Spurs Should Be Embarrased
2008-07-20 03:44:00
On friday, I brought you a story about Tottenham reporting ManUtd over Berbatov (don't remember? click here) now Sir Alex has had his say and it is definetly worth reading.United had responded to the comments saying that they would fully cooperate with the Premier League, but what did our gaffer say?A National newspaper (The Sun) had quoted Fergie as saying that he expects to sign Berbatov, which Fergie has denied."I don't know where they got those quotes from, it wasn't from me."It's going to be very embarrassing for Spurs because the complaint appears to be on the basis of a story in a paper." If this is the only thing that Spurs are basing their complaint on, then they will look stupid.Something that has been pointed out to me that I forgot is: Tottenham have recently signed a youngster from Crystal Palace for about 3.5 million pounds less than he is worth and many people believe that they have stolen that player from Palace. But I don't hear them saying anything about that....
United Reported Over Berbatov
2008-07-18 15:42:00
Tottenham have reported Manchester United to The Premier League over their interest of Dimitar Berbatov, are we as bad as Real Madrid?Manchester United have reportedly been after Tottenham striker Barbatov and today Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that we have made a bid for him. This evening it is being reported that Spurs have reported United and Liverpool over their interests of Berbatov and Keane.United have reported Real Madrid over their interest with Cristiano Ronaldo (nothing was done about it but it looks like it doesnt matter now anyway what with him staying) and now we have been reported. Are we as bad as Real Madrid? There is a big difference between what United have done and what Madrid have done, we have actually made a bid for the player instead of making the player feel uneasy and pressuring the player to say something.I don't think that Fergie should have come out and said something but I don't think we are as bad as Real Madrid.Today's public comments by Manchester...
Is The Saga Finally Over?
2008-07-18 15:17:00
Sir Alex Ferguson has said today that Ronaldo is staying, but is the saga finally over? Now I don't want to sound to down hearted but I won't believe that this saga is over until Ronaldo says that he is staying at Manchester United.Ferguson has confirmed today that he held talks with Ronaldo last monday, he also said that both he and Ronaldo put their points across.Ronaldo did say the other day that something will be annouced in the next few days, so this could possibly be what he is talking about. The gaffer has also announced that Ronaldo WILL be staying at Old Trafford for atleast the next season, which is good news for United fans but he must be prepared for some stick from some because not all United fans idolise him anymore. Here is what he has had to say:"The meeting went well - I think we both put across our points of view - where we stand and where the player stands."I can say he'll be a Manchester United player next season. That's our stance - he won't be sold.Asked why ...
Queiroz Leaves United
2008-07-12 02:54:00
Image details: Manchester United v Chelsea - UEFA Champions League Final served by picapp.comCarlos Queiroz has left Manchester United to become the new Portugal manager, I think that this has become pretty obvious during the last few days.I would have loved Queiroz to stay at United but good luck to him.Queiroz has signed a four year deal and Manchester United are now looking for a new assistant. This has brought to an end his second spell at United which has seen him win two Premier League titles, Champion's League title and a Carling Cup and Community Shield winners medals.Queiroz was first at United during the 2002-2003 season but then he became the Real Madrid boss, but then he rejoined United in 2004.Here is what Queiroz, David Gill and Sir Alex Ferguson have said:Fergie:?Carlos is one of the best coaches in world football," Ferguson said. "His attention to detail, ability to innovate and will to win have been a key factor to the team?s recent successes. He has played an impor...
Cristiano Ronaldo Latest
2008-07-04 06:00:00
There have been a few rumours on the latest of Cristiano Ronaldo today, not much of a surprise though is it?Apparently, and I personally dont think it is true, Manchester United have accepted an offer from Real Madrid for Ronaldo. This is coming from news sources in Spain.According to a well-respected national radio station Onda Cero, Real Madrid have reached a "principle of agreement" with Manchester United over Ronaldo. It is understood that Ronaldo's transfer to Santiago Bernabéu will be finalised in the next few days and will involve a fee in the region of 90 million euros. This has totally contradicted the other piece of information I have for you:Ronaldo's older sister has said that Ronaldo wants to stay at United.Speaking to The Sun, she says:"Cristiano wants to keep playing at Manchester United,""Real Madrid keep making very strong advances for him. There is a lot of speculation in the newspapers all the time about where he will go and what he is doing but we know who he re...
