2009-08-02 17:37:00 Today is an EXCELLENT day to pick up extra Sunday papers if you ever do that, because there are FIVE coupon inserts: a special Kellogg's insert, a Procter & Gamble insert, the Redplum (aka Valassis) and two SmartSource inserts. I usually have my husband pick up extra Sunday papers for me if he goes to Menard's, where they sell them for $1 apiece. Street vendors also sell them for less than in stores, but I think they charge $1.25 now or something like that. It takes precision, time and patience but that didn't bother me; I was really pleased with my work too, nice and square. This put my brother in a mood, as pictured; even I failed to see the point of it, we were chucking out branches and stuff that weren't in the way, doesn't all that just decompose? When I got back I went and did some food shopping then I watched the rugby; for the record England kicked some Welsh backsides, 62-5 was the final score, promising for the world cup. Grand Prix qualifying in Hungary also took place today, Hamilton is second behind his teammate Alonso; looks like another great race is on the cards tomorrow.

2007-08-03 23:50:00 I think it would be safe to describe today as 'pretty dull'. I woke up, I ate, I ate more, I played stuff and checked E-Mails then I ate and went to bed. As for the picture, there was some thing worth taking. Unfortunately the problem with my camera's on/off switch decided to kick off again, and I missed the sole event of the day. The plane in the picture is not just any old plane, it's one that is designed to dump water everywhere which means the forest fires have started again. This is never a good thing, but it would be quite spectacular if I got a picture of one putting out a fire; maybe in the future... Otherwise, I hear that after the flooding has ceased at home, there has been a fresh outbreak of foot and mouth disease on a farm in Surrey. I hope it doesn't spread this time, I remember the chaos it caused in 2001; we can't let that happen again.

2007-08-02 23:14:00 In contrast to the excitement of yesterday's cowboy adventure, I didn't get up to much at all today. I went for a drive to test out my MP3 car adapter thing and it worked, so I took a picture (that was about as good as the day got really!). The weather was too dull to stop at the beach and it rained for a while; this did nothing to stop the intense heat which I am growing to hate. Sitting here right now on the desk are 35 empty bottles of water, just from the last two days. I am reluctant to throw them away because I think I may be able to make a raft from them to go in the sea with; this may not be a good idea but it might well happen, who knows... So we sat under the clouds sweating away all day. My camera has developed a problem with the on/off switch, when I switch it on it seems to come right off again unless I squeeze it in a certain way; I might go and get it fixed. 2007-08-02 15:00:00 ZOMBIES Donald Rumsfeld, the former U.S. Secretary of Defense, testified before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee yesterday. The Committee questioned Rumsfeld, concerning whether he had been involved in the cover-up of Army Ranger Cpl. Pat Tillman's death. Many people were surprised to see Rumsfeld testify at all, as many people believed he had returned to his previous residence in Hell after being fired by President Bush in November 2006. Rumsfeld's testimony before the Committee marked the first time in nearly nine months since he had been seen by the public. Upon finishing his testimony, Rumsfeld was immediately attacked by townspeople with torches and pitchforks, thus dying yet again.
