Prima Guides for LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures
2008-06-08 12:01:00 Having just watched the new Indiana Jones movie like many other filmgoers, we will be feeling in the Indiana Jones mood. On a side note, the movie was very good and a great addition to the Indiana Jones franchise, although I did not expect aliens to be in an Indiana Jones movie and that felt ...

LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures video review
2008-06-07 15:42:00 Once again rendering a beloved George Lucas creation in LEGOs, LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures features the intrepid explorer in an epic adventure based on the film series. Developed by the same team that created the LEGO Star Wars series, LEGO Indiana Jones presents a tongue-in-cheek take on the first three cinematic adventures of ...
The Adventures Of Kit Carson
2008-06-04 16:22:00 The Adventures Of Kit Carson is not only the title of a 1950’s Western TV show from the states, it is also the name of a new concept store in Mitte. The little shack that looks like it was transplanted from an outdoor location in the Wild West contains anything but Cowboy hats. You’ll find ...

DJ Stevo’s adventures!
2008-05-27 13:56:00 I must admit I did think that Sunday night went very well even tho we went up against Pulse in a DJ off lol, in the end Pulse won with their School Disco but they ended up poaching 1 of our customers (well 2 but 1 only went down for a free shot). Me and joe (one of my fellow writers and one of my best friends) DJ’ed for the best part of 4 hours (we actually done 5:30 hours as we done a bit after football had finished). We got people dancing to the most random songs, had people requesting songs, drinking alot and having fun. We have been asked to go back every sunday for the next two months, it is a good start to our DJ’ing life which will last all of two months.
Book Review: The Adventures of Slim & Howdy by Brooks & Dunn
2008-05-26 20:45:00 Brooks & Dunn’s first novel, The Adventures of Slim & Howdy, chronicles the chance meeting of their alter-egos and the ensuing series of misadventures in comic crime novel fashion. Slim and Howdy, born in the short stories written in the liner notes of Brooks & Dunn’s albums, are a couple of gun slingin’ singers ...
Further adventures at Dordoi Bazaar
2008-05-26 13:10:00 I really cannot ever go back to Dordoi ever again. I am hardly what one would call a shopaholic; in fact, I?m usually pretty cheap. Unfortunately, markets and bazaars just break down my resolve. My previous (and first) trip to Dordoi Bazaar netted me three ridiculous and utterly impractical pairs of shoes. Afterwards I swore that I?d never go back. Apparently I lied.Last Saturday Katy and I went to Dordoi for the purpose of buying black sandals. I made a point of bringing enough money to cover black sandals, lunch and transportation, figuring that way the massive amount of temptation would be rendered nonexistent. Unfortunately, Katy brought plenty of extra cash and kept saying, ?I can pay for it and you can just pay me back.? Really, I can never go there ever again; my salary is too small for this nonsense. But check out what I got, as it?s awesome :-)What I went there for in the first place...Some lovely balls to decorate the kitchen...How 'bout them apples? And obviously I had to...

2008-05-26 08:59:00 Funcom’s newest massively multiplayer online role-playing game makes quite a first impression. Adventures of Young Indiana Jones ? 3: DVD review
2008-05-21 18:04:00 Well, volume three is cut down to a more manageable 10 discs, of death-defying adventure in exotic locations, propitious meetings with interesting or soon-to-be famous people, and enough short informational features about historic people and events to satisfy anyone?s History Channel jones. After watching all three sets and dimly recalling the series as ...
Adventures in Police Professionalism
2008-05-21 14:49:00 Radley Balko rounds up a few of the most severe bits of recent police misconduct. I don't know if these incidents are happening more frequently, or if I am just aware of more of them. I suspect both. I think law enforcement is due for an overhaul.