ManUtd and Real Madrid Set To Battle It Out Again
2008-07-02 03:26:00
Manchester United and Real Madrid have been battling it out to have Cristiano Ronaldo play for them next season and the two clubs are set to battle it out again to get the signature of Colombian striker Falcao.Sir Alex Ferguson has received glowing reports on the River Plate forward and it is thought that if United don't get Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov then they will go for Falcao.Falcao has also attacted the interest of Juventus and who else but Real Madrid. What do we know about Falcao?Falcao was born on the 10th February 1986 in Santa Marta, Magdalena, Columbia. He is 22 years oldHis full name is Radamel Falcao Garcia Zarate He is named after ex-Brazilian and Roma midfielder, FalcãoHe has scored 38 goals in 58 games for River PlateHe plays in a similar style to Carlos TevezHis nickname is El TigreSo, what do you think? Rooney could be in trouble with the gaffer
2008-06-05 15:54:00
Wayne Rooney could be in trouble with Sir Alex Ferguson after being spotted smoking. Rooney is currently on his stag party in Ibiza and he is due to get married to Coleen McLoughlin a week on saturday.Rooney was spotted in Linekar's bar (The bar is owned by Match of the Day host Gary Lineker's brother Wayne) smoking cigarettes in the VIP section and drinking Red Bull and Vodka. One England Fan who was there said:' He's supposed to be a super fit athlete so you don't expect him to be drawing on a fag and knocking back booze like this.' I would think Sir Alex would not be happy if he saw him tonight. I cannot believe he is smoking when he is supposed to be a top player. To be honest the word Chav seems to have been invented for him.'Personally I cant understand the drinking, it is his stag party so give him a break but I cannot understand the smoking, it is a diguisting habit and it wont do any good to his health and fitness. For more on this story or any other Rooney news click...
Real Madrid Or Barcelona?
2008-06-04 12:55:00
Barcelona are also interested in Cristiano Ronaldo and Madrid-based sports daily newspaper Marca claims that FC Barcelona are set to join the race for Ronaldo, so if we were to sell him, which team would you prefer to sell him to?For me I would personally prefer United to sell him to Barcelona, I honestly don't like the way Real Madrid try and sign players. I am not saying that we are whiter that white but Real Madrid need reporting.Barcelona have kept quiet about wanting to buy Ronaldo and it was Sir Alex Ferguson himself who first said that Barcelona were wanting to buy him.If Ronaldo leaves United for Real Madrid then that means that they have won and they think that they can buy any player that they want, so United if you HAVE TO sell Ronaldo then please sell him to Barcelona.Man United Devils is a blog which is updated everyday. Madrid warned now Ronaldo warned
2008-06-01 11:45:00
Real Madrid have been warned over Cristiano Ronaldo, now Cristiano himself has apparently been warned by Sir Alex. There has been much speculation over Ronaldo for the past few weeks but now Fergie has told Ronaldo that if he asks for a move to Real Madrid and he goes on strike then the Glazer's would let him rot in the reserves or in the stands. I personally can't quite see that happening, you can picture it though- the worlds best player playing in the Manchester United reserves.Fergie said: "Their attitude is 'To hell with them'. "They'd sit a player in the stand, I'm telling you, absolutely no doubt about it, just to prove a point." Recently Real Madrid's president Ramon Calderon has said: "We know they [United] aren't a selling club. It is a problem between player and team." As far as i know there isnt a problem between Manchester United and Cristiano Ronaldo. Real Madrid are stirring things up and what i would absolutly love United to do now is to report Real Madrid. Th...

Ronaldo still won't commit future to United
2008-05-25 13:23:00
There have been many rumours about Cristiano Ronaldo leaving United and moving to Real Madrid and today is no different.Ronaldo has said that his future is sorted but he is concentrating on Portugal right now. He will make an announcement on his future in two or three weeks, now i dont understand why he can't just say it now if it is all sorted. It is not fair on United fans to keep everyone waiting on his decision. Ferguson has come out and said that he is staying, if his future is sorted then Fergie will definetly know what is going on, if Fergie says he is staying then i think he is staying. When this statement comes out i think it will be about a new contract he has signed with United."What the press speculate about goes over my head," Ronaldo said. "I have already been used to it for the past two years."I am calm. Everything's clear and I will repeat it once again so that the whole world understands, there will be news in two or three weeks."At the moment I am here, I am going...
