Nothing?s wrong with Ferrari. Everything?s right with McLaren Mercedes.
2008-03-19 13:59:00 It was difficult to conceive that Ferrari would only score 1 championship point in Australia considering their very smooth pre-season. It was equally difficult believe that neither Ferrari would finish the race at all, but it’s really only one race, isn’t it. After this one race, Ferrari find themselves with media and fans breathing down ... SHARETHIS.addEntry({ title: "Nothing's wrong with Ferrari. Formula One Championship: Has Force India got any chances?
2008-03-18 16:00:00 The F1 season has started on a wrong note for Force India making its debut at Australian Grand Prix. The mainstay of Force India, the seasoned Giancarlo Fisichella, could not even get his car across through the first bend due to a messy accident. Adrian Sutil, the other rookie driver for Force India did put up some show till the time car gave up. Coming from behind he atleast overtook 5 cars, probably the only solace for Vijay Mallya backed Force India F1 team. Having said that, I would not run to any conclusions as yet, given that more than two thirds of the car could not even get to the checkered flag. I am setting up a month long poll for readers to know what they think about the chances of Force India in this years Formula One Championship.
A New Era in Driving Style
2008-03-17 14:43:00 This season is undoubtedly about Standard ECU ie. no traction control and engine braking. It was so apparent at this past weekends Australian Grand Prix that saw numerous crashes and spins caused by driver error. Chaos and the 2008 Australian Grand Prix
2008-03-16 16:20:00 Chaos was the work of the day in the 2008 Australian Grand Prix. 22 cars on the starting grid and only 8 crossing the finishing line 2 hours later. Lewis Hamilton wins 2008 Australian Grand Prix
2008-03-16 11:47:00 Lewis Hamilton of McLaren won Australian Grand Prix on Sunday after the accident filled season opening race. Hamilton started from pole position and was never seriously threatened before finishing the first race of the season. Nick Heidfeld from BMW sauber F1 team grabbed the second place and Nico Rosberg from Williams has finished third. It was indeed a bad day for defending champion Kimi Raikkonen and Ferrari. He ran out of gas as he entered the pits with only five laps to go. Only 7 of the 22 cars on the grid finished the 58 lap race. For four cars the race ended at the first corner with 2005 GP winner Giancarlo Fisichella skidding off in the Force India team’s debut. Mark Webber and Honda’s Jenson Button were also among the five cars out by the end of the first lap! Fernando Alonso has finished fourth following by Hamilton’s McLaren teammate Heikki Kovalainen with a brilliant driving effort. He was incredibly awesome on track with that McLaren, he was absolutely flying. H...

Australian Grand Prix: Car cemetary.
2008-03-16 07:11:00 An eventful race was presented today for the first leg of the 2008 Formula One championship as only seven cars managed to cross the finish line. The safety car has been used three times during the lenght of the race.Lewis Hamilton in his McLaren-Mercedes was imperial as he dominated his opponents all race long. The young British driver starts his season on the right foot with a solid victory. His march towards the 2008 drivers championship has begun. As for the rest of the field, many spectacular incidents ponctuated this race. The most spectacular one involved Timo Glock in his Toyota. His car litterally took off and disintegrated on the impact. The clowns of this first race of the season are without any doubt both Ferrari drivers who didn't manage to cross the finish line. First, Felipe Massa took out David Coulthard who was rightfully running in front of him. Massa continued for a couple of laps after the incident before retiring. As for the defending champion, Kimi Raikkonen, his...

Formula 1 – Australian Grand Prix Review
2007-03-19 06:21:00 Ferrari were expected to have a good weekend. But the gap between them and the others was probably bigger than many (including me) expected. Realistically Massa was the only driver that could challenge Kimi, Kimi was the only driver that could challenge Massa. Mechanical problems were the only thing that could prevent Ferrari 1-2 finish. Unfortunately for Massa that is exactly what happened. Kimi ran almost perfect race with only a small hiccup few laps from finish. Massa lost quite a lot of time bottled behind Hondas early on and drove heavy car for big part of race due to his 1 stop strategy. At the end his low risk approach meant 3 points and that is good result after staring 22nd on the grid. He might have tried harder to overtake Fisichella during final laps, but perhaps he prefers to start the season with safe 3 points than getting involved in some last gasp incident and loosing all. McLarens had solid race, both drivers obviously happy with their podium positions. Hamilton ha...