The Adventures of Indiana Jones (Raiders of the Lost Ark/ Temple of Doom/ L
2008-05-20 15:00:00 As with Star Wars, the George Lucas-produced Indiana Jones trilogy was not just a plaything for kids but an act of nostalgic affection toward a lost phenomenon: the cliffhanging movie serials of the past. Episodic in structure and with fate hanging in the balance about every 10 minutes, the Jones features tapped into Lucas's extremely profitable Star Wars formula of modernizing the look and feel of an old, but popular, story model. Steven Spielberg directed all three films, which are set in the late 1930s and early '40s: the comic book-like Raiders of the Lost Ark, the spooky, Gunga Din-inspired Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and the cautious but entertaining Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Fans and critics disagree over the order of preference, some even finding the middle movie nearly repugnant in its violence. (Pro-Temple of Doom people, on the other hand, believe that film to be the most disarmingly creative and emotionally effective of the trio.) One thing's for s...

I was able to to spend plenty of time with her until yesterday morning when I woke up with my own dreaded lurgy. Now we’re both feeling sorry for ourselves and I need to keep my distance so she doesnt add what Ive go to her list of ailments. Ive set up the phone in my room so we can chat though . HEADoc Concedes (Adventures of The HEADoc)
2008-05-19 20:36:00 The HEADoc has made the decision to concede. . . from his 4 month one on one campaign of taming nature which he referred to as a challenging but enlightening experience that had therapeutic benefits in all 3 spheres of mental, spiritual, and physical health. The most devastating blow to the campaign surprisingly was not the 2 fires or the constant myalgia but turned out to be the escalating effects of the imminently approaching scorching summer sun in conjunction with multiple chigger bites in uncomfortable places and finally a tiny deer tick found attached with the characteristic bulls eye rash that often precedes Lyme?s disease. The HEADoc did learn that all ticks don?t carry the pathogen but even when infection occurs it is usually completely curable if treated with a course of doxycycline or amoxicillin for 3 weeks. Joe Thomas? Land Clearing of Silk Hope, NC was contacted for relief and brought in the Bull Dozer and Track Hoe. In 2 days time 2 acres were completely cleare...
Adventures Don't Stop Just Because of Scary Sign Posts!
2008-05-19 20:18:00 Park Rangers have to have a great sense of humor... they work all day in the great out of doors. They meet people from all corners of the globe. (If in fact the globe has corners...) They see the beauty of the changes in seasons: flora and fauna. They have access to the whole park, whereas the rest of us stick to the beaten path. The rest of us also tend to wander a bit to the left and right off that well marked trail. So, I can imagine at the local ranger meeting discussions that might occur.* Bear sightings... yes, they know how to handle that.* Heavy rain, and washouts... time for repair work.* Pesky insects... get a grip and handle it.* Trees down on path... whip out the chain saws and clear them out.* Foot prints off path, plants plucked off trail, garbage left under trees not on walkway. UGH.Then some smart fellow decided to make some signs, post them and watch the folks stroll on by. Believe me, it worked for me! No way was I even going to walk on the side of the walkway... I...

2008-05-12 05:35:00 This long-awaited DVD set of the Indiana Jones trilogy is a classy set built for the fan. However, the DVD-extras junky will be disappointed because there's not a bevy of extras: no storyboards, galleries, commentaries, or long-rumored deleted scenes. The three films are the real star here, restored frame by frame and--blessedly--unchanged from their initial release (the first movie has been retitled on the packaging only).