Fergie to retire
2008-05-25 13:06:00
Well we all know that Fergie will retire someday but today he has been a little bit more specific about when that will be. He has said that he will retire within three years which will take him upto 70 years old."I won't be managing here when I'm 70. No, never. I can assure you of that," Ferguson said."I won't be managing here any more than three years at the very, very, very most - no question."There is a time when you have to think about time for yourself. You know, my wife is getting older and I have to think about that."I think she deserves a bit of my time. The older you get, the more guilty you feel about it. What I would like to do in life is travel to places I have never been to."I would love to go to the States and spend about three or four months there. I will still be involved with United in some shape or form. I hope so because I have a good relationship."There is no chance of me ever being sacked. I think it will be my decision and [chief executive] David Gill is hap...

Ronaldo Saga Nearly Over?
2008-05-23 11:19:00
Hopefully next week the Ronaldo and Real Madrid saga will be over. Ronaldo has hinted that he may'be signing a new contract with United. This season Ronaldo has been magnificant for United, he has scored 42 goals and he is widely expected to be named as the World Player Of The Year.Real Madrid are thought to be putting in a bid of £100million for Ronaldo, Ferguson and Gill have said that they wont sell him but yesterday it came out that Madrid might go straight to the Glazers (the owners) and they are more likely to sell him because they are thought have put United in £800million debt.Ronaldo has spoken to the Sun and this is what he said:"My future will be clear next week. Everyone will be pleased - my club as well as me,""I think I will definitely be here next season. Yes, I want to stay. I have played five years for this club and I'd love to stay here."I love the people, the players are fantastic, the atmosphere is unbelievable, the staff are great. That is the reason I want to...
Crewe and Nantwich - Sir Alex Ferguson supports Labour.
2008-05-19 13:23:00
Just when you thought that the Labour team in Crewe and Nantwich had absolutely no policies apart from "Tory Toffs", they've come up with a beauty: putting a picture of Sir Alex Ferguson on their leaflets. Football supremo Ferguson is of course well known as a political mastermind and no doubt his endorsement of Moyra Tamsin Dunwoody will have locals voting labour in their droves. Not.
Ronaldo Staying?
2008-05-18 11:45:00
The Ronaldo saga has taken another turn today. Cristiano Ronaldo has hinted that he may be staying at United after all.It has been reported for what seems to be ages now that Real Madrid will offer United a record breaking £100million to lure Ronaldo away. Cristiano has said that he know's of Madrid's interest and that his dream is to play in Spain and that he will consider his future after the Champion's League match this wednesday.Ronaldo has said that he will stay at Old Trafford until the boss Sir Alex Ferguson decides to retire, now this could be a strong suggestion that he is staying for a few more years but the doubters are going to say that Fergie will be retiring after the Champion's League match. It has been reported that he may retire but i dont think that is going to happen for a few more years."The boss is the reason I am here in the club," Ronaldo said in the News of the World."He helped me a lot, not just this season but the seasons before."I feel very good at the...
Fergie to Retire?
2008-05-14 13:06:00
I dont think that Sir Alex Ferguson will be retiring from Manchester United anytime soon nor does former United ace Roy Keane.Keane is convinced Fergie will win the double in Moscow and he won't rest until he's toppled Liverpool's record haul of European Cups and League titles. On sunday we won the Premier League title and that took us upto 17 league titles, Liverpool have 18 league titles BUT they have never won the Premier League title, what a shame. If we win next wednesday in Moscow we will be European Champion's for the third time but Liverpool have been European Champion's five times. We arent too far behind them but we are still a much more popular, bigger and better club than Liverpool so no need to worry United fans, we will knock them of their perch soon enough!!!Keane said: "I think the manager (Ferguson) said it himself...his target was to knock Liverpool off their perch. He's done that in terms of winning Leagues but I think, don't worry, he'll be wanting to win E...
