As Thanksgiving Day is being observed in North America today we thought it'd be refreshing to honor the legacy of the Native American Indian. The following is a mini-doc about the making of the Crazy Horse monument in South Dakota. RAYMAN ORIGINS [REVIEW]
2011-11-21 17:30:00
When Ubisoft announced Rayman: Raving Rabbids for the Nintendo Wii five years ago, I assumed it was a strategic move to take advantage of the console?s unique controls and rapidly expanding audience. While the move was certainly family friendly, it left many original Rayman fans wanting more. The series had morphed into the first of two disappointing mini-game collections and the future of the franchise looked dull at best.

When 24 year-old Physicist, Henry Reich, became concerned about the poor state of science and education, he didn't just make an observation, he actually decided to put a theory to work. Reich believed that physics could be taught in a shorter more engaging manner, thus the creation of his YouTube series, Minute Physics. The popular (23,400+ views) clips break down several physics and science concepts with time-lapsed drawings and a detailed voice over, all in under one minute. Genius!

LENTICULAR CLOUDS
2011-11-16 18:08:00
A lenticular cloud is what happens when Mother Nature decides to "exhale" from a mountain top. Think of it as the cloud version of a smoke ring, except these come from condensed moist air, not your tobacco (or ingredient of preference) pipe. Some of the more famous occurences of this phenomenon have taken place atop renown mountains like Fuji and Shasta. Take a look at these to see exactly what we mean:

The TOTO Green Challenge proposes to reduce CO2 emissions in bathrooms by 50% before 2017. RITA INDIANA UNITES
2011-11-15 14:51:00
Dominican author/musician, Rita Indiana, has a knack for conveying powerful social commentary in very infectious (and effective) forms. Her latest video, Da Pa Lo Do, which roughly translates to "There's Enough For Both," takes on the controversial subject of Haitian/Dominican racial division. The visuals portray two young "soldiers" scurrying about the Caribbean countryside who are visited by a black-faced (in good taste) Virgin Mary (played by Rita) and reminded of their unified roots. Very powerful!

NIHALANI STREET TAPE
2011-11-09 20:52:00
Brooklyn-based street artist, Aakash Nihalani, uses a rather ordinary medium--fluorescent tape--to create some extraordinary art. He uses the "street tape" to make three-dimensional "additions" and reinterpretations of outdoor environments. The results are brilliant because, although the art doesn't physically deface any structures, it really encourages passerbys to reconsider the environment around them!
