These areas are situated in western Travis County, adjacent to Lake Austin, which is what the part of the Colorado River which is just west of Lady Bird Lake is called. These areas roughly encompass the part of Austin between Lake Austin Blvd. to the south, and Loop One to the east, which is also called the MoPac, since it runs alongside the Missouri Pacific railroad tracks for much of its length. For background, the Austin City Planning Commission reviewed changes to city design standards through a task force.The Residential Development Standards Task Force first met December 2007 and briefed Austin City Council in February. Most guidelines are well-received, but one in particular may negatively impact Austin duplexes and infill lots, especially in East and Central Austin. So what's the small change with big impacts? There are numerous fireworks displays as well as performances by the Austin Symphony Orchestra, and other musical events in different locales in the county area. Until a few years ago, the huge, city-sponsored pyrotechnics display was held downtown over Lady Bird Lake, which was called Town Lake then, but the yearly celebration moved to Zilker Park a few years ago. Probably the most well known pool to Austinites, and those visiting, is Barton Springs Pool located near the Barton Hills neighborhood. The pool sits on a lovely 3 acres of hillside, with a nice shallow end for children, and a deep end for those who brought their floats, as well as others who want to swim a lap or two. The pool is a natural spring, and got its name in 1837 from William “Uncle Billy” Barton, who owned the tract of land which included the springs. Once the area became a city park in 1917, the residents began to flock to the refreshing spring water, which averages 68 degrees year round. People-watching at Barton Springs is phenomenal. Diesmal bin ich über einen leserbrief aus australien gestolpfert!wie die meisten nun schon wissen....ich besitze einen vorkriegs fiat 509 den adams special ..und er kommt ebenfalls aus autralien. frank adams hat ihn ca. 1935 umgebaut (das geht aus dem schriftverkehr mit ihm hervor). beim ersten umbau sah er so ausallerdings gefiel ihm (gott sei dank) das heck nicht und er hat ihn nochmals umgebautin einem brief sprach frank adams....das heck und die reifen stammen von einem austin meteor. leider konnte ich bis dto darüber nicht finden.nun gibt es gerade einen leserbrief in der automobile der 2 bilder in ebay gekauft hat und eines zeigt nun einen Austin SWAP (oder eben auch "Meteor")quelle: automobile june 2008lustiger weise stimmen auch die radnarben und -aufnahme mit unserem übereinein!na wenn das kein fundstueck der woche ist!