Quotes Of The Season
2008-05-12 16:12:00
Have you seen Quotes Of The Week on the BBC football pages? They have now got Quotes Of The Season. Here are the ones involving Manchester United , some of them really funny. Can you remember a funnier or different one?If you want to read all of them click hereManchester United Quotes Of The Season:"That wife of mine just bullies me, She throws me out of the door at seven o'clock every morning! So that's a definite no. Oh no, I dare not risk the wrath of that lass from the Gorbals."Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson claims that it's his wife Cathy who stops him from retiring as he wins his latest Premier League title. "It was the fifth minute of their usual seven minutes of injury time."Ferguson takes exception to Arsenal's late, late equaliser against Aston Villa. I think if we win and Arsenal and Chelsea lose, it will be a good day!"Fergie hopes for a miracle result when the Gunners visit Stamford Bridge. "It must be necessary for a player to bring a gun and shoot one of...

Steve Bruce Next United Manager
2008-05-09 19:20:00
There is much speculation that if United win the Premier League and Champion's League then the boss (Fergie) will retire. Now i will start off by saying i dont think he will retire for a few more years, he has plenty left to give. Wigan Chairman Dave Whelan had this to say:?When United come to choose a new manager, if they go for Steve Bruce you have no chance of standing in their way,? Whelan said in the Daily Star.?I wouldn?t contemplate doing so if United came for Steve. I would be delighted for him and sorry for the club.?If Sir Alex wins another European title this year - which I hope he does - he may decide he has had enough.?Now, many of ex United players have been linked with the job- Steve Bruce, Mark Hughes, Roy Keane. But why not look closer to home? I think that Queiroz should be given the chance to replace Fergie. Queiroz could also bring us some more fantastic portugese players like Ronaldo and Nani. Yes, i do include Nani as being a good player, he is young and naive...
Reaction from ManUnited v Barcelona
2008-04-30 11:40:00
Manchester United Reaction:Ferguson: "Maybe we will get more tickets against Liverpool because Roman Abramovich seems to have bought them all up,""It is great for Paul to be in the final,""It was a fantastic goal."I don't think you can expect him to score 10 or 15 goals a season like he used to but when he gets one like that it makes up for the ones he can't score.""It is a big boost for Saturday," he said."It won't do us any harm that's for sure. The energy in the team was excellent. The question is how do we get that back into them?"It was a bit nervy in the second half because Barcelona had to have a go at 1-0 down. But we got through that spell and in the last 15 minutes, I didn't think they made any chances."It was emotional at the end but you expect that at a semi-final. The important thing is that we are there and we deserve to be there."Carrick: "There was a few heart-stopping moments towards the end but we managed to get through it," Carrick told Sky Sports News."You c...
Did Fergie get it wrong?
2008-04-27 14:48:00
Most ManUtd fans that i have spoken to since yesterday are saying that Fergie got his team selection wrong but is that really the case? The team that started yesterday was:Van Der Sar, Brown, Vidic, Ferdinand, Silvestre, Fletcher,Carrick, Anderson, Nani, Giggs and Rooney. Now is this really a weak team? Yes there is not Tevez, Ronaldo and Evra but that team was perfectly capable of getting a result against Chelsea. I am nowgoing to go through every starting player and say why i think it wasnt a rubbish team.Van Der Sar is our first choice goalie, so you cannot moan about him starting.Brown has been a first choice player since Neville was injured and he is currently keeping Neville out of the side. Brown has had a fantastic season so far.Vidic has come back from a illness, he was stretchered off in the eary part of the match and replaced by Hargreaves. He was in the staring line up, Vidic and Ferdinand have been for me the best central partnership this season in the Premier LeagueFerd...
Champions League: Can Man U & Barcelona Hold On?
2008-04-09 17:16:00
Manchester United & Barcelona both head into their 2nd leg quarterfinal matches today with a lead. Both are at home today. Can they both hang on to join Chelsea & Liverpool in the semifinals? I would say the chances are pretty good, especially for Man U. The Red Devils will play host to Roma today with ...

