Komli launches Video Ad Network – Video Ad Network Challenges In Indi
2009-09-08 10:49:00
Advertising networks based in India are clearly on an expansion spree as they are trying to enable online advertising through varied channels. Komli, being no different has launched an Online Video advertising network to enable advertisers to place video banner ads through its partner sites. In the first phase of launch Komli would only allow video banner ads and branded video player skins to advertisers. In later stages its plan is to even allow In-video advertising through its partner sites. The Video Ad network would also allow different segmented targeting options like behavior, location and content type to its advertisers but clearly lacks contextual approach. Komli currently has an existing network strength of 3000 websites. It also owns tripraja , loanraja and an media metric tool vizisense along with serving advertising on many varied segmented portals. Komli currently offers various channels of advertising like email marketing, lead generation etc thus provid...

iAvatarZ To Launch A Video Ad Network
2009-07-15 10:33:00
iAvatarZ Digital, online advertising network would soon be launching their own video Ad network. The video Ad network would try to monetize video content of its associate partners by providing pre and post roll Ads. The video ad network would also allow them to provide video banners beneficial for both advertisers and publishers. iAvatarZ provides tailored Ad targeting and monetization services to advertisers, marketers and agencies. The company currently has publishers like Businessweek, Zdnet, Cnet,UTVi,IndianExpress. The main introduction is the company’s foraying into social media marketing solutions which would also compliment its publishers network. The company is also trying to focus more on providing brand building Ad inventory to its partners rather than going for performance based metrics. They would even be launching their own Ad metrics to develop a rating point system similar on the line with GRP-currently applied in television. iAvatarz currently has around 750 onlin...

2009-06-02 19:28:00
DGTL Media’s ad network - Ad Magnet is planning to introduce a video advertising network by the middle of this month. It also claims to have touched 7.5 million unique users in India. And to top it all it is eyeing a growth of 250% in the year 2009-10. According to Exchange4Media, the April 2009 comScore report suggests that Ad Magnet achieved an aggregated reach of 7.6 million unique visitors in India in 2009, a 113 per cent jump. Ad Magnet’s online ad inventory is in effect directly reaching out to 22.5 per cent of India’s Internet population as per the comScore report. Ad Magnet gets these numbers through impressions spread over its 350 publishers and deliver these ads for around 60 publishers. What is interesting to note about this is that Ad Magnet has apparently not increased on its publisher count, at least not in the last 4 months. For a February announcement which claimed they touched over 11 million impressions worldwide (around 3 million in India) also stated th...

IDG Launches Tech Blog Ad Network For India
2009-05-21 08:40:00
IDG which owns the international technology ad network called IDG TechNetwork is bringing the same to India. IDG’s objective is to tap the growing tech blogger scene in India and provide them with an alternative to google adsense. Also there are a dozen other networks like Networkplay.in, Ozone Media (Funded by IDG Ventures), Tyroo, Komli, Tonictag and many more which IDG would be competing with. Afaqs has reported that the ad network would be taking blogs with atleadt 40,000 uniques or more a month. Now if you ask me there wont be more than a couple of dozen tech blogs in India with those kind of unique visitor statistics. India is the first market in Asia (they have been active in US and UK markets) where IDG has started offering its ad network and if things go well then they may look at expanding to china as well. In the US IDG has premium blogs like GigaOm (Om Malik’s WATShow here) as a part of their network. It remains to be seen as to how they attract the Indian b...

Will Google Buy Commission Junction (CJ) Ad Network?
2008-03-20 22:10:00
The giant Google Inc., yes, can afford to buy Commission Junction (CJ) advertising network. Why not? Google just bought DoubleClick company. Google has billions of dollars ready to be deployed whenever the big G finds a company as another asset to its growing Internet business. Though I haven't heard of talks over the near possibility of Google buying CJ, the realization of this forecast is not that remote. I was not expecting that Google would buy Feedburner, my favorite rss burner, but Google did, and I was suprised. Make no mistake. Microsoft is very much uncomfortable with Google's company-acquisition spree. After Google acquired Double Click, Microsoft announced its acquisition of Rapt Advertising Network. The negotiation between Microsoft and Rapt could have been in the offing many months before. Whatever was the previous negotiation, there was no buzz about it. I just learned of the acquisition right after Google announced its final deal with Double Click. Or maybe I ...

