2007-12-19 19:35:00 The skies were leaden grey, a cold wind swept across the hills and snow flurries fell on a moving scene in Arlington, Virginia on Saturday. Precisely at noon, more than 2,000 volunteers began laying 10,000 Christmas wreaths at the gravesites of servicemen from all branches of the military in Section 33 - an older, less visited section - of Arlington National Cemetery. 2006-11-10 21:21:02 In Washington, DC this week finishing the setup of our new DC classroom. Since I am staying in Crystal City and Arlington National Cemetery is on the way, I decided to stop by and see JFK’s gravesite and the Tomb of the unknowns or my way back to the hotel this afternoon. I did not realize how massive this cemetery is. I think this was a great time to visit; the fall foliage was beautiful, it was a very solemn experience. |
