2008-04-24 04:10:00 Couple note worthy items (not worthy of individual posts): The Minnesota Vikings have officially acquired Kansas City Chiefs drunk DE Jared Allen. The Bounty: (1) 1st Round Pick, (2) Third Round Picks, and a swap of 6th round picks (which moves the Chiefs up 5 slots, they traded the pick they received from the Bucs for RB Michael Bennett, hmm). The Vikes locked up Allen with a 6 year 74 million dollar deal... I'm definitely not sad to see the Bucs lose out on Jared Allen (if you can call it that). This leaves the door wide open for a Julius Peppers signing next off-season and Allen is one drink away from a train wreck. His thoughts: When the majority of Fans look at the Redskins team roster, the roster which all 22 starters are returning, most say the need is for a large WR. It appears based on another report today the Redskins are exploring options with other NFL teams. "other" NFL teams because we took a stab at getting Chad Johnson from the Bengals, unsuccessfully. The emerging picture is one where the team is committed to getting a proven wide receiver in free agency and isn't afraid to shop around to do so. The question is whether they can get the guy they want before the upcoming draft? Time is running out, and surely if we need a WR before the draft (but can't get one) we'll need one during, which would have a profound impact on how and who we select this weekend. He's turning heads left and right all throughout training camp thus far.The Wisconsin daily newspapers got on board today with feature articles on Jones."But the Packers saw in his 70 catches in his final season at San Jose State a player similar to Arizona's Anquan Boldin," writes Pete Dougherty of the Green Bay Press-Gazette.
