Bush won’t visit grave of Arafat
2008-01-01 19:18:00 Word from the Jerusalem Post just now : Palestinian Authority officials on Monday expressed deep disappointment after learning that US President George W. Bush, who is expected to visit Ramallah soon, does not intend to lay a wreath at Yasser Arafat’s tomb. Well, that’s good, for two reasons. First of all, the possibility of an attack is extraordinarily high. Second because as a terrorist, Arafat deserves no such honor as a visit from the President of the United States… unless to urinate on the monster’s grave. Bush is showing good sense, here. Arafat and National Day
2007-12-18 17:11:00 Today is both Arafat day and Qatar's National day.The name Arafat is taken from the mountain of Arafat in Saudi Arabia. It's an important day for Muslims, as this is the day when Mohammed gave his farewell sermon the last year of his life. Many Muslims in Qatar will be fasting, although unlike Ramadan the fasting is recommended rather than obligatory.Muslim on the Hajj in Saudi Arabia, meanwhile, will spend the whole day on the plan of Arafat, praying for God's forgiveness.Meanwhile, Qatar is celebrating, for the first time, its national day, which celebrates the accession of Sheikh Abdullah Jassim Al Thani in 1878.Sheikh Jassim's father was still alive when he handed over power to his son, although he wasn't very happy when his son invited the Ottoman's into the country. However, Sheikh Jassim made up for it later by defeating the Ottoman's in battle. (See the Rise of the Qatar Ruling Family for more details.)Tomorrow is another even more important day, for it is the start of...

Hajj Diary and Reports from Mecca, Arafat and Medina
2007-12-17 18:49:00 # From Mecca this is how Ashraf Khalil has started his hajj blog, "I had hoped to kick off what will be several weeks of blog posts from the midst of the Hajj with something elegant about universal faith and the wonder of millions of pilgrims gathering for a common spiritual purpose." He is posting pretty much daily from Medina and now from Mecca with amateur videos, photos and interesting observations. [>] read L.A. Times Reporter Ashraf Khalil's Hajj Blog# Guardian Interactive: one woman's Hajj experience | Riazat Butt in Mecca# "Walking inside the Haram and outside is an education in flags, nationalities and cultures ? many of us did not realise there were Muslims in Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan or Myanmar. There are literally thousands of pilgrims from Africa, thousands upon thousands from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh. The biggest presence seems to be from Turkey and from Iran: we are surprised by the vast number of Shia pilgrims that are here.It was heart-warming to feel connected a...

The Day of Arafat - 19 December
2007-11-23 10:32:00 The Day of Arafat is a significant Islamic Holy Day, in which it is said that the religion had been perfected. It is the final day of the Hajj pilgrimage and the day before the Eid ul-Adha holiday (Festival of the Sacrifice). It is also called the Day of Repentance. At dawn on this day, millions of Muslim pilgrims will make their way from Mecca to the nearby hillside and plain called Mount Arafat and the Plain of Arafat. It was from this site that Muhammad gave his famous Farewell Sermon in his final year of life. The Day of Arafat is doubtless the most unified day of any Muslim event. Imagine Muslims gathered together at Arafat Mountain in unity, praying and fasting and stoning the devil whom they say tried to stop their father Abraham from offering Ishmael and offer Isaac instead. You see, Muslims declare that Ishmael is the son of the promise, not Isaac. Muslims offer sacrifices in remembrance that Abraham offered Ishmael as a sacrifice for their sins! (Those who complete the Haj...

Hamas Fires On Arafat Memorial Service In Gaza
2007-11-12 23:24:00 Thousands of people gathered on Monday in a Gaza square to remember their fallen leader Yasser Arafat. It was the first major opposition rally allowed by Hamas which seized Gaza from the Fatah several months ago, but Hamas leaders feared forbidding the gathering would antagonize the Gaza population. As people listened to speeches, gunfire suddenly sounded and within a few moments six lay dead while dozens were wounded. People fled for their lives as guns sounded in the air. Fatah spokesperson, Mohammed Dahlan asserted the firing began when people from a nearby Islamic university entered the square, but Hamas claims Fatah began the firing. The Fatah leadership in Gaza believed the huge mass of people was an expression by the Gaza population that it disagrees with the Hamas seizure of power. This incident is further evidence of a deep seated fissure between Hamas and Fatah which currently makes difficult reaching an agreement with Israel. This makes even more important the necessity...