Reaction's From Villa Match
2008-03-30 13:12:00
Sir Alex Ferguson:"I think we showed fantastic energy,""That's very pleasing, considering some of the players had been away for internationals and the pitch was very heavy.""I said last week the players had reached a peak(the 3-0 win over Liverpool) and that continued today,""I think the players realise now it?s a race to the line and we need consistency, we need real focus. They want to play at their very best. There?s good evidence of that in the last two games. Being at home is always an advantage of course but we?ve played against two very good sides so these (last two games) are good omens for us.""We don?t feel that close (to the title) with six games left. We wish it was only one. Nonetheless I think there?s great confidence in the way the team is playing and that?s always good at this time of year."Cristiano RonaldoAfter the thrashing of Villa, Ronaldo has admitted that he is obsessed with being the best footballer in the world:"The focus is on winning the Champions League ...
Simpson loaned out
2008-03-21 23:31:00
United youngster Danny Simpson has been loaned out to Ipswich for the rest of the season. Simpson is 21 years old and he is seen as the next Gary Neville. This move shows that Fergie is confident with his squad and the players he has available. Both Silvestre and Neville played in the 4-1 win reserve match against City. Simpson has played a part in eight matches for United this season but with the captain getting closer to a first team return, Fergie thinks it is best for Simpson, i agree, do you?"It is good for the lad," said Sir Alex Ferguson. "The boy needs games and I have allowed him to go to Ipswich Town until the end of the season. They are a good football team and that will suit him fine."Man United Devils is a blog which is updated everyday. "I enjoyed the happiest and most memorable times of my career at Old Trafford and it will be great to play a role in making the club even more successful."Sir Alex Ferguson is also pleased that Robbo has returned:"Bryan Robson was the outstanding player of his generation," United chief executive David Gill added. Fulham vs Man U: Make or Break
2008-02-29 14:41:00
Granted, from this point forward, just about all of Fulham’s matches are what I would consider “must win” situations. Fergie: Chelsea are still in the title race
2008-02-29 13:45:00
United's manager Sir Alex Ferguson has said that Chelsea are still in contention for winning the title in may. All the talk has been about Arsenal and Manchester United but Chelsea have been creeping back into the title race. Arsenal are currently still on top of the Premier League with United 3 points behind them and Chelsea are 6 points behind us, but with one game in hand. Fergie has also said that Goal Difference could make a big difference in the title race this season, Arsenal currently have a goal difference of +36, United have a goal difference of +40 and Chelsea have a goal difference of +21. "The number of points Chelsea are behind Arsenal is not insurmountable," Sir Alex told the League Managers' Association website. "The fact that they have got us and Arsenal at home, and their home record is so good, you would have to think they have still got a big chance in the Premier League." This weeks matches see the top three all kick of at 15:00. The games are Arsenal v Ast...
Fergie unsurprised
2008-02-18 18:07:00
Sir Alex Ferguson has said that he is unsurprised by United drawing yet another Premier League team, i wasnt surprised and many other United fans werent because it is starting to feel like the norm now.United played Pompey in the fourth round of last seasons FA Cup and we came out 2-1 winners with Rooney scoring twice.Fergis said:"It's a home draw, so it doesn't matter who you get. But it's typical that we have another Premier League team!" Sir Alex told ManUtd.com. "The good thing about the FA Cup, though, is that the opposition bring an increased number of supporters, which makes for a great atmosphere."We've had two great home ties against Spurs and Arsenal in the previous rounds, and hopefully we'll have another one against Portsmouth."I think that we have a good chance of beating Pompey especially if we play the way we did this season at Old Trafford. So what do you think, will we win?For the latest United stats, news, gossip, information, Premier League table and much mo...

was this alex ferguson’s rude gesture towards the reading bench/fans?
2008-01-20 03:06:00
This is just a quick post on a most bizaare thing. I've just seen this weeks Match Of The Day from the BBC, and caught what I thought to be a very rude gesture from Alex Ferguson towards what looked like either the Reading bench or fans, just after the second goal went in. Is Fergie beginning to crack under some kind of, as yet undefined pressure? I searched high and low on t'internet, and the only reference I could find regarding this was on ...

That’s anyone but United. It’s the simple notion that the neutral football fan automatically pulls for an opponent ...
