The firm is setting out to implement RFID at the item-level, meaning that tags will eventually hit each article of clothing it produces. For starters, the advanced inventory system will be rolled out across each of its 17 metro New York locations, while plans are already in place to deploy the solution to another 120 North American outlets. The idea is to track individual pieces as they're "tagged at the company's manufacturing facility in Los Angeles, received in its retail stores, stored in the stock rooms at the stores, and then placed onto the sales floor and ultimately sold at the point-of-sale." Review: American Apparel Skirt & More
2008-03-17 23:35:00 I told you I needed this Jerome Dreyfuss bag! After obsessing about it for 48 hours, I went ahead and ordered it from Active Endeavors last week and it arrived today. I haven't actually carried it outside yet, but I've loaded it up with all my stuff, and so far, I love it. The leather is the SOFTEST textured leather I've owned, and the bag itself is incredibly light; I'm actually surprised by how light it is. The only thing I'll have to get used to is the flap over the top of the bag. It closes only with a leather strap through two d-rings (which I will probably never use), but stays in place very well. I'm just not used to "closed" bags anymore! But I have a feeling I'll manage. The skirt is by American Apparel. I was intrigued by the high-waist, and thought I could try to work with it. I ordered the XL (because I have found that AA runs pretty small, for my hips anyway) and washed and dried it on HOT so it would shrink a bi...

Threadless Says Goodbye to American Apparel, Fruit of the Loom
2008-02-20 17:03:00 On yesterday's newsletter, Threadless announces that it will print all new winning designs on its own brand T-shirt garment instead of using brands like the usual American Apparel (AA) and Fruit of the Loom (FotL). This maybe sad news for those who already feel comfortable with AA or FotL T-shirts -- although Threadless own custom prints it's not that bad either; it has softer feel and decent durability (I've bought one myself) What important though is having its own tee will hopefully give Threadless better control over stocks. My only bad experience shopping on Threadless was when I want to buy a not-so-oldie tee shirt but often, they're already sold out and ask for reprint instead. And that's so frustrating. In long term, it's a worth a good investment too I believe especially as the company grow bigger.
