1KW Mosfet FM Amplifier Service and Operating Manual
2008-07-01 18:08:00
High gain MOSFET transistors and systematic use of state-of-the-art manufacturing methods, have helped us to find effective solutions for the design of this new equipment. The amplifier, of simple and rugged construction, is able to satisfy the requests of all those end-users looking for top-quality equipment at reasonable prices. The RF power input is divided by 4 by means of a power splitter and is then connected to 4 x BLF278 MOSFETs.The power amplifier is lightweight with broad-band characteristics over the entire VHF FM range. The compact design and the internal configuration of the modules, allow excellent access to all components. All the power components are generously over-rated to ensure excellent reliability. The cooling system of the equipment makes possible to keep all components which dissipate heat, at low temperature figures, thus permitting reliability and very high MTBF.1 KW Power Amplifier Module The input power of the module is connected to a Wilkinson splitter, ...
A Video Amplifier For Satellite Receivers
2008-06-03 07:37:00
Almost all receivers have a built-in level controls which are adjusted by their manufacturer to give the correct output level for a standard satellite input signal. In some cases this control can be advanced far enough to lift ATV signals to the same output level but most receivers will need this design adding to assist them. There is a penalty to pay for winding an amplifiers gain up, given that the gain x bandwidth is a constant, the bandwidth is proportionately narrowed which results in poorer picture quality. Adding extra gain, such as this device does, will always be a better solution.By using a split and isolated supply, the input and output capacitors normally used in this kind of amplifier are eliminated. Bandwidth goes from DC up to more than 10MHz.The PCB is small enough to fit upright inside most satellite receivers. Connect "A" to the old video output point and use "C" or "D" as the new output point. The two outputs can be loaded simultaneously. VR1 sets the...

Car Stereo Amplifier Installation Basics By Chris H.
2008-05-15 04:46:00
A car stereo amplifier is a necessity if you take your car audio seriously. A car stereo amplifier is what helps determine the type of audio output your stereo will produce. If you have never experienced what a car amplifier can do, you will be blown away at the quality of sound that can be achieved. In fact, once you hear your favorite music played with the power of an amp, you will be instantly hooked. When you decide to purchase a car amplifier, one of your first decisions will be where to place it in your vehicle. You have several options but keep in mind an area where the amplifier will have the best air circulation. Common areas to install the amplifier include the trunk or under a seat. Also remember that the amplifier needs to be grounded so a metal surface to attach it to is key. Most people will have professionals install their car amps. If you are a do-it-yourselfer, the next step is deciding how to connect the amplifier to your car stereo. RCA cables are the common cable t...
Low Power RF Amplifier for 88-108 MHz
2008-05-11 20:46:00
This application use a common NPN RF transistor called 2SC1970. You can also use other transistors like 2N4427 and some others. Check datasheets to se how much power the transistor can handle. 2SC1970 will handle 1.3W and 2SC1971 up to 6W. Most transistor has a power gain of 10dB meaning 10 times power amplification. This is the reason why you must use several stages to achieve a strong transmitter. In this construction we are getting higher power then ever and you must be careful with the transistor. A 50 ohm dummy load MUST be used while testing, else the final transistor will break. An antenna can be used but the antenna must be properly made else the transistor will break.Hardware and SchematicIn all RF system and specially in RF amplifiers, it is very important to have a stable power supply and making sure you won't get any RF out on the power line. The Capacitor C12 and C13 will stabilise the DC power supply. L1, C10, C11 and L3 with C8, C9 will also prevent RF from leaking o...

Audio Video Distribution Amplifier
2008-04-21 00:28:00
With the amount of equipment in home entertainment centers today the need to be able to vary the gain of the audio or video signal is needed. I found this particular circuit helpful when used in conjunction with the Universal Descrambler and a Stabilizer circuit I built for making copies of video tapes. It not only allowed me the ability to fine tune the video strength it also helped me increase the recorded audio which typically becomes poor when making tape copies. This circuit is an audio video distribution amplifier that splits to other channel for audio and video. Circuit operation is straight forward for amplifier circuits. The second channel for the audio amplifier is made up of the same components except the other half of IC1 is used. Pin 6 & 5 are inputs and 7 is the output.

1W Linear Power Amplifier 2.4 GHz
2008-03-12 22:54:00
The following single-stage transistor linear amplifier possesses a gain of approximately 7 dB and an output power of 1 W in the 13 cm band (approx. 2.4 GHz). It is thus suitable for use, for instance, together with the 13 cm transmit converter. This hybrid power mixer equipped with a varactor diode type BXY. This mean that the described power amplifier can provide linear output power in the order of 1 W.CIRCUIT DESCRIPTIONA transistor type F1E6 manufactured by CTC is used. In this case of this transistor, the emitter is internally connected to the cooling bolt. This ensures that there are no problems with respect to the high-frequency grounding of the emitter. The circuit diagram of this amplifier is given in figure 1. The matching of the transistor input and ouput impedance to 50 Ohm is made using standard method in (2) The circuit for adjusting and stabilizing the DC-operating point is similar to the method described in (3)CONSTRUCTIONDouble coated, epoxy glassfibre material is...

470 - 860 MHz Wideband Amplifier Construction
2008-02-09 15:51:00
INTRODUCTION In the application report NCO8101 two amplifiers for band 4/5 with BLV57 transistors have been described. Reactions on this report proved the necessity to give more information about the construction of these amplifiers. This construction has been based on a heatsink with a printed-circuit board at the upper side and the bias circuits and a forced air-cooling at the lower side. (download datasheet)PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD In the printed-circuit board rectangular holes have been made to mount the BLV57 transistors on the heatsink. For fastening of the printed-circuit board on the heatsink by means of screws, 7 holes of 3.1 mm Æ and for fastening of the hybrid couplers 8 holes of 2.6 mm Æ have been made on the indicated places (see Figs 1 and 2). Hereby has been taken into account the use of Anaren hybrid couplers, type 10264 - 3, suited for the frequency range of 500 - 1000 MHz. Because the 2 bias units have been situated at the lower side of the heatsink, the connections ...

Protector Circuit For RF Amplifier
2008-02-05 15:23:00
This circuit protector is so simple, but it has big function in protecting your rf amplifier device. The input part signals for protecting are :Termo Switch (Heat Sensor Resistance) from your active component, RF Power transistor/FET.Forward and Reflect (reverse) from your directional coupler after your Low Pass Filter Output.Over Drive from directional coupler at the input of your rf amplifier to limit power input in normal condition.Relay (12v DC) for disconnecting power supply of your RF amplifier if condition for protecting happened. Note :Do it manually before you install it in real condition. Don't forget to adjust 50K resistor for every input parts.
