Artificial Sweetener called Aspartame
2007-11-21 18:55:00 Lately I accidentally browsed a website about artificial sugar like Equal, NutraSweet and etc. to be harmful to our health. Aspartame is 200 times sweeter than the normal sugar without calorie. Whether it is true or not using artificial is really not normal. The best way to lost weight or avoid diabetes is to lower the intake of sugar not by using alternative products which is artificial. It might take you a year to get your ideal weight but at less it is safety. Aspartame is a compound composed of:? 1) phenylalanine (50%) which can be neurotoxic and in some susceptible people will cause seizures? 2) aspartic acid (40%) which can cause brain damage in the developing brain? 3) methanol (10%) which turns into formaldehyde embalming fluid an obvious toxin. There is even a book about it which is called ?The deadly deception? that tells the development of Aspartame and how it was passed in FDA or Food and Drugs Association. Stop using it if you have symptoms like the following:Headaches? ...

Aspartame and Cancer
2007-11-13 01:00:00 Even low doses of Aspartame over the course of a lifetime increase your risk of many types of cancer. In a previous blog I discussed a study by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) that showed increases in cancer with relatively short term aspartame use. This new study, also by NIH, showed that low dose aspartame use increases cancer risk even more when the first exposure occurs to the developing fetus...
Aspartame
2007-10-18 10:57:00 I know we have all heard and probably know about the dangers of articficial sweetners but this story makes it a little more real and I thought it was worth sharing. In October of 2001, my sister started getting very sick. She had stomach spasms and she was having a hard time getting around. Walking ...

The aspartame (NutraAweet) saga continues
2007-09-14 15:55:00 I have received the following article from Dr. Joe Schwarcz, Director, McGill University Office for Science and Society. It originally appeared in The Montreal Gazette. It shows that only the old strategem of giving rats HUGE doses of stuff produces evidence of problems. Excerpt only below. Full article on FOOD & HEALTH SKEPTIC The current ?Acceptable ...
More amusing correspondence from the Aspartame (Nutrasweet) foes
2007-09-11 09:43:00 Further to my post of yesterday, I received or had copied to me the following: We are not in any way associated with Betty Martini whose rants embarrass us all. She is what one of my colleagues called “a self-appointed general” There is a list on Yahoo, The Aspartame Victim’s Support Group that at all times, for ...
Aspartame revisited
2007-09-10 10:34:00 It looks like I poked a beehive when I criticized the anti-aspartame campaign yesterday. I got several accusatory emails, including one from the chief anti-aspartame evangelist herself, Dr. Betty Martini, D.Hum. I have never heard of a D.Hum before. Maybe you get them out of cornflakes packets. I reproduce below part of my correspondence with ...
The campaign against Nutrasweet (aspartame)
2007-09-09 08:00:00 Coming as I do from a big sugar-producing area (Far North Queensland), I always read carefully the little sachets that one gets with one’s coffee in coffee lounges. I make sure that I am putting real sugar in my coffee and not some substitute junk. So I should be in sympathy with the campaign against ...
Aspartame May Cause Cancer?
2007-08-10 05:19:00 A new study on aspartame conducted by the Ramazzini Foundation reveals that aspartame causes a dose-dependent increase in cancers (lymphomas, leukemias and breast cancers) when consumed at levels approaching those consumed by humans in diet soft drinks. Specifically, the study shows (reprinted from the abstract): a) a significant dose-related increase of malignant tumor-bearing animals in males, ...

Aspartame in the News
2007-06-30 18:49:00 Italian researchers published a new study last week that showed aspartame – widely used in soft drinks – might cause leukemia, lymphoma and breast cancer in rats. The FDA is unmoved. Despite this new evidence, they have no plans to change their stance on the safety of aspartame use in foods despite pleas from the Center for Science in the Public Interest to review the safety of the suspect sweetener. (Note: the European Food Safety Authority is equally culpable.) I find it especially disturbing that the FDA is not only ignoring this new study, as well as all the previous studies, reporting the dangers of aspartame, but that they have also ignored their own studies proving that aspartame triggers brain tumors and many other health issues.
Scientists - ?Everyone Should Avoid Aspartame?
2007-06-26 16:22:00 A new long-term animal test from an Italian cancer institute raises serious safety questions about the artificial sweetener aspartame, which is marketed generically as well as under the NutraSweet and Equal brand names. A dozen toxicology and epidemiology experts and the nonprofit Center for Science in the Public Interest are calling on the Food and ...
FDA: No Evidence Aspartame Causes Cancer (AP)
2007-04-21 00:00:00 A federal review of a 2005 Italian study found no data to support the conclusion the sugar substitute aspartame causes cancer, a health official said Friday.

The Lowdown On Aspartame (NutraSweet)
2006-10-17 21:12:01 By Dr. Julian Whitaker Artificial sweeteners are marketed with the promise of weight control, and the vast majority of people who consume them do so to either lose or avoid gaining weight. Folks, this is a fraud of gigantic proportions. From 1960 to l976, there was virtually no change in the number of Americans who were overweight: roughly 24 percent of the population. However, from the mid l980s to the present, this number has more than doubled to 54 percent! This coincides with the massive infusion of noncaloric chemical sweeteners and sugar-free “diet” foods that are eaten by close to three-quarters of the adult population. Although several factors contribute to these alarming statistics, I am convinced that our blind acceptance of the most popular of these artificial sweeteners, aspartame (NutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful), plays a significant role in our current weight problems. Far from helping us lose weight, aspartame has been proven to increase appetite, especially c... |
