines Day?
2007-02-05 06:38:00
Valetines Day is coming up, and while love will be in the air, so will pollution... Valetines Day is a nice chance to give back to the world and make some simple changes.* Buy a ream of 100% post consumer recycled paper to make your valentines with this year. Save 5 lbs. of carbon dioxide per ream of paper* Move your heater thermostat down two degrees in winter... Not only is this helping the environment and saving you money, but it gives you an excuse to cuddle up with the one you love!* Carpool! If you're going out this Valentine s Day, carpool [or even walk or ride a bike] instead of driving your own car. Those are only a few suggestions for what you can do this Valentines Day ... But here are some more quick ones: Run your dishwasher only with a full load. Keep your water heater thermostat no higher than 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Take shorter showers. Unplug all un-used electronics, even when they're off. Put on warmer clothes instead of cranking up the heat. Buy more recycled and ...

Do People Care?
2007-02-05 05:29:00
I was recently conducting a search on Yahoo! Answers, asking if people thought global warming was a serious issue... And I've also read other questions similar to mine that people have asked. I'm shocked to hear that a vast majority of people respond saying that they don't care! I will post some answers I see [on my question and on other peoples'], and always update this post with new answers as time goes on..."I am doing nothing to stop it. Global warming is not a FACT."Fact or no fact, global warming is a serious issue. Besides, it's pretty much proven that humans are causing the problems. And no matter what you believe, the world could still be a little cleaner, a little better. All of the factories, all the cars that are driven every day, and all the little things we do or DON'T do at home, aren't helping. Global warming DOES exist, and it is something that needs to be put to an end."I don't think it's a serious issue. Honestly? It's not going to affect me, so why shou...

National parks in danger!
2007-02-03 02:58:00
Some of our favorite national parks, forests, and wildlands are at risk because of global warming. We don't want to lose these wonderful treasures to something we can start working on right now to do away with!Glaciers vanish from Nation al Glacier Park . Mountain landscapes fade in Cascadia parks. Yellowstone's grizzlies face a shortage of food. Colorado Plateau parks become too hot to handle. Scenic meadows disappear in the Rockies. Beaches flood in Coastal California parks. Crowds and pollution increase in Yosemite.Pest outbreaks, less snow, an increase of wildfires, warming temperatures, drier conditions, rising sea levels, and prolonged heat and drought are only some of the things that are destroying our national parks for good. The beauty that we all know and love could soon be lost, in some cases, in less than a few decades. If you don't want to see the gorgeous Yosemite or wonderful Yellowstone gone, then you should start acting now or doing more to do out with global warmin...

Why should you care about global warming?
2007-02-03 02:29:00
"Why should I care about global warming? It's not like anything serious is really going to happen."False. Unless we act now, the young generation and future generations will have to deal with a hotter world, dirtier air and water, more wildfires, and more severe floods and droughts. It will affect all of us all over the world, not just a select few. This is a problem everyone needs to recognize and fight.Earth's climate is rapidly changing. Global temperatures increased by around one degree Fahrenheit over the last century, and could rise another three to nine degrees globally over the next century if something isn't done. What causes this? A thickening layer of carbon dioxide pollution that traps heat in the atmosphere. If something isn't done and temperatures keep rising, we will have to face disastrous consequences. Sea levels will rise, flooding coastal areas where huge numbers of the population live. Droughts and wildfires will occur more often. Heat waves will be more commo...
