Welcome to Atlanta?s Hartsfield-Jackson Airport on Sunday, July 13 and Monday, July 14! I should be writing this post from the Washington DC area, but unfortunately, I am not home. Hundreds of flights were cancelled and delayed on Sunday due to a storm. Although we arrived a few hours late, we were able to make it from Jacksonville to Atlanta Sunday evening in time for our flight to Baltimore-Washington International. However, our 7:50pm flight was delayed to 11:50pm. No problem as we had a lovely dinner at the airport Chili?s. And then we waited and waited and waited and watched for updates on the screen. The flight was rescheduled to 12:30am. We saw other flights rescheduled for 2:45am and 3:00am. At 12:25, the airline changed our gate. This evening, I was booked on AirOne (and no, I did not risk to check any baggage in, otherwise I had 75% chance to spend the next day speaking to the lady at the lost luggage counter).A bus was taking us from the terminal to the plane at Fiumicion airport. The bus zigzagged in-between parked planes, stopping here, and stopping there, until it parked itself next to an empty AirOne plane. Driver got out, talked to some guy next to the plane, who pointed to a Blu-Express plane a bit further on the tarmac. "We have taken the measure for passengers' own safety because certain people could use laptops for negative purposes," Herry Bakti, the airport's administrator was quoted by the national Antara News Agency as saying. The tight inspection on laptops was meant as an anticipative measure against the illegal use of documents for certain purposes, including terrorist activities, he said. The inspection on laptops was done with the help of X-ray devices and by body search, he said, noting that laptops could also be used to hide heroin. Mira and I parted ways, I got in a huge fight with Jet Blue airways and Mexican immigration about departure taxes, Google dropped from their index a hundred pages from Vagabond Journey, and I happenstancially found a photo that was stolen from Vagabond Journey and published without permission in a Mexican tattoo magazine. The topper to all of this is that my laptop computer is quickly kicking the bucket and needs to be replaced with money that I am not sure that I have. But I smile and look onward anyway. For how much fun could life be without a few ruts on the Road every once in a while. 2008-05-15 06:52:00 The Ministry of Civil Aviation has nominated three office bearers of the Nationalist Congress Party in the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (SVIA) Advisory Committee. The workers nominated include Gujarat General Secretary Ashok Goswami, a city-based businessman and a former Congressman who had joined the party a couple of years ago. The other two are NCP youth wing president Pruthul Mehta and state organising secretary Hemang Shah. Mehta drifted from the BJP to the LJP before joining the NCP. Shah is a Maninagar-based transporter. The nominations follow a visit by Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel on April 23, when he had commissioned the arrival terminal of the airport. Patel had shared the dais with Chief Minister Narendra Modi and Gujarat NCP president Jayant Patel (Bosky). Meanwhile, political observers said that while such an appointment would not have been possible in Gujarat without a green signal from the Chief Minister's Office, such a move at this point ...

I mean the rooms are so dusky with minimum lights. Then please take a visit to the rest rooms, what's your opinion about them...?See the people working for the airport itself...? Looks like they're not so friendly, ya...? How about the "taxi competition" atmosphere once you walking out through the exit door...? Arrgghhh, really annoying.Access to the airport...?
