Here's some info from their website:Rat Agility is much like dog or cat agility only the equipment is rat sized. Fancy or Pet Rats are very affectionate and intelligent animals. They are as far removed from their wild cousins as a wolf is from a dog. Rats can be taught tasks, tricks and behaviors. More and more people are keeping rats as pets so Rat Agility just makes sense. And, (smiling as I write) the equipment for rats is easier to transport and is easier to build and store then the equipment for dogs and cats.I have found, over and over, with many different ratties I have trained to do Rat Agility, that the animals love the equipment, the tasks and the fuss made over them for doing it as well as any treats they may receive....but mostly they love spending time and interacting with their trainer.

2008-05-22 21:46:00 Gracie and I had agility practice this morning. Bright and early, a very nice weather day to run agility.Mum started with Gracie again, doggone it! Why does she do this to me, I can't stand when Gracie gets to go first. And I make sure everyone knows it. You can hear me barking and whining all the way over to the pig farm a mile away from our practice field. (Oh, and dog did those pigs smell good today, whew!)Gracie did really well, she's even getting some distance from Mum on jumps. She made all her contacts today (Mum led out so it would help her some). She was a bit unfocused at times, especially coming out of tunnels. So Mum needs to get her attention more there. But then she went to the weaves and wouldn't do them - just like she wouldn't do them in our back yard the other day. Mum and Gracie tried a few more times and our trainer couldn't believe Gracie was missing her weaves either and thought that maybe she was hurting some and that's why she didn't want to weave.So M...

What to Wear to Agility
2008-04-28 21:26:00 Saturday to agility I wore every darn piece of clothing I’d brought which, apparently, was not enough. T-Shirt, Sweatshirt, and two coats. But not my winter coat, just a rain coat. Plus my baseball cap. And as I was sitting trying to keep warm, I had a towel over me too that I had brought to cover the dogs’ crates so they wouldn’t see so much and keep them from barking. Anyway… I love to wear comfortable clothes when I do agility. usually I just wear jeans, but they can be a bit uncomfortable. So maybe I should wear some dickies scrubs instead! Scrubs are comfortable and they can be so pretty now, lol. I wonder if they have any with dog patterns, I’ll go and check it out. They also have cherokee medical scrubs. Some of the scrubs are quite pretty and colorful, and short sleeved, and loose fitting so would be every so comfortable! So these cherokee medical scrubs would be nice to wear, too… seriously, I think I’m going to check them out...

AKC National Agility Championships - Day 3!
2008-03-30 20:45:00 We're a little slow going today - lazy day. We went to check on the progress on the AKC website and they've already completed the Hybrid class! Seems our friends Ruth and Zina didn't get in a clean run this morning, but they sure did really well for their first time at Nationals.We saw that a couple of nice folks we met from Tennessee at the Corydon trial are set for the finals this afternoon - Joel and Marvel, and Jean and Keesha, good for them! Also big congrats to Jenn and Guess. It will be a really nice 16" final! Looking forward to that.It looks like two handlers will have two dogs each in the finals - wonder how common that is? 2008-03-28 22:28:00 Some of the results are coming in for the International State Tournament being held today at the AKC National Agility Championships.The first round of JWW and Standard have been completed and results posted. Over 700 dogs competed in the first round and we were really happy to see a couple of our friends qualified in Round one! Results from portions of round two are just now being posted. This year they will be held on starting this Friday, March 28-30 at Ford Truck Arena and Mustang Arena at Expo Square in Tulsa, Oklahoma.Check back here, we may be able to gather some results info and vids!To be eligible for this competition, dogs must have earned 6 Double Q's and 400 MACH points from the Regular Excellent B Standard and Jumpers with Weaves classes during the qualifying dates of December 1, 2006 through and including November 30, 2007.Judges for this years event include: Laura English, Evansville, IN; Donald Farage, Jr., Bartlett, TN; Zera Holm, Fresno, CA; Rachel Long, Rosharon, TX; Jean Munger, Hampshire, IL; and Pamela Sturtz, Afton, NY. The event will include the AKC National Championship, and the AKC International State Team Tournament.The American Kennel Club is announcing the addition of the National Agility Champion title this year.
