There are great reporters working for the BBC but the editors seldom allow material such as this, Israel wants the BBC closed down. The article explains well, the mentality behind massacres at Mai Lai in the Vietnam war and the Haditha massacre, after the Iraq invasion. Strangely the first massacre created an outcry worldide, at that time, today the American media couldn't care less, about covering their war crimes or be bothered to cover the massacres, in Iraq properly. 2007-07-20 02:46:00 B. and I celebrated our ninth year anniversary July 11....well, when I say celebrated it's not exactly true. Oh yes, there were cards and smoochies, but he left flowers in the car that night not expecting temperatures in the high 80s by six o'clock in the morning. He woke me up with a bunch of pretty but yet wilted flowers, that was comical and it reminded of the way I felt on my wedding day...wilting and melting back in 1998 under the hot sun of Charleston. I am surprised that nobody back then tried to dissuade me from a July wedding. What was I thinking? Well, I had no idea it was going to be over 100F that day, much like our anniversary day last week.Anyway, back to our celebration. We both worked late night so we decided to stay home, grill some seafood, drink some Champagne and relax on the porch. We were so tired that we barely drank one glass each and crashed into bed. 2007-05-25 19:45:00 Several notable anniversaries are occurring over the next eight days. I could write a lot more about each of these items but will just briefly note each event. Today is the 30th anniversary of the opening of Star Wars, which basically started the era of the special effects blockbusters in movies, as well as rewriting the box office records; it's still one of my all-time favorite movies. Tomorrow is the 100th anniversary of the birth of John Wayne, who appeared in nearly 200 films in a 50-year career and won a Best Actor Oscar for True Grit. Sunday is the 100th anniversary of the birth of Rachel Carson, the author of Silent Spring who many credit for strarting the global environmental movement. Next Friday is the 40th anniversary of the release of the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, an album which introduced the idea of the concept album to popular music.

2007-05-12 16:33:00 Today is the 7th anniversary of my first date with Andy. Well, maybe it is. About 8 months into our relationship we realized that neither of us knew the exact date of our first date. We ended-up settling on May the 12th because we knew it was sometime in mid-May and we figured the 12th was close enough for government work.This was the same day that we chose 'our' song. After much deliberation on the matter we finally decided to put the 6-CD changer (this was back before the invention of the iPod) on 'random' and the first song it played would be our song. As it happened the CD player chose "Electric Head Part II" by White Zombie.
