David Edery: Yeah, it's a steady progress. We've been listening to our partners, listening to our customers to try and get a feel for what's right. We don't want the size limit to hit the roof because we think there's some value in promoting small pick and play experiences that don't cost USD 20 million, it's good for the ecosystem. Since these arcade game machines are not available in my country, I can't give you any recommendation. However, according to ChipChick each machine consist of 102 games and is sold at $5,000. Though it's quite expensive, I really like the product design. They have 4 models, ranging from tabletop, wall display, or standard height arcade game. One other thing, they can play music too.

Most of which have so far been less than fun, but guess what, a Canadian group of developers is about to release a new game onto not the store shelves, but Xbox Live ARCADE. The game is War World and this may be one of the most breathtaking Xbox Live Arcade games to date, and from initial reviews the gameplay is quite breathtaking with only small slowdowns which the team has promised to be fixing between now and the day it's released. No price yet has been announced but I'd expect a price of around $15 which in reality for a game of this quality I'm more than happy to pay or perhaps even a bit more considering it allows for 8 player online play, and offline allows for single player against up to 15 bots simultaneously. 2007-07-19 17:18:00 I remember this game fondly. One of the most amusing items I'd seen years ago, that takes its cue from a few of Asterix's and Obelix's comic book adventures. The recording here just shows the first two stages played as well as the bonus stage, but it's pretty good. The final stage in the game is pretty hard, and while it's possible to fell the two bosses featured in the Roman arena with the spinning uppercut, it can still be pretty tricky. But it's still a fun game, and I'm glad Konami made it years ago.

2007-06-29 15:36:00 The guy that crerated the bit of code that allows me to bring you the high score enabled arcade games is looking for people to "beta" test a new version. I've offered to help him out, so over the next week or so I will be playing around with the games. If everything goes to plan none of the existing high scores will be lost, but I can't guarantee anything. I'm hoping that the upgrade will allow me to exclude guest users from the high score lists. I'm also hoping it will allow me to add more games and create tournaments where I can reset the high scores every say month, but still keep the overall high scores.

2007-06-21 09:40:00 Ah, now here's an amusing game I remember from when I was a teen, based on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which became an overnight success when Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird's comic first appeared in 1984, and went on to acquire many great merchandise items, like this one!Konami first made a game based on the TMNT back in 1987, but that was for home systems. This game was made when, during 1989-92, they took to making quite a few games based on licensed products, and it was a success. Some of the things you need to try and be careful of here include falling momentarily into manholes, though this does have a funny comment to accompany it: "who put the lights out?"The recording I found had been uploaded in fast-forwarded format, but at least it does still feature plenty of great stuff, including the Ninja Turtles on skateboards!
