If a guy is well below the .290-.300 range one year, I expect his BABIP to regress the next. That means his WHIP and ERA both go up. There are definitely factors at play determining BABIP beyond just luck - deception, a great curveball or knuckler, the defense behind the pitcher. But I still think guys with ridiculously low BABIPs should expect regression. A bunch of closers had super-low BABIPs in 2007: Rafael Soriano - .198J.J. Putz - .201Takashi Saito - .207Jason Isringhausen - .215Jonathan Papelbon - .216 Of this group, only Papelbon was in this range in '06. All five should see their WHIPs rise, all things being equal. However, the goal of having 1 million is just so far away. I have been saving much money this past year, but I?m losing motivation right now. Over the weekend, my fiancé and I went to see a possible place for our ceremony (a cruise). The bottom line is that it will cost us $15,000 for about 100 people. On top of that, we will be visiting my sister?s wedding overseas (around $3000 for 2 tickets + hotel). This is a big chunk of change I will need to spend in September.Early next year, we will be visiting my fiancé?s parents in Taiwan, which will again cost around the same $3000.Later that afternoon, we went to look at houses. We live in California, and as many of you know, houses here cost around $600k-$700k.
