Novak Djokovic became Serbia's first ever grand slam champion on Sunday after beating the unseeded Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the final of the Australian Open. The third seed from Belgrade conceded the first set to the world number 38 but rallied to register a 4-6 6-4 6-3 7-6 (7/2) triumph in three hours and six minutes. The victory marks the first grand slam crown for 20-year-old Djokovic, who upset world number one Roger Federer in the semi-final.This is a good for him and Tennis itself because now we have some good players and we would see some good fight in ATP tennis which was one men show of Roger Federer.

Finally good run ends for Indian no.1 and World Number 31 player Sania Mirza who looks much better in first two games and came here agianst Number 8 seed Vinus Willams. A spirited challenge by Sania Mirza wasn't enough to prevent a 6-7, 4-6 loss to US player. She did well in the first set and broke a service of Vinus but can't win the set. Andey Roddick has been dumped out of the Australian Open by German Philipp Kohlschreiber in a gripping five-set match. German Kohlschreiber, the 29th seed, eliminated the 2003 US Open winner with a 6-4 3-6 7-6 (11/9) 6-7 (3/7) 8-6 triumph in just under four hours, finishing shortly after 2am local time. I think it was a great ma-tch to see and Roddick lost both his temper and the match.

Former world number one Amelie Mauresmo was crashed from the Australian Open by unheralded Australian Casey Dellacqua in a three-set stunner on Friday in Melbourne.  Dellacqua beat  the 2006 champion 3-6 6-4 6-4 in just over two hours, booking herself a place in the fourth round of the Grand Slam. It's a great for Australian Tennis.

Second seed Russian star player  Svetlana Kuznetsova crashed out of the Australian Open in Melbourne after being upset in straight sets by Poland's Agnieszka Radwanska. Agnieszka Radwanska. beat her in straight sets 6-3 6-4.  Radwanska now plays either Nadia Petrova or Ekaterina Makarova in the fourth round.
