Babs Walters confesses "I lied" to cover Star Jones's formerly fat ass. Don Kaplan NYP Walters's "confession" of her affair with married black Senator Ed Brooke to pimp her autobiography isn't a revelation. What happens on The Hill doesn't always stay on The Hill... Page Six WaPo's Howard Kurtz looks at Babs's illustrious career. At risk of redundancy: Enquiring minds (mine) want to know if Babs had a fling with Fidel...
How do baby birdies learn to sing? By babbling

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Baby birds babble much like human infants do, and they have their own special brain circuits to do it, researchers reported on Thursday.
Random Babbling about Life With Teenagers

Sunday Morning Musings.... I've spent a good portion of the last two mornings doing laundry. Yesterday I had almost all the laundry caught up with the last two loads in the washer and dryer. Last night my daughter mentioned to me around 6:00 that she worked this morning at 9:am. On my way upstairs to brush my teeth last night I stopped by her room and sure enough, her work pants were dirty,

I’m so not used to us being this slow this far into August.  Although, I do think the boss took in an order that needs business card artwork, but that will take me all of five minutes. My eye is bugging the hell out of me again.  I’m starting to think that I may have to ...
Summer babbling

If the carbon emission curve doesn't start falling by 2015 we are smoked. With this fact etching against the inside of my scull I find it excruciatingly frustrating to listen to colleagues at work who are babbling about the trips they have done or are planning to do.Yesterday a colleague, just back from vacation, told me that she had been to Greece. The hottest day they had had was 46 degrees. Having mentioned this I thought she would bring up climate change, but she never did. Instead she said that she was going to China this winter. Someone in her family was turning 60 so they would go on a group journey to celebrate. She also wanted to go to Japan next year to visit a Japanese friend who was getting married. I couldn't bear myself anymore and I asked her if she didn't feel any guilt about flying so much. She said that she didn't and swiftly swept on to some other topic. After that exchange I sent her a link to a book review of Mark Lynas 6 degrees. I am still waiting for a re...
Slightly drunken babblings...

Well hell...you didn't think that I would FORGET, now did you?!? Nope, I surely didn't, although I cannot vouch for my sobriety in this particular edition of my audio posting (click "play" to listen!). I wasn't in a particularly festive mindset when I left this, and I was also on the better half of finishing up a bottle of wine, so accept it for what it is, please! At the moment, I'm just disillusioned with people in general, and that doesn't make for very festive conversation, especially considering the fact that I tend to think that all people are good at heart to begin with. In this case, that belief has been very heavily challenged, and it's not too pretty to think about in excess.
Just a Little Random Afternoon Babbling

I'm not in too good of a mood. Coffeehusband is off today and since he actually had something that has to get done, that puts him in a bad mood. We need to hook a boat trailer up to the truck, but because it's a Land Rover they don't have the simple plug in we need to do so. Apparently we are going to have to go in under the carriage, find out if it's a 5 or 7 wire connection, then buy the

Last year, A. Dave Lewis, who's a contributor to Broken Frontier and may be a comics writer in some capacity himself, wrote two columns in which he attacked Michael Medved and Michael Lackner's critique of Marvel's destruction of Captain America in 2003. Lewis wrote a pretty leftist rant, and what really surprises me was that anyone of his standing could still have cared by 2005, when here, the Marvel Knights series had already been stopped due to the flopping sales caused in part by the swing to anti-Americanism, and Cap had been restored to the regular MCU, though as Civil War now proves, it sadly wasn't that long before Marvel boomeranged back on the Chomskyism again. Meanwhile, let us dissect the first column Lewis wrote for starters: first, here's Lewis's response to the part where Medved and Lackner wrote that the Defense Dept. (Pentagon) must face international terrorism, ?without the aid of a celebrated hero of past victories ? comics figure Captain America.? Lewis say...
