(Yah, that picture!) If I hadn’t just talked to my wife (who says everything is smoky but fine at the home), I’d figured I’d be homeless by now. I guess I have to stick to my white smoke/black smoke logic and think that white is good, so don’t panic. But until I see the house, I won’t feel much better. One thing I’ve learned is that with fire and smoke — if it is going straight up at least the wind isn’t in play. So I get some modest comfort in the fact that the huge plume above my house (or where I think it is) is nearly vertical in its ascent. I see a giant air tanker circling close to my neighborhood. Uit meetgegevens van Net Applications blijkt dat zowel Firefox als Safari een iets groter deel van de taart in bezit hebben gekregen. Firefox is met 0,5 procentpunt gestegen tot 14,2 procent. Safari moet genoegen nemen met een groei van 0,2 procentpunt en komt uit op 4,7 procent. Het marktaandeel van IE daalde licht van 79,8 procent naar 79,1 procent. De nieuwe versies van zowel Firefox als IE hebben voor een stijging in het gebruik van de twee browsers gezorgd. Het gebruik van Firefox 2.0, die in november werd geïntroduceerd, steeg tot 7,8 procent, goed voor een groei van 1,5 procent in een maand. Het aandeel van IE7 steeg naar 29,1 procent. Volgens Net Applications zal de snelle stijging in het gebruik van IE7 nu wel remmen omdat de grote bulk de nieuwe browser als automatische update heeft ontvangen.