Suha Arafat's new villa !!
2007-10-24 12:20:00 Suha Arafat , the merry widow of Yasser Arafat and the mother of his only daughter Zahwa is making the headlines again this week after the strange surprising news that El-Gaddafi of Libya bought a very fancy villa for her and her daughter in Malta for one million Euro !!! It is very surprising for many reasons ,number one I do not think that Suha needs any financial help from anyone , I mean with all the billions she got from the money of the Palestinian people she still needs a financial aid !!! Number two was not El-Gaddafi an enemy to Arafat !!?? Yes I know the man is so moody you just can't remember to whom he was a friend or enemy to anyone anymore yet why that sudden generosity all of the sudden and why it did not included the poor people in Gaza !!??? If you do not know Suha Arafat was expelled from Tunisia after years from staying there ,reasons ranged from personal to business , the personal reasons which are personal rumors said that she married in Secret fr...
How Far We’ve Come Since Giuliani had Arafat Escorted from Lincoln Center
2007-09-20 15:40:00 Not new news as of today, but speaks to the ridiculousness of some politicians, in this instance the role of “path to peace runs through Damascus” is played by Mayor of NYC, Michael Bloomberg rather than Pelosi: “In a move that has stunned New York, the Bloomberg administration is in discussions to escort the Iranian president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, to ground zero during his visit to New York next week.” Ahmadinejad requests a visit to Ground Zero to lay a wreath at the location in a gesture of peace while on a visit to speak at the UN prior to the possibility of further sanctions being laid like a wreath at his feet. Some reactions from a couple of Presidential candidates, heard by now: "Can you imagine the audacity, the shocking nerve, the chutzpah to suggest he would visit ground zero, the handiwork of terrorists of the very kind he supports?" - Romney "This is a man who has made threats against America and Israel, is harboring bin Laden's son and othe...
PFLP Leader: ‘Arafat Died of AIDS’
2007-07-12 16:31:00 Here’s Ahmad Jibril, Secretary-General of the PFLP General Command, on Hizballah’s Al-Manar TV, publicly admitting the truth about Yasser Arafat’s death for the first time. (Courtesy of MEMRI TV.) [Video] Ahmad Jibril: When Abu Mazen came to Damascus with his team, I asked them: “What happened to the investigation into the death of Abu Ammar [Arafat]? The Israelis killed him. He was my colleague ever since 1965 and used to sleep at my home. He and I followed the same path.” Is it conceivable that when Rafiq Al-Hariri was killed, all hell broke loose, even though he was just a merchant in Saudi Arabia, who later entered politics, whereas the death of Yasser Arafat, who for 40 years had been carrying his gun from one place to another, is not investigate? Is this conceivable? They were silent, and then one of them said to me: “To be honest, the French gave us the medical report, that stated that the cause of Abu Ammar’s death was AIDS.” I...

Boston Globe blames Israel for civil war in Gaza, praises Arafat
2007-06-14 22:49:00 Amazing, this just makes me sick. The MSM is PATHETIC Instapundit: IF THE ISRAELIS HAD DONE THIS KIND OF THING (executing Fatah members in the street) IN GAZA, there would have been a worldwide outcry. There might also have been more of a chance for peace. Certainly it would have been hard for things to ...

US State Dept. finally admits that Arafat murdered American
2007-01-01 15:54:01 It's awfully late, but I suppose it's better late than never. WorldNetDaily has a report on the PLO's murder of American officials that's well worth reading:WASHINGTON ? After 33 years of secrecy, the U.S. State Department has finally declassified a document admitting it knew the late Yasser Arafat, chairman of the Palestine Liberation Organization, plotted and supervised the murders of two U.S. diplomats in Sudan in 1973, a cover-up first exposed by WND in January 2001.The document, released earlier this year, with no fanfare, makes it clear the Khartoum operation "was planned and carried out with the full knowledge and personal approval" of Arafat, a frequent visitor to the White House throughout the 1990s who died in 2004.In the attack March 1, 1973, eight members of the Black September terrorist organization, part of Arafat's Fatah faction of the PLO, stormed the Saudi embassy in Khartoum on Arafat's orders, taking U.S. Ambassador Cleo Noel, diplomat Charge d'Affaires Geo...
