Arthur Blank And Michael Vick Have Been Keeping In Touch From Prison
2008-04-03 04:12:00 This was somewhat of a shocker to me. Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur blank revealed that he and Michael Vick have exchanged a few letters since the star quarterback entered federal prison late in 2007. Despite his horrible reputation in the mainstream media, Vick is beloved by a good portion of Falcon fans and the black ...

Heckert Loses Atlanta GM Job
2008-01-13 04:16:00 Current Eagles’ General Manager Tom Heckert was at one time the front runner for the Atlanta Falcons vacant GM position, but he did not get the job. The Falcons instead hired the Patriots’ scouting director Tom Dimitroff. Heckert will most likely stick around in Philadelphia for at least another season. He may explore more options in ...
Falcons Focus On Tom Heckert
2008-01-03 03:19:00 Falcons owner Arthur Blank was unable to land Bill Parcels to run his franchise, and has now turned to Eagles General Manager Tom Heckert according to Adam Schefter of NFL.com. Heckert has been an integral part of the Eagles front office for the past seven years, and has brought in many great players to Philadelphia. In ...
Falcons Press Conference On Bobby Petrino's Departure - NFL Network Today
2007-12-12 20:28:00 I'm watching the Atlanta Falcons Press Conference right now on The NFL Network. It features two speakers, Falcons GM Rich McKay and Falcons Owner Arthur Blank, and the mood is at best somber. What's stood out is that the Falcons were misled not just by Bobby Petrino but by Arkansas Athletic Director Jeff Long. It's also very obvious from the discussion that Petrino could not communicate well with the players, and -- I'll say this -- may have had a hard time adjusting to the modern pro Black athlete.Whereas in college a coach has a lot of power and is dealing with kids, in the NFL a coach is called by his first name, and can't throw a man off the team for misbehavior. But what's most obvious is that many in the Falcons organization were lied to and thrown into a huge organizational tailspin. The people most negative impacted are the assistant coaches, one of which who's already left. They are in the position of having to worry about their futures anew.Nice job Bobby.
The Idiot File: Falcons' Owner, Arthur Blank
2007-12-12 00:29:00 You know what, this guy came off as a moralist, and someone who was obviously wronged after showing faith in Michael Vick. Now, he might have shown who he truly is...This is sick, and makes me wonder as much as society has changed -- has it?The words of Arthur Blank on Monday Night Football and the possibility of his return to the NFL...And to think, SOME PEOPLE felt sorry for you...I have no idea if he was stressed out, joking, or just wanted to say what was on his mind, but as a CEO of a major company, and a public figure in a city with a high and affluent minority population, Blank should have used more tact with his words.I have only heard good things about Arthur Blank, but what he said, as a minority was out of line - joke or not.

Video: Arthur Blank Wants Michael Vick To Lay Off The Fried Chicken
2007-12-11 04:17:00 Here’s something that made me laugh while watching Monday Night Football. Tony Kornheiser questioned team owner Arthur Blank about Michael Vick’s possible return to the team in 2009. Of all the things I expected Blank to say “not eating fried chicken, and fries” was not on the list (in relation to vick staying in shape). I ...

Arthur Blank teaches us all a lesson in strength of character
2007-07-25 10:25:00 Just about everything Arthur M. Blank touches turns to gold, or rather, orange. He is a man who believes in strong employee-management relations, and that by investing in his people, he is present and accountable for the community. He is a man of strong convictions and morals. The co-founder of the home improvement chain, Home Depot, ...
Quotes from the Atlanta Falcons Press Conference [J. Mark English]
2007-07-25 04:33:00 Its been one of those days where press conferences are making bigger headlines then what is happening on the field. Today the Atlanta Falcons held a press conference making it official that Michael Vick shall be suspended. Here are some highlights of what the team had to say:"This has been a difficult week in every respect that you can think of. The indictment of Michael Vick has affected everyone associated with the Falcons, the National Football League, our players, our coaches, our associates, our sponsors, our season ticket holders, our fans, the Atlanta community and you in this room. But, it's also gone beyond our partners. The details of the indictment have touched the emotions of people across the country. We have heard from many of them. I know that many people are deeply distraught about what they read in the indictment, and I am as well." - Arthur Blank, team owner"Every year, you are going to deal with controversy and adversity. Certainly, we've had our share so far....

Falcons News Conference On The Michael Vick Issue
2007-07-24 22:57:00 I'm watching Atlanta Falcons' Owner Arthur Blank, General Managr Rich McKay, and Head Coach Bobby Petrino talk to the media about the Michael Vick issue. If you've not followed this, Vick's indicted for being involved in felony dogfighting. This press conference is for the Falcons; heads to explain to the public how they're dealing with this. To me, it seems as if Arthur Blank's forced to walk a tightrope between supporting Vick and not upsetting the activitist animal rights organizations that have been crawling all over them. More soon..
Michael Vick, Rich McKay, and Arthur Blank are Shady Characters
2007-07-21 20:52:00 What should Mike Vick of the Atlanta Falcons get punished with? He has been tied to dogfighting and he has federal charges that are pending on him now. The state of Virginia might also take action and file local charges against the star-quarterback of the Atlanta Falcons. Arthur Blank has been a bit surprising with his ...
Atlanta Falcons Owner Arthur Blank's Firing Of Jim Mora, Jr.
2007-01-02 21:47:01 Atlanta Falcons Owner Arthur Blank's New Year's Day firing of Head Coach Jim Mora, Jr. was not a good business decision. The simple reason is that his record not just of 26-22 will be hard to top but his record of winning the NFC South division and his development of Quarterback Michael Vick as well. The problems the junior Mora had were very fixable. The real focus should be on the defense, but the media's fixation with Vick seems to have infected the Falcons ability to adress this area. The counter to this is that they did make trades to improve the defense, but more change is needed in the area of scheme. Their defense is far too predictable. Perhaps making a change in defensive coordinator would have helped. Indeed, certainly it would. But Blank has thrown out the baby with the bathwater. I think what did in Mora Jr. was his comment that he would want to coach at Washington. I understood what he meant, but it was taken far out of context. It was the focus of too mu... |