Daniel Pink, THE ADVENTURES OF JOHNNY BUNKO, FREE AGENT NATION author: Mr.
2008-05-09 01:07:00 Daniel Pink has made a career of being first on business themes over the last seven years, ever since publication of Free Agent Nation in May 2001. His theory then? That more of us will be working for ourselves in the future.Well, it?s now the future, so I?ll ask him whether that came true.He also wrote A Whole New Mind, about the the move from the Information Age to the Conceptual Age.But Dan?s newest book may be his greatest leap yet: a manga-style graphic novel titled The Adventures of Johnny Bunko: The Last Career Guide You?ll Ever Need. For my not-so-Japanese-media-savvy friends, what the Japanese call manga, Americans call comic books.Click on the BlogTalkRadio Audio Player to listen to this interview!open separate window© 2008 by Bob Andelman. Adventures on the far side of Issyk-Kul
2008-05-07 09:50:00 (As usual, there are only a few photos below. To see the full set, CLICK HERE. They're not quite in order, unfortunately. After spending four hours in the internet cafe, I just couldn't take it any more.)Bright and early last Thursday morning, Kimberly, Ben Jr and I took a taxi to the airport to pick up Sara B (who works at the American Home in Vladimir where I used to work) and her friend Sasha. Apparently, Sara had been on the way to the train station when she bumped into her friend. Being a rather spontaneous type, as soon as she learned that Sara was going to Kyrgyzstan, she decided to buy a plane ticket there and then and join her! We picked them up and had our driver take us to the Western Bus Station, where we caught a marshrutka to Karakol. The good thing about the marshrutka was that it was only 250soms ($7) per person. The bad thing was that it was terribly cramped. Not as cramped as the inner-city marshrutki, but it wasn?t exactly comfortable. I was seated next to a win...
Adventures of Dating Been Getting Asked Out On Dates Lately and a Quote I L
2008-05-06 10:19:00 Love is such important thing. I think it is worse to be with someone you do not love than being alone. I was with someone in a past relationship for years that I did not love I thought it was torture to the heart. I will never do that again to my heart and soul again. I have been getting asked out on dates lately with wondering what to do. All these guys asking me out I feel bad I don?t like any of them at all.I saw a quote I think about at moments like this with dating on my mind. The quote ?you don't date the person you can live with, but you date the person who you cannot live without ?. I like that quote I think about at times like this with dating. - Love Reading

The overall response of the movie was generally very high. Check the Video out. WARNING:There are some F-bombs dropped.

Outside Adventures
2008-05-05 06:01:00 Families, teachers, and others who care about the well-being of individuals with autism frequently ask for ideas to help prevent isolation. Challenges like loud outbursts, aggressive behaviors, repetitive mannerisms, and meltdowns can make folks hesitate to get out in public. Sometimes it is just easier to just stay at home to keep the peace. The downside to that decision is isolation for our friends with autism as well as for folks in their care network. One way to decrease seclusion and detachment from society is to get outside! Listen Now: or continue reading Wide open spaces allow for loud noises and provide a safe cover of anonymity for our friends who may unusual mannerisms. Getting outside also impacts physical health and emotional well-being. So, get up and get going! 1. Take a Trek. Walk or bike in the park, around the block, or just to the end of the driveway. 2. Around the House. Put a swing in the backyard or on the front porch. Go outside every day to feed the dog, p...

More Adventures of The HEADoc (Spay and Stay Away from Power Lines)
2008-05-04 08:23:00 My cat has lost her mind . . . and I have no training in feline psychology. She's 3 years old now. What's that in human years, 16? Erroneously I thought I could keep her locked indoors and avoid having her fixed. Not! As a kitten she once ventured outside and got lost for a couple of hours. A neighbor returned her and for the next couple of years she didn't try that again. The first time she went into heat I had no idea what the heck was happening. She also had worms at the time, so I thought her behavioral changes had something to do with that. The injection at the vet cleared up the worms and he told me not to worry about the estrace cycle. Having her spayed could take care of the problem. I procrastinated. No, I just didn't do it. I got pretty accustomed to her running to the door to greet me upon my return home from work. Sometimes she could be quite annoying by clinging to my every action. This Spring she developed a habit of running past me when I open the door. Once outsi...

2008-04-25 19:48:00 Both our winners of the our latest contests (Justine Picardie's Daphne and Laura Joh Rowland's The Secret Adventures of Charlotte Brontë) have been so kind to forward us their reviews. Furthermore, it seems that both of them have enjoyed their reads, therefore our delight is double.Christine from book-a-rama has published her Daphne review on her blog:Daphne by Justine Picardie is a little hard to describe. It's about a college grad researching Daphne duMaurier while she was researching Branwell Bronte. Are you following me? The narrator (who remains nameless until the end of her story), let's call her Nar, is married to a douche a professor much older than herself. Oh, he thinks he's right smart, he does. Nar loves all things Daphne and is working on a paper about her obsession with the Brontes. Paul, the professor, poo-poos the idea. Daphne is, afterall, just a writer of bestsellers, a romance writer. Paul and Nar grow colder towards one another and Nar suspects Paul's atti...
