2008-01-29 20:29:00 The Ninth Circuit, which is the laughing stock of the federal judiciary because it is overruled so often, did something bizarre yesterday: it issued a Constitutionally correct decision. Not only that, the decision meant that a citizens? group will be able to engage in free speech that is contrary to the type of speech the ...

Some Abortion Debate Facts
2007-11-18 20:30:00 There are two major sides to every argument, and when we are talking about abortion debate facts, it is no different. Pro-Choice is a term used for those who are essentially pro-abortion. (...)
And the abortion debate rages on
2007-11-08 17:45:00 One of today’s most controversial topics, the abortion debate pits the rights of a mother against the rights of a fetus. The most common, clear-cut stances on the issue are “pro-choice” and “pro-life,” which hinge on legal and moral considerations. Another common viewpoint is a more blended pragmatist view, which states that abortion should be prohibited except for specific cases. "Pro-choice"

Twisting the Abortion Debate to New Lows
2007-08-01 21:54:00 Reposting of previous post due to publication issues; sometimes free comes with costs!“Gloopity glop,” was the story change from Christy Freeman of Ocean City, MD earlier this week when confronted by police after being found bleeding. Police believe she caused the stillbirth of the “26-week-old male fetus” found wrapped in a towel covered in blood under the bathroom sink in her home. Police found additional bodies of babies on her property. In a post earlier this week, “Asking How Much Jail Time for Women Having an Abortion if Roe Were Overturned?” based upon an essay by Anna Quindlen in Newsweek, regarding the “gobsmacked” look on pro-life activists protesting outside an abortion clinic in Libertyville, IL when asked the question. When posed this way, Quindlen asserts: “there are only two logical choices: hold women accountable for a criminal act by sending them to prison, or refuse to criminalize the act in the first place. If you can't countenance...
Abortion debate rages
2007-04-20 15:59:00 Over the past couple of days I have read some scathing reviews from the left regarding the recent USSC decision to uphold the federal ban on the intact dilation and extraction procedure, otherwise known as partial birth abortion. Pretty much all of the attacks have included two basic arguments, both of which are either dishonest or just poorly reasoned. The first of the arguments is a bad legal argument that pretty much states that two different courts should never come up with two different conclusions to similar questions. The other argument is that this ruling will put the woman's health in jeopardy. Let's start with the legal argument that two courts should never come up with different decisions on similar subjects. This really goes into the questions of staris decisis and what importance precedent plays in making a judicial decision. The problem here is obvious. Seven of the nine justices that were on the court back in 2003 are still on the court today. The 2003 decision wa...

Ultrasound Technology Has Transformed the Abortion Debate
2007-04-05 04:22:00 An aid in making a decision about the life of a child. Karen England - ChronWatch.com This past week Mississippi became the eighth state to enact legislation offering women seeking an abortion the chance to see ultrasound images of their unborn child. The other states giving women this option are Alabama, Arkansas, Indiana, Michigan, Oklahoma, Utah, and Wisconsin. Three other states: Idaho, Georgia, and South Carolina, are currently considering similar legislation. The South Carolina legislation is unique because it would make ultrasound viewing mandatory. Rather than giving women the option of seeing the images, it would require the images to be shown. Naturally, the Pro-Choice proponents think this is bad legislation. But think about it for a minute … shouldn’t we be providing as much information as possible on ALL the choices available to a young pregnant woman? Hmmmm? Do you think that the lives of 5 million babies who have died because of abortion, just since begi...
