Written with Adobe's AIR, AMP is a hybrid online/offline application that lets people subscribe to different video Webcasts. Adobe has signed on some initial partners including CBS, PBS, MTV Networks, Universal Music Group, CondeNet, and Scripps Networks. (See my colleague Rafe Needleman's review of AMP on Webware.) 2008-04-04 21:50:00 Later this month, Adobe will release out of beta the AIR-based Adobe Media Player that we first saw at the Web 2.0 Expo a year ago. It's a very attractive video player, needing only a more complete catalog to become a compelling product. (See the product manager's pitch and demo at the end of this post.) As with many AIR programs, AMP is a hybrid online/offline app. If you use it while you're connected to the Net, it will download the media you're subscribed to in the background, allow you to play streaming-only files, and let you browse the AMP catalog of media. Ecco Adobe Media Player (beta).
2007-10-01 13:30:00 Dopo diversi annunci ed anticipazioni ecco finalmente la prima beta del nuovo progetto Adobe chiamato "Adobe Media Player" o AMP. E' una applicazione AIR che si scarica piuttosto agevolmente e con discreta rapidità e si va quindi ad installare su qualsiasi PC o Mac. Se non avete AIR installato non c'è nessun problema, l'installer procede automaticamente alla sua istallazione. AMP è il primo aggregatore di Podcast, sullo stile Miro e iTunes, che però lavora con file in formato Flash. Potenziali sorgenti di contenuto sono quindi tutti portali video che lavorano in questo formato, ovvero praticamente tutti. Il funzionamento del Player è piuttosto semplice: un catalogo dove scegliere quali show guardare, un archivio degli show preferiti, un elenco dei file che si è proceduto a scaricare compresa una selezione delle ultime novità.
