2008-02-02 17:07:00 Lots going on as regards John McCain, and people’s perceptions thereof. I see Jonah Goldberg essentially saying ‘he’s not so bad’. I see also, by way of Billy Hollis at Q&O that he’s joined a group of folks saying the same thing. Well, actually, Jonah, he IS that bad. John Hawkins Right Wing News, on the other hand, has nailed down just how badly McCain will do, if he’s the nominee… without, apparently, even intending to. The ones with the biggest objections are the ones who will never vote for a Democrat, and who, on that basis, won’t vote for McCain… Which brings to mind the biggest image issue of all; It’s true, that the differences being discussed are quite minor, but that’s the problem. The key here is that the Liberals abstain on issues they brought in, on issues they battled for, for a long time. Hell they are the ones that signed for the Kyoto Protocol and did nothing. They are the ones that have been harping on Harper to honour the Kyoto Protocol.So in truth the Liberals are what bigots, hypocrits or just cowards or all? Because we all know that if they vote no, they will force an election. 2007-01-15 21:29:01 i shall abstain from writing any posts in here today… other than this since i want to commemorate this day accordingly. Today the mother of a very close friend of mine passed away, I shall not write her name here of course… it is funny how when someone close to you loses a loved one, even without speaking to them, you tend to feel the weight over you just the same. Such was the case today… I was studying when all of a sudden I felt a really bad aura and got a shiver down my spine… a few seconds LATER I receive a message that my friend’s mother passed away :o( I have nothing else to say today… except that today I managed to experience two emotional extremes in a span of a 2 hours. |
