Week Eleven Fantasy Football WRs - Andre Johnson
2007-11-18 02:22:00 With just three weeks to go, my team, Orlovsky's O, is tied with three other teams at 6-4. I am third amongst this four-way tie in total points scored. Unfortuantely, this 12-team league has three divisions, and the teams who win the division make the play-offs with just one wild card. We three highest scoring teams are all battling for that wildcard! With such a close race in the tie-breaker category (points scored) and the demise of the bye week season, fantasy football is getting down to the nitty gritty. This week I have the choice of all my WRs. The most important one is Houston Texan Andre Johnson. KC Joyner did not grade him this week, so I took the liberty of assuming he comes back at full strength and plugged his grade from Week Two into the calculations. Going up against one of the worst starting DBs, Jason David of New Orleans, has Johnson scoring the best Adv grade. I am leaning towards starting him and Torry Holt. (Full Strength at last!) The question is whether I use ...

Week Nine Fantasy Football WRs - Andre Johnson
2007-11-03 20:23:00 My WR options are more limited than the ones I had last week thanks to byes for Torry Holt and Muhsin Muhammad. I am considering Texans' WR Andre Johnson as out for this week because reports have his coach saying he's ready to go, but Johnson's "people" say he shouldn't play. Who does Johnson listen to? I'm not gambling that he will not have "his people" at the back of his mind even if he suits-up. Throw-in a tough Raiders' secondary, and I do not see Johnson as a part of my start/sit decisions. From ESPN's Len Pasquarelli:Houston star wide receiver Andre Johnson, who has missed the last six games with strained knee ligaments, is about 85 percent recovered, he assessed this week. But the two-time Pro Bowl performer, who was off to a marvelous start, with 14 catches, 262 yards and three touchdowns in the first two games of the year, is probably still at least a week away from returning. I use the grades assigned by KC Joyner, The Football Scientist, to get the grades for the W...

Andre Johnson OUT
2007-09-20 23:43:00 Houston Texans #1 Wide Receiver Andre Johnson has been ruled out of the next game against Indianapolis. He is recovering from a sprained knee. When asked if there was a possibility if he would play at all Johnson said "No. I mean as it looks right now, you look at me right now, no I wouldn't be out there on Sunday."This is tough for Andre Johnson owners (like me) and people who are trying to get value out of Matt Schaub right now.
Andre Johnson
2007-07-26 22:20:00 This season Texans' WR Andre Johnson is welcoming a new quarterback in Matt Schaub and a new starting running back in Ahman Green. That sounds like two negatives, but it might be the change needed to propel Johnson into the ranks of the Top Five fantasy wide receivers. Johnson finished last season with 1147 receiving yards and five touchdowns, a good year but by no means a great year. Although he went over 100 receiving yards in four of the first six games, he disappeared late in the season, finishing with only 19 catches for 165 yards over the final five games. Now the untested Matt Schaub replaces the too-well-tested David Carr at quarterback. If Schaub lives up to the price the Texans paid for him, he should be at least as good, and probably much better, than David Carr. Last season fantasy players drooled at the possibility that Head Coach (and former NFL QB) Gary Kubiak could bring forth greatness from the battered shell of David Carr. &nb...