News Corp Gets Serious On Online Advertising: Fox Interactive Ad Network To
2007-11-27 04:33:00
Fox Interactive Media (FIM), the online arm of News Corp has plans to become a full service online advertising agency that provides advertising to non-News Corp sites. FIM President Peter Levinsohn told the audience at the Reuters Media Summit today that the advertising network is already in discussion with other News Corp sites for ad sales and that an expansion outside News Corp could come as soon as the first half of 2008, according to Reuters. Levinsohn said that the service, known internally as “FIM Serve” was originally built to serve advertising on MySpace, which would be presumed to be part of, or the same service announced by MySpace November 4. He also noted that the service focuses on graphical advertising and would not conflict with the Google/ MySpace search listings deal. It would however see News Corp go head to head with Google presuming that Google’s acquisition of DoubleClick is finalized. News Corp continues its push towards becoming the major on...
Oodle Revamps Site and Is Testing an Ad Network for Classifieds
2007-11-19 09:45:00
Classifieds search engine Oodle has just pushed through a major upgrade to its Website, which searches 30 million active classifieds listings across the Web. It is also testing an ad network across other sites that drops a local classified from Oodle’s paid listings at the bottom of a related classifieds search on a partner site as backfill, or as a contextual ad on the side of a page. Oodle’s new interface offers better guided search across its nine categories (cars, real estate, rentals, jobs, pets, tickets, personals, services, and items for sale). This includes the ability to refine your search in a hunt-and-peck way by selecting multiple sub-categories at once (for instance, you can look for apartments in both Williamsburg and Tribeca, or for Toyotas and BMWs, all in one search). Depending what category you are looking in there are also lots of helpful geographical sliders and other suggested ways to parse your search (by breed, for pets; by make, price, year ...
Peerflix Hits the Replay Button (Again)—Wants to Become an Ad Network
2007-11-14 03:33:00
Poor Peerflix. It can’t quite seem to figure out what business it wants to be in. The DVD trading site, which already tried to rethink its business last December, has decided that maybe an online swap meet for DVDs isn’t such a great idea after all. Now it wants to become an ad network for movie-related sites. Oh, and it also bought a blog today, TheMovieBlog, for an undisclosed amount. Peerflix will continue to operate its DVD-trading business, which pretty much runs itself on autopilot, says CEO Billy McNair. But today it is launching the Peerflix Media Network, which will be an ad network targeted at movie lovers. Peerflix ads will run across more than 40 partner sites, including Peerflix, TheMovieBlog, Pajiba.com, ComicBookMovie.com, BadMovies.org, ScreenRant.com, and AnimeMojo.com. All together, this collection of niche movie sites attracts about one million visitors a month. TheMovieBlog represents the biggest chunk of that, with visitors fluctuating between...

(Pictures by Sandy Pitt) On August 10, 2007 BU carried the story Legacy of Debt. The issue of the debt burden of Barbados should start to concern Barbadians. We agree that that the government in order to achieve its “vision” of repositioning the economy to one of generating more foreign exchange the infrastructure of Barbados i.e. roads, transportation, ports of entry, health etc must be upgraded. Most Barbadians we think understand that this expansion is required__after all we are a literate people! Komli has gone ahead and introduced an innovative ad network aggregator called Pubmatic for publishers.Pubmatic is an interface between publishers and online ad networks. i.e. it helps publishers manage the inventory of online ads served up from partner ad networks, via a competitive auction route. Currently, PubMatic.com offers four ad networks – Google AdSense, Yahoo! Publisher Network, ValueClick and Komli. Amar Goel, founder, PubMatic.com, says the USP of PubMatic.com lies in “its capability to maximise online ad revenue, simplify the process of implementing online ads through online ad networks for publishers, and helping online ad networks to spread their reach across various publishers”. Yahoo buys stake in Tyroo in a bid to expand ad network
2007-07-18 14:33:00
Yahoo search marketing was launched in india in september 2006. This was the first attempt into contextual ads by Yahoo in India. Though i must say after giving Yahoo search marketing a test drive last year i felt the Internet giant was way behind Google's adwords when it came to search marketing technology and usability aspects of setting up a good search marketing platform. So now Yahoo has gone ahead and acquired Tyroo an adnetwork owned by Smile interactive which claims to have over 1200 publishers including some big publishers like makemytrip.com, indiatimes, moneycontrol and others.MD of Yahoo India George Zacharias, Managing Director – Yahoo! India, said, “We are happy to partner with Tyroo as it gears towards gaining significant market share in the Indian online advertising industry. Massively Hyperlocal Ad Network
2007-06-28 16:20:00
During the dot.com boom, some entrepreneur registered (or tried to) all the zip codes in America,,, in 1999, domain name registration cost $35 per name. Domain names have once again become a land grab business - Financial Times mentions that even the misspelled domain mortage.com recently sold for $242,000 . Tipped by Search Engine Land, Marchex (a company I'm not familiar with) announced yesterday the simultaneous launch of 100,000 local websites with generic domain names like:Cuisine.com, BayAreaHotels.com, SanFranciscoVeterinarians.com and some higher end American zip codes, like 90210.com. The company had gone on a $164 million domain name buying spree last year (imagine having the job of purchasing 100,000 domains). The example websites I perused (listed above) rank local hotels, veterinarians, etc. by aggregating relevant reviews from different sites like Citysearch and Insiderpages. Its current revenue model is nothing more than selling Yahoo ...

Google's Secret Ad Network

It's no suprise that Google offers preferential treatment to it's top publishers, but word has leaked out about an exclusive new ad network so secret that Google hasn't even acknowledged it's existence. John Chow reports that the Google Display Advertising Network was launched to allow Google to go after Fortune 1000 advertisers who are interested in building their brand, rather than simple click-thrus.  The new network has a CPM (cost per thousand) cost structure, instead of the CPC (cost per click) structure of Google's successful AdWords offering. The ads themselves are video and display ads, and each publisher negotiates their own rate with Google.  Sound interesting?  Too bad.  From the article: How do you join the Google Display Advertising Network? You can't. Google won't even acknowledge it exists...
